Joe and his All Access Construction crew were absolutely top notch. I had seven bids for my job: two from Angie’s list that were ridiculously high, two from referrals that said the job was too small, one from my own gardener that was quite high and two from my online search of pavers in the area. During the online search I came across All Access Construction. Their website was very informative, had great photos of past work, and although they are based in Richmond, I gave them a call. From my first phone call, Joe listened to what I wanted, was extremely competent in his suggestions, and after his visit, his bid was very professional and quite reasonable. Further, he offered direct contact references.
My job was to pave a small patio area, sure-​up rotten boards around the patio, remove pea gravel and pave the breezeway access from the front of the house to the back patio. He provided us photos of the pavers he based his bid on and offered us a choice of other pavers at varying costs. Once the job commenced, the All Access crew made excellent progress each day. They even bagged up all of the pea gravel so that I could take it to my mother’s house. I realized as they were getting ready to place the pavers that I needed to have conduit between the flower bed and the house for the electrician to run power for a water fountain. The foreman understood what I needed, bought the conduit and installed it under the pavers with no complaints.
My yard is perfect! I can’t thank Joe and his crew enough for a job well done.

Joe and his team took on a major yard renovation for us and did an excellent job! His team was incredibly efficient and very professional, and went above and beyond when they saw an opportunity to make something better. They also worked well with both our landscape designer and architect throughout the process. We had an aggressive timeline, and despite some challenges with the weather, they did everything they could to meet it – and when unavoidable issues arose after the project was completed, they were more than happy to come back and make adjustments.
I would absolutely recommend All Access to anyone looking for an honest, committed, and skilled team.

We were introduced to Joe and the All Access team by our Landscape Architect. Not only did his crew do an amazing job, but they were also all very pleasant to work with. Their attention to detail was terrific, and they were so considerate of all our needs while doing this huge job! Joe himself is a pleasure to work with. He is very reasonable, and no nonsense. He obviously takes great pride in the work that he takes on! I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again, and would recommend them highly! On top of all this, his crew completely transformed our outdoor space, and our family loves spending time outside now.

All Access Construction came to us by recommendation from our landscape architect. Since our architect was detailed oriented and showed high degree of professional conscientiousness I wanted to include Joe, owner of All Access Construction, in our contractor bids. He wasn’t the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive and as people always say, you get what you pay for. So I decided not to go with the most economical option and I selected Joe. So happy I did. He’s easy to work with and has a great construction crew. They constructed the project exactly as our designer planned. And when things were not built to plan there was no push back on making corrections. That’s how it should be. You should feel comfortable talking with your contractor about what your expectations are so that you are satisfied with the outcome. Joe’s team also showed high degree of grading and drainage knowledge and came up with solutions to an unanticipated problem without compromising the design. We are beyond pleased with how it turned out. The neighbors love how it looks and functions and most importantly we love how much more time we spend outside with our family and friendly playing and entertaining. We would and probably will use them again when we are ready to tackle the backyard.

I can’t thank Joe and the All Access crew enough for another excellent job. My wife and I hired them for a second job (see my wife Maria B’s review below) after they did such a great job the first time.
We had an extremely tight deadline. We wanted to throw my mother in law a wonderful 70^th surprise party. We couldn’t have done it without Joe and All Access. Our yard had just been fortified with a new retaining wall and deck all built by Joe and All Access. But we had about 3500 sf of dirt and rocks – with the party just 6 weeks away! Joe installed a beautiful 1600 sf stamped concrete patio, a professional 80 ft VersaLok retaining wall, walkways, a gorgeous 1200 sf lawn and sprinkler system and ran electrical and gas lines for outdoor lighting and a BBQ. The finished job was like dream come true – we couldn’t believe it was our yard. It was especially meaningful because my mother in law was orphaned and had a horrible child hood and sacrificed everything for her kids. It meant the world to us to be able to give her this special celebration is a such a gorgeous setting. Thank you Joe for making it possible. Your work has effects beyond just a pretty yard… you create places for celebrations and families to spend time together and kids to play happily. Joe you are truly first class.

Four words sum up my experience with All Access: professional, reliable, quality, integrity. Joe and his crew are the best of the best.
We hired All Access Construction to excavate and remove a faulty, dangerous and failing retaining wall. It was a challenging project and one that other contractors were hesitant to take on. Joe was knowledgeable and professional. He knew retaining wall construction inside and out. He walked us through every step, always patient and explaining all the details to us. He worked with the city on permits and the soils and civil engineers on the challenges and specifications of project. Joe even took pictures during construction and texted them to us at work so we could be a part of the process.
I can’t say enough good things about Joe and his crew. His crew were honest hard workers. They did quality work quickly. They were pleasant to have around and worked tirelessly. Joe was always easy to reach and returned our calls immediately. He was on site frequently and oversaw everything down to the smallest details.
We encountered unexpected problems on the job but Joe proposed options on how to address them and always kept cost in mind. Our job was done in a timely manner and our site was kept safe and always cleaned up at the end of the day. We were amazed at how swiftly our project was completed.
Last month we had a substandard retaining wall and dangerous, rickety deck. Today, thanks to Joe and his amazing crew, we have a beautiful new redwood deck, built to last with a retaining wall that will surely be able to handle El Nino rains and last throughout the years.
I wish more contractors had the work ethic and pride in workmanship that Joe does. He is a pleasure to work with. I recommend All Access without reservation. I wouldn’t hesitate to entrust any job to their skilled hands, from residential to large commercial projects. They rescued our project – and at a very fair price.

