November 2015 — I decided my service porch (laundry room) could use a Solatube skylight and contracted once again with Sunlight Concepts. Well, Mohammed and Aimen (sp) left a few minutes ago and I could not be more pleased with the installation and their courteous and professional manner. Thank you for a great product Sunlight Concepts and for contracting with installation vendors that are great to work with and on time! I am one pleased customer.

I thought SC was great to work with. Their quote was pretty close to the money, they were ON TIME (take note other vendors!), and they were efficient. The spot we wanted the tube installed was problematic. That required a small up charge the day of installation, but it was explained to me what my options were, and what the trade offs were of the different spots for install. All good in my book!
It doesn’t hurt the review that the product itself is awesome — and we love the extra light in the house (it’s really incredible how much light it throws off).

I had a very bad experience with Sunlight Concepts and I would not recommend anyone use them. I hired them to repair a tubular skylight that had a leak. They offered a low price so I decided to go with them. They claimed they sealed the leak, but when it rained again it still had the leak. When I contacted them to see if they could fix the problem, they responded by saying that there was no warranty for the repair and that the unit wasn’t installed properly which was what was causing the leak. Funny how they didn’t mention this when they happily took my money for «sealing» the leak.
So even if they offer you a good price, I would definitely avoid them. They clearly do not take pride in their work and are out to make a quick buck.

After researching skylight installers with friends, Unilocal and Angie’s List, I called Sunlight Concepts because it had the best reviews from a customer service perspective. I wasn’t looking to buy their line of products but needed to replace an old, large skylight in my home which would require a custom order.
My new skylight is delightful, even more so because the whole replacement process was smooth, quick and friendly, from my initial visit to their office/​display room to giving them the final payment as they hauled away the old skylight.
One day I may add some other skylights and will call this business.

Sunlight concepts were friendly, came on time, and installed the sun tunnel beautifully. We were told in advance that Sunlight Concepts don’t repatch the roof, so we called our roofing company to repatch the roof right after the installation. The roofer came on later the same day and the installation was completed.
There was a problem however: There was a screw sticking out of the ceiling near the sun tunnel. I called Sunlight Concepts on the next day to ask their help with this problem, and the same person came right away to see. He told us that it’s not his fault: The screws were too long, but he screwed them obliquely, so that they wouldn’t penetrate. He said it was roofer’s fault, tried to hammer the screw into the wood and when it didn’t work, he left.
Later, Ali, the manager, came and solved the problem by sawing off the screw. Now we enjoy the beautiful sun tunnel with no sticking screws. Overall I’m very happy with the beautiful sun tunnel that keeps enlightening our house. If you’re planning to hire Sunlight Concepts for installing a sun tunnel in a foam roof, It is probably a good idea to have your roofer talk directly with Sunlight Concepts to sort out all the do’s and don’ts regarding the required roof work.

I reached out via email for a free estimate for a Solar Star Attic Fan. I already knew the size of my attic so they were able to respond with an estimate via email and they sure responded quick. They were even able to come out and do the installation on a Saturday morning which took only about half an hour. Boy with that Solar Star Attic fan on my roof, it sure made a world of difference. My AC doesn’t run as long anymore which is going to save me some money on my PG&E Bill. It doesn’t cost anything for the fan to run and it is so quiet. You cannot even hear it in the house. Overall it’s a great investment and the price was very reasonable. 10 year warranty on the fan too. Their customer service is great! I definitely plan on using Sunlight Concepts again when I am ready to install the Solatubes.

I usually to don’t give PERFECT scores… but these guys earned it!
I wish the product was less costly, but other than that… its an amazing product and GREAT company for install!
Fast, easy, professional, clean and amazing product! We got the 4x light enhancing cover and our dark long hallway now is a pop of sunshine, even when its cloudy!!! We rarely turn on the multiple lights we used too!
I would recommend to anyone needing some more light… I just wish they made a product that could work on 1st floors, w/​o roof access… unless they do and i am not aware of it?!

Now that it’s rained, I can say the skylight replacement is a complete success (no leaks). Sunlight Concepts also called me and followed-​up with me a few months later and checked-​in to see how I liked the skylights and to make sure I was 100% satisfied. I think that’s a great customer service treatment and deserves a full 5-​stars.
As far as the labor charges which I got a question about recently — I was charged what they quoted me, no issues with that.
I subsequently had many solar panels put on the same (steep pitch) roof and the solar installers also verified what a tough job it must have been to put in the Skylights so I give full credit to Ali (the installer) and his team for a safe and quality job well done. Thanks guys!

I am worried about problems with ours because Sean, the person installing, said he could replace the florescence tubes with the tube unit and fix the recessed area around the tube so it would look nice. But, after months and Sean missing over 12 dates that he would show up, the work has never been finished. I only hope this does not reflect on the quality of Sean’s tube work. We will have to wait and see this winter.
I wouldn’t let Sean do any extra work besides installing the tubes.
Outside of some particles showing up in the tubes the tubes have been working great.

We had a small leak problem when we had a huge amount of wind and rain together one weekend (one of those 100 year freak occurrences) and the owner at Sunlight Concepts was out here first thing the next morning, with the installer to address the problem. They siliconed everything again (plus any existing crack in my roof that was far away from the sun tunnel), offered to repaint, repair and make it right. It wasn’t that big of a deal to us but they were incredibly attentive, respectful and made sure to fix everything. Amazing!

What a difference it made in our hall– way and bathroom. Our house feels bigger and it was done so fast. The installer left no mess what so ever
(thats a first) I would suggest there product over regular tubes because they really does capture more light and they have some innovative designs to keep light flowing even towards dusk.

My experience with Sunlight Concepts was everything I could hope for. They are the local distributor/​installer for the Solatube solar tubes. My wife and I researched various solar tube manufacturers and found that Solatubes, while the most expensive, are also the best regarded variety of solar tubes on the market. Sunlight Concepts gave us an up-​front quote for our project, and made sure to have us delay by a few days to get into the manufacturer’s spring rebate period. They scheduled a visit for the next week, were on time on site, discussed our plan and offered a few variations to save us time and money, and installed three tubes in one day (doing an excellent job on them) despite our narrow crawl space and tar-​and-​gravel roof. The final price came in under the quoted cost. We had heavy rains for two weeks after the installation and my inspection after the rains showed zero leakage. I would be very happy to go with Sunlight Concepts again.
