Pet Play Today Sitting

I was introduced to Pet Play Today about three years ago through a neighborhood email alias, and Anne M. has been walking my dog since then. First, she is the most responsible pet professional I’ve met — in 3+ years, not one visit has been missed, and I find it refreshing and comforting that she texts me when she gets to my house, and again when she leaves. That small «interruption,» (and sometimes I get a photo too!) is just great.
Most importantly, my dog is difficult — she doesn’t care for new people or other dogs. She’s eight, a rescue animal, and has issues. (She’s never bitten another dog or a person, but she would in the wrong hands.) I was so happy that Anne had familiarity with «quirky» dogs — Pippie, my dog, adores Anne, and I couldn’t be happier. I think it’s Anne’s quiet, calm ability to assess, work with, and connect with animals that makes her and Pet Play today so outstanding. Thank you!

I was in touch with Anne yesterday to schedule an initial meeting with me and my dog for regular dog walking services and, possibly, occasional dog sitting. Even though «sitting» is in the company’s name, Anne informed me that she doesn’t dog sit anymore and that her colleague Tina (who is the only other person on her team) takes on any clients interested in sitting. So, I had another call with Tina and scheduled an initial meeting two days from the time we spoke.
In the meantime, Tina and Anne were in touch via text and email to send me a two page docusign. One page of the document was a general intake form — dog name, vet info, emergency contact, etc. The second page was a contract that seemed more designed for sitting than dog walking. It had a few terms in it that I wasn’t comfortable with, including granting permission to Pet Play Today Sitting to obtain a locksmith and to place my dog in a kennel, and that I would pay for those services. I wrote back to Anne to see if she wanted me to sign this before I even had my initial meeting with Tina and also to explain that there are a few terms I wasn’t comfortable with. I was glad to get a flexible response from Anne saying she would be fine with me signing the contract after our initial meeting and that she was willing to let me remove those provisions from the contract.
The disappointing thing was that after all of this back and forth yesterday, today I received an email from Anne letting me know that one of Tina’s existing clients wanted to add more walks, so Tina has to cancel our initial meeting. On top of this, neither Tina or Anne have any availablity to add more dogs to their walking schedule.
I wish they had said something in our various calls/​emails yesterday about being so close to full capacity since it also would’ve presented a scheduling issue when I explained the frequency of walks I was looking for. Ultimately, it was a lot of time wasted to learn they don’t have any availability to add new dogs to their schedule.
Overall, they were perfectly nice, but I found it really unprofessional not to be upfront about their availability and then canceling. I also think those provisions in their agreement and sending it to me before we’ve even met was a little suspect. I wonder how many people sign it not realizing the authority they’re handing over and also if the fact I said something was really the cause for all of this…
Anyway, hopefully this review saves other Unilocalers’ time. Don’t bother inquiring about their services, look elsewhere.

I have been using Anne’s service since I got my puppy a year ago. Tina has provided regular dog walking services as well as pet sitting both in my home and at hers during my vacations. I have been very pleased with the high quality service we received and how easy it has been to work with Anne and Tina. My dog and cat adore Tina and I feel very comfortable knowing she is taking care of things while I am gone. I am very careful about who I entrust the care of my two cats to. Luckily I found Anne on Unilocal — and she is great with my cats, is extremely reliable, honest, and I trust her implicitly. She sends text messages with photos with an update of her visit, how much food they ate, whether the litter box was used, etc. It is very reassuring to get that communication so I don’t worry about my cats when I’m out of town. I can’t recommend her more highly!

Anne is our very trusted petsitter for our two precious dogs. She is very professional, honest, caring, responsive, and trustworthy. She is consistent with her visiting hours and updates me via text when she comes in and leaves our house.
We normally do not leave our fur babies with anyone else when we go out of town although on a recent trip out of the country, I felt comfortable having Anne visit our dogs during the day. She did an excellent job coordinating with our overnight petsitter.

Anne took excellent care of my kitty Ambrose while I was away at Christmas. Because I’ve been spending so much time with him lately, I felt especially bad about leaving him at that time and disrupting his routine.
Even though Ambrose is a scaredy-​cat, he adapted easily to Anne, and when I came home he was happy, healthy, and in very good spirits. He started playing with me right away, so I knew he felt very comfortable in her care. His food bowl was full, his water was freshened, his litter box was clean, and he was sitting in the window, which he only does when he feels secure and in charge of his territory.
Anne told me exactly when she was going to be visiting, and she was so prompt that I was able to text her while she was at my home. She «translated» for Ambrose by telling me what he was saying (usually «meow»), and sent me pictures that made me feel much better about not being with him. He is a very affectionate cat and she pet him a lot, which he loves.
I felt very happy that a really kind person who loves kitties was caring for him. I hope Anne will be available to sit for Ambrose whenever I have to travel in the future. If you love your pet and want him or her to get the best care, call Pet Play Today. I recommend Anne highly!

Anne has been walking my dog for the past year and is so wonderful! She walks my dog three times a week and is extremely dependable and reliable. She always sends me a text when she arrives and another one after the walk to let me know how things went. I trust her 100% and my dog loves her too! Anne is very flexible and understanding, especially with last minute schedule changes. I was relieved that she was able to walk my dog on weekends too since I work every other weekend. Anne took care of my cat for a week and I can’t say anything but praise for her. I was pretty nervous leaving my cat since it was the longest I’d ever left him for. I met with Anne a week before I left and knew he’d be in good hands. I was given great suggestions (leaving a fan, putting a doorstopper outside where the litter box is kept, keeping bedroom doors closed, etc) that clearly showed Anne’s experience in pet sitting. I got a call the day before I left to confirm where I was leaving my house key and the dates which I’d be away. While on vacation, I received texts each time Anne arrived at my house and pictures of my cat playing or sitting happily on her lap. Her prices are very, very reasonable for the care a pet receives. I will absolutely be using Anne’s services again and would recommend her to anyone!

My husband and I hired Anne to take care of our 10 year old dog (going on 2), for an extended week-​end. She is very thorough with in-​take information and takes the business seriously, as well as is great with our dog. She was willing to read all of our details and notes, and give us feed-​back after each visit, so we were able to relax and feel comfortable that things were just fine. Our dog is a high-​strung terrier and nervous about everything, and she was quite happy with Anne and looked forward to seeing her. We will be calling her again and want to recommend her.

I have recently made use of Anne’s pet-​sitting service for my cat. She was very professional and took very good care of my cat.
