LC Tree Service Inc. is a San Diego-​based tree service company that sticks out from the rest. We welcome you to see the difference! Whether you need a tree trimmed, removed, or shrubs pruned, we’re ready to help you with all your residential or commercial tree service needs. We also specialize in weed abatement and fire clearance, and can help keep your land fire safe and up to code.

Trust and safety are important when selecting a tree trimmer! We are a member of the BBB and fully insured with Worker’s Comp and Liability Insurance. We are also members of the International Society of Arboriculture and the Society of Commercial Arboriculture.

I first got into the industry because of my love of the outdoors. It’s a thrilling experience hanging in a tree 100 ft in the air! Then to top it off, I love giving my customers an end product that they can be proud about. I first started off my company with just me, myself, and I… and through the years and with God’s help, the LC Tree Service crew now consist of a solid crew of hardworking men out on the field, a sales team, and my wife as Office Manager. As a small, family-​run business, we are able to concentrate more on customer satisfaction. Owner and lead tree trimmer, Larry Coalson, strives for customer satisfaction and is recognized by his past clients as being very personable and kind. Larry’s main focus in life is his relationship with God, and it shows in the way he carries himself with the people he meets. When he’s not trimming trees, he’s spending time with his wife and baby boy, studying the Word, serving at the church by mentoring and counseling others in need, taking photos, camping, or getting crazy on a dirtbike at the desert.

LC Tree Service did a great job of trimming six more trees for me, and removing some dead fruit trees. They cleaned up and finished everything with good humor. In fact, I have two more trees I want topped, and I will be using them. Eric, who did the tree stump work did a great job. Larry, the owner, could not be nicer to deal with. Ryan, who does a lot of the estimating, is always helpful and available if you have questions. I am already recommending them to friends and neighbors.

LC did a FANTASTIC job! They are very professional and they exceeded all of our expectations. They took the time to listen to what we wanted and then went about making recommendations which protected us from ourselves. Ryan and Larry both came to our home and provided expert advice and not a sales pitch. Their crew was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves and even taught us about why the trees were having issues. If I could provide a six star recommendation I would.

LC did a great job removing our invasive ficus tree and grinding the stump. Their quote was more than fair, and included removing the surrounding deck. They were quick, and even early for our appointment. I wish I could say the same about the contractors who have done work at our house since!

Wow! We shopped around and narrowed the search to two companies and I’m so glad we chose LC. I had a very good feeling about Larry and felt a high degree of trust within minutes. Confident, competent and no pressure kind of guy. After completion of the job I realized my gut feeling was accurate. My wife and I are extremely impressed with these guys. Within a day and a half (one day it was rainy but didn’t slow them down) Larry’s team took down 3 big pines, dressed up a large elm, trimmed 4 peppers, 3 queen palms, an 80′ + tall fan palm, removed a medium sized dead tree, pruned several other small and medium trees, chipped, hauled and cleaned up well. A few other extras were mixed in there but the sentence ran on long enough.
If you’re looking for the right guy to manage your trees you have got to try LC. He runs a motivated team and leads by example. I’m a fan of leaders that don’t just talk but actually step up and perform. He picked a great crew and they work extremely hard next to the boss. They get more done in less time than any other group I’ve seen. Great value.

Exceeded our expectations. Very professional team. We asked LC Tree to remove a very tall palm in the front of our house (with fairly narrow drop zone) and to trim a tree in back.
Ryan came by to give us a quotation. As a certified arborist, he was able to give us real, practical, long-​term advise, as opposed to simply quoting prices and upselling.
Matt, also an arborist, and his team came to do the work and really listened to our preferences to ensure we were happy with final product. They came with enough people so it didn’t seem like everyone was rushed. Matt even gave us advise on a tree they did not work on.
Clean-​up was excellent.
Even if it’s a few dollars more than other quotes, it is worth having such dedication and customer oriented tree trimmers. We’ve had other tree trimmers do work for us here in SD. None of them even came close to TL’s level of quality service.

