DG heating and Air conditioning has over 20 years of experience in the trades. We specialize in Residential furnace installations, a/​c installations and change outs. We also specialize in duct replacement repair and installation. We also specialize in custom architectural copper or sheetmetal installation and fabrication.

I started my work in the trades as an electrician in the USN aboard a submarine. Performing routine maintenance and repairs on motors, generators and pumps throughout the engine room. After being discharged from the military in 2001 I started working for a company in San Jose as a helper to learn the trade, with my background it was just a matter of learning the refrigeration side of the industry. Shortly later I was running a crew of installers. In 2004 I moved on to another company in San Jose as the lead foreman, held this position for about a year and moved up to Service and Installation manager. In 2009 myself and my partner who was the salesman at the company decided to move on and establish DG Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.

It is nice to be warm again!
I was greatly impressed by the level of professionalism starting with the call to the office and later by the way my furnace was fixed.
I was given 2 hour window for the appointment and Montie called me in advance 20 minutes before arrival.
He quickly identified the problem and gave me a very clear and detailed explanation on what went wrong. He also explained me how to install a new thermostat which I’m planning to do by myself.

John came to our home for consultation in response to my desire to improve the heating efficiency of the old gas furnace. He was sincere and frank about how there was no work to be done that could improve the old system. I went with another company who sold me the idea that a thorough duct cleaning and service on the existing furnace would improve its performance dramatically. The service was thorough, but the furnace broke in one month and required much significant repair. Ultimately, I went back to John to replace the gas furnace at home. He was able to schedule the installation of the heater promptly AND at a very competitive price and a four year labor warranty. The heater works well and even to this day, he generously give advice and answer my questions about all my heater problems!
A very well deserved 5-​star for the company and John’s service!

Terrible service. This company had good reviews on Unilocal so I decided to give them a try. BIG MISTAKE! Leticia is totally unprofessional and so is the owner, John. I had a heater go out in one of my rentals and asked them to service it. After numerous messages and calls, they never returned my call. I finally got a hold of them and they had no update (after 4 days). Leticia gave some bs excuse about the technician not giving her an update. I asked why she couldn’t call me and just state that so I could find someone else to go out and she laughed saying «I. Will. Call. You. When. I. Hear. Something. Back. Understand?» In a condescending way. When I called John regarding this work order, he was also rude and hung up while I was mid-​sentence. As an owner, customer service is what I would like to excel in. This company obviously has no customer service skills and I am happy never to do business or recommend anyone to them for services.

We’ve had DG out two times once for the air conditioning and another time for the furnace. Monty and Mike (the owner) really know their stuff and, are very fair, and quick! Monte fixed the bad controller board on a Rheme furnace just before a cold front came through a few days later. Heat never felt so good! We’re thinking about solar with them given the great experience so far. Keep up the good work guys and thanks for the great deal!

I would give 10 stars if allowed!
I have a very old floor furnace that does not work, so I would like to change to wall furnace. Called DG, John came to give an estimate which is very reasonable. Before D&H I also had a general contractor came (friend highly referred), he said that I have to do it without permit since the old house pipes can tolerate the air pressure test during city inspection.
This worried me a lot, I have no idea what will happen if the inspection fails. So I had lots of email exchange with DG Leticia, she is very responsive and always answers my email. I also called John and he assured me that if that happens they won’t leave me alone in the dark.
Today roy and his partner came, they are very professional, very polite, and kept the place clean (vacuum couple times). They worked the whole day nonstop, even hurried to pull in the schedule to accommodate the inspector. They closed the subfloor, opened roof for exhaust pipe, rough closed the drywall, it’s amazing to see them finished so much in a single day!
And the inspection passed within 30second. I am now finally relieved that the project is over. Now when I look back, I think I am really lucky to have found DG in Unilocal

I was very impressed with DG. They fit me in on short notice to fix my heater which kept cutting off unexpectedly. Monte was clearly very experienced and knowledgable and took the time to explain to me what he was doing and my options. He even gave me tips on future maintenance I could do myself to keep it running without incurring additional costs for a professional. Monte called to confirm my appointment the day before, called to let me know when he was on his way and showed up on time to the minute. At the end of the day he called me again to check and make sure everything was still working great. He was very considerate, professional and worked quickly to keep the service call under an hour. I found their rates to be quite reasonable as well. I definitely recommend DG to anyone!

