Good place to stop in to try out Hong Kong’s bizarre culinary phenomenon known as the ‘Western Breakfast’. For those that aren’t in the know, this means breakfast assembled from ‘western’ ingredients; it often bears little resemblance to what an actual westerner would eat for breakfast. And believe it or not, tomato soup with macaroni noodles and beef brisket really isn’t a bad way to start the day. Don’t knock it until you try it. That said, the service is decent(just be sure to flag down staff when you want something), and speak enough English for Anglophones to scrape by. Prices are very reasonable by Western standards. For example, a western breakfast combo(quite a bit of food, really) plus a milk tea cost less than $ 40 Hong Kong dollars in November 2015.

This place was right across from the hotel I was staying at so I decided to give it a try. It is a typical Hong Kong café but this one happens to be open 24 hours a day! FOOD. Pineapple Bun w/Butter — If you get the bun without the butter. you are doing it WRONG. Get it with butter! The flaky custard top is delicious and one of the best I have had. The bread wasn’t as soft as I would have liked it but was still better than 70% of those I have tried in the U.S. Satay Beef Bun — The HK version of the satay beef bun was just OK. I actually prefer the Japanese bakery version of the satay beef/curry bun. The amount of meat in the satay beef bun was not nearly enough and the bread wasn’t as soft and fluffy as I would have liked it. Macaroni Soup w/Ham — This dish was great! It tasted better than any other that I have had in the U.S. I wish I was able to compare it to others in HK but this one is definitely a safe choice! DRINKS. Iced Milk Tea — pretty standard iced milk tea. Way too much ice and it wasn’t that sweet so I had to have them send it back.