These Guys are AMAZING!!!
After the «Heavy Storm» that hit La Mesa about 1pm, Ryan & Larry were there within the hour to Rescue an 80′ Tall Multi Trunk Pine Tree that landed on 2 Homes, puncturing the roofs.
They both provided a calming affect through the chaos of damage and understood the urgency to get the trees removed, in order to protect from further rain damage. They assessed the situation and had a crane on site within the next hour.
The Crews worked Fast, Efficient & Courteously… with the temperature of 100+ Degrees.
What stands them apart from the rest? They stayed throughout the evening & night and used their headlights to make sure EVERY branch and pine cone was cleaned up on Both properties and the street. They even cleaned up areas the Storm caused Debris that weren’t part of their work! No Corners were cut to get the job done!
All day they worked, from other jobs to this one… past 9 pm at night… with Smiles on All the Crews faces at the end of the night! Not a Complaint from one of them!
Warms your heart to know… there Really are Great Companies out there!
I will Recommend this Company to EVERYONE!

Professional, knowledgable, fast, efficient and friendly! I am a home owner in San Diego and currently have my home rented. We are military and currently live in Hawaii. A neighbors yard improvement project along the property line caused a large tree to fall in my yard and I needed help ASAP from across the ocean. Larry had someone (Ryan) out at my home three hours after my initial call and by that evening I had a reasonable estimate in my hand via email. The work was completed to my absolute satisfaction two days later. Larry and Ryan were professional, friendly, returned phones calls and answered all my questions promptly. As a home owner having reliable companies in my phone book is very important, especially when I’m on an island 3000 miles away! Their number is in my book and they have my full recommendation to friends.

LC Tree Service was an excellent company for us to work with! We needed multiple trees trimmed on our property and are so thankful we found Larry and his crew. When we called about making an estimate appointment, Ryan was able to come out the next day. He looked at all the trees on our property and gave honest feedback… including the fact that one of the trees would be purely aesthetic and did not need trimming for the health of the tree. He was very knowledgable and gave a fair price.
On the day of the trimming appointment, the crew arrived on time and were friendly, professional and worked hard the whole day and a half on our property. We have young children and were very thankful that the behavior and language of all the workers was above reproach. The trees looked amazing when they were finished! What a difference!
They concluded with what we should do to follow up and when we should get the trees trimmed again. They left the area better than when they arrived and even left us with neatly stacked fire wood from a tree that needed to be removed.

I used them to trim 3 Mexican fan palms on my property, two of which are about 75 feet tall and had not been trimmed for a while. The person that came out to give the estimate was very knowledgeable. The guys that trimmed the trees did the job quickly and neatly and cleaned up everything completely afterwards. The price was very fair and I will use them again to trim the palms on a regular basis.

Just noticed this company on Unilocal.
I had a bad experience w/​them about a year ago. I contracted w/​them for 1 large tree & stump removal.
The owner said the project would take all day and that he would be on site to make sure the job was done right.
Stump was only partially removed, he never showed up, it took only 4 hours & cost me $ 1600!!!

We used LC Tree Service to trim a fig tree and a palm tree. We had some specific trimming requirements for the fig and access restrictions for the palm, and they worked with us to get the job done. They were efficient, friendly, and the outcome was just as we had hoped for. I recommend :)

I’ll always call these guys for my tree trimming. I’ve got such giant yucca trees that you probably need a cherry-​picker to get up there – but then you wouldn’t be able to clean out all of the dead old inner leaves like these guys did. These guys are fearless climbers. My crazy yuccas look awesome! Larry even showed me how to operate the chain saw that came with my house :) I think they might be arborists (?) because I got a lot of tips on keeping my trees and shrubs going strong. Great crew super guys.

We had LC Tree Trimming remove a large tilted Palm Tree leaning into the neighbor’s house from my mother in laws home in Mission Hills. It was a very hard job, & they did it with such perfection. We then had them trim our tall Fan Palm, & our Queen Palm at our house in Scripps Ranch. They were quick, neat, & amazing to watch their skill. One of our neighbors was so impressed he called him over to trim his Palms. We look forward to having him trim our Rubber Tree, & other trees soon. We are very happy & recommend this company!