We decided to go with DG for a new furnace and air install. Everything was explained up front, no nonsense, reasonable quote and no up sell. Workers arrived right on time in the morning and completed by the afternoon. They finished with a complete walkthrough and answered any questions. It turned out to be a super smooth transaction and we are very happy with their service. We would recommend DG to anyone looking for a furnace/​air install. A++++

Found DG Heating & Air Conditioning on Unilocal — and I was not disappointed! Both owners, John & Mike, came to the house prior to starting the job and were honest, knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. Their crew of 3 – 5 guys, managed by Ruben, were very courteous each day they were here. They kept the job site clean and were forthcoming with job status & specifics. They were not the lowest bid received, but we decided on their company based on the excellent customer service received. Final Vent Inspection was well below the allowable leak percentage and small followup requested for final system adjustment was handled in a timely manner. We will explore their annual cleaning/​service as well.

DG Heating has been the fourth party to come in and inspect our old floor furnace which could not be turned on from inside the house. All other companies didn’t even bother to go under the house to get a clear assessment of the situation. Montie from DG Heating immediately understood what needed to be done and had our furnace turned back on in less than an hour. Excellent experience and we are so happy that we won’t have to freeze anymore.

Awesome quality job, DG !!
First of all, we found DG on Unilocal.DG gave their estimates in great details (we are replacing both AC and furnace). Their answers to our questions and concerns were responsive and professional. When performing the job, the DG team (Roy and Anthony, etc.) were highly efficient and effective with their schedule. The job was done cleanly ahead of time. Finally, an extremely knowledgeable walk-​through was done nicely to bring us up to speed what to expect in future maintenance and customer care. DG deserves great reviews with its outstanding services we received.

Montie came out not only EARLY after calling to ensure it was ok, but performed the work on our system quickly and efficiently, he’s working as I type.
He also discussed with us how this will probably need replacement within 2 – 3 yrs (unsurprising as its greater than 10yrs old now). And clearly explained maintenance tricks.

You wonder how a company with more than 100 reviews still has 5 stars. Yes I was on the same page and called these guys to completely redo my air duct. What a fantastic job they did! Not only did they do a good job but also made sure the whole house was spotlessly cleaned before they left.
I must also mention that when we had a small correction to be made, the owner himself came home to apologize for the issue in person. You know what kind of service you are about to receive when the owner takes this personal level of involvement. I would never even think twice before recommending them or even hiring them again for any service they provide.

It was easy to schedule an appointment. John, the owner, showed up a few minutes before our appointment. He listened to my explanation, asked some questions. He told me that replacing my A/​C and central heating system would not significantly reduce my energy costs.
He made some practical recommendations that should improve our system’s efficiency.
The visit lasted about 15 minutes and there was no charge.
Wow. No sales pitch!
I can’t comment on installation or repairs, but I really appreciate the straight-​forward professional approach. I will call DG when it is time to replace our system.

Honest and helpful. I called for a quote and it turned out I wasn’t in his service area. He still answered all my questions. He then called me back the next day with a referral for my service area. All of this and he gained nothing.
I can’t speak to his work product, but he sure was honest and helpful — two essential traits. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with him.

I cant say enough good things about DG heating and air conditioning!!! The first thing that impressed me was that every time I called. someone always answered the phone!!! Leticia was professional and polite and I know I was one of many calls she was getting during this heat wave. I was given a 2 hour window 2 – 4 pm and Monte showed up at 2 pm!!! Monte was very efficient and knew what he was doing. He had my system back up and running in less than 30 minutes and I had a few issues to be resolved. Their prices were VERY fair and the service was a 10++.
DG is the type of company that we hope to get every time we have a problem and a service provider needs to be called. They were professional, courteous, came out quickly and was very fair with their pricing. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs there system serviced, repaired or installed!!!

Montie just came out on a Saturday morning. Fantastic service! Our appointment window was between 10 – 12 and — unlike other companies — Montie called me and offered to come early if it worked with my schedule. As it turned out, it absolutely did.
Montie was extremely professional and knowledgeable. In about 5 minutes, he diagnosed the problem and in about 25 minutes, the problem was solved.
As a new homeowner, I was especially grateful that Montie explained how the HVAC system works and that he provided some general maintenance tips.
In short, I was happy I found DG on Unilocal and very highly recommend their services!
