Signature Three item Beef Combination flat noodles… This place has one of the best Beef Brisket noodle bowl in the TST area. Many may say beef brisket noodle bowl is such a everyday dish in Hong Kong. I don’t usually hold any particular expectation when I go to a noodle joint for a quick meal or late night snack. It’s the quality of the beef brisket that differs Yuen Kee from the rest. The beef brisket, tripe and tendon here is a must have! It’s best with home made some spicy chili sauce. Besides noodles, they also serve decent HK style roast duck and BBQ pork. However, their set lunch is just average. The ambiance is clean and friendly. The booth and tables are just like most HK style café. There is a basement, but I prefer the ground floor as the cell phone reception is not very good down there. They used to accept Octopus, it was one of the up side for lunch rush. For some reasons, they have taken the machine out recently. The location is great, right in the hub of TST. It’s right across from The One and the Mira Hotel It’s close to the TSTMTR station. If you drive there at night, you can basically park on the street and walk inside for a quick late night noodle run. This place is 15 min walk from my office. I could think less about the walk if I really crave for their beef brisket. It’s just that good!

I had BBQ pork with rice and the meat very tender and juicy. The flavor was just the right amount of sweet. My only complaint is that the meat was a little bit more fatty than I usually like. It’s not the restaurant’s fault though because I didn’t specifically ask for a lean piece of meat. It is commonly said that the best BBQ pork is half meat and half fat. The restaurant itself is clean and bright. It is a little bit far from the MTR station though.

So we dropped in here after wandering around the TST area around 8pm and the placed was pretty full. We were seated in a booth and it was quite squishy and there were only 3 of us ! By the time our food and drinks arrived, there was absolutely no room left on the small table. We ordered half a roast duck, some fried pork chops, boiled greens and a local fried rice. There was no more goose at that hour or else we would’ve gotten that instead. Food was typical HK style and was decent just nothing really stood out ? The service was actually quite amusing, old men barking at their junior counterparts, dishes being thrown instead of placed — you know, the usual chinese diner service level =)