Joe did a job for me 2 yrs ago and at the time his service was questionable. He seems to be the person who books the jobs but once he shows up with his crew and collects the money he’s no where to be found. I recently called Joe to do an extension the work his crew (not him) did 2 yrs ago. He showed f up for the estimate then didn’t follow thru with providing the estimate. When I called him he said he would get back to me that evening and when he failed to do so I called him the following morning and instead of calling me he text me and declined to do my job sighting that he was to busy. Well if he was to busy why even show up for the estimate. I would NEVER use him again very unprofessional

I highly recommend All Access Construction. Joe is a very hard working entrepreneur, and I admire his positive keep pushing-​never give up attitude! His slogan really says it best: «Start with commitment, deliver with quality, and finish with success.» It’s not just a slogan, but the way his company does business.

Joe and his guys were great!
We had them build a 135′ retaining wall and 500 sqft patio. He was comprehensive in his assessment and gave me a price I was happy with. We had a large retaining wall to build so I choose them because that’s what they’re good with.
He was responsive and the job got done very quickly. As soon as the rain cleared up, they were back on site and finished quickly.
I’m very happy I chose All Access and highly recommend them!

The worst experience I ever had with a contractor. Took him over a year to complete a project that he promised would take a few days. Very unprofessional and handed me a bunch of lies and excuses. The job was done very poorly and he never finished up fixing the mistakes. Do yourself a favor and never use him. Joe Johnson only has a landscapers license and shouldn’t be doing other work.

I finally got a chance to write this review — but I had to make sure I do because of the excellent service I received from the All Access team! I had planned a graduation party for my brother and last minute decided that why not use our backyard for the occasion. However, majority of our yard was just dirt & woodchips. I had about 3 weeks left to the party and pulled up Unilocal and contacted about 7 different companies. The only one to reach out to me — and immediately was Joe from All Access.
He literally came the same day, checked out our backyard, discussed our different options and within two days or so we were ready to rock. Within about 1.5 weeks our backyard was done completely.
Joe is extremely knowledgeable, he completely knows the ins & outs on everything in relation to concrete. I had a ton of questions and was indecisive on many things starting with — cost/​is it worth it to do for just a party — the different layouts pretty vs basketball court. He was patient and always available for my texts and calls. He talked with my family as well, since we all wanted something different and helped finally conclude that the concrete layout would be the best (since the majority wanted to have a basketball court). He even helped us decide the color!
I am thankful for all our talks with Joe through the whole process, his patience, guidance, professionalism but most of all his genuine & helpful nature. Everyone who sees our backyard finds it beautiful and the job neat & well done. More so, his team was also very professional — came on time and always very polite.

We contacted All Access to «redo» our driveway… We kind of had an idea of what we wanted, but honestly we just wanted our driveway to look nicer than it did. Joe definitely did just that. He recommended colors and stamps for our concrete and was spot on. He and his crew were very professional and Joe always responded to my calls and texts promptly, no matter what time of the day I contacted him. We will be contacting All Access again to «redo» our backyard and honestly any other similar project. This is a great company and we highly recommend them.

DISASTER Joe has never finished my job. He always promises, but does not do anything. He is a good salesman/​talker, but not a worker. I paid Joe ahead of time as it was Thanksgiving/​Christmas and Joe said he needed the money to pay his guys. 6 months later and he has not been back.

Person had great reviews so I called and left a message three days ago… still have not heard back… bad customer service if the customer cannot get call returned.

Joe and his crew did great concrete work in our backyard, replacing a weed-​infested and badly-​installed brick patio with a sleek, well-​designed cement patio and path, totally transforming our yard. I recommend All Access for your landscape needs.

After getting quotes from a few different contractors, Joe beat all of them out of the water. He made me feel very comfortable with our project as he spent the time to explain and go over every step and detail. Even on the day of work, we adjusted our plans based on Joes recommendations and turned a too small patio into a perfectly sized patio. We could not be happier with that decision. The final product is beautiful stamped cement patio and curved walkway in our backyard. It turned out amazing. Joe worked with our tight budget and gave us the tools and resources to do some of the work that we could do, ourselves. When we made a small mistake, who did we call? Joe. He knew exactly how to fix our mistake and gave us all of the necessary instructions. This to me is going above and beyond.

Joe is hands down one of the best contractors when it comes to business and follow-​up. I called him back in February when I was in escrow on my house to give me a quote on replacing two retaining walls and the staircase to the front of the house. Not only was he the most reasonable from a cost standpoint but he was also the quickest to provide a detailed estimate. He even gave me a free notebook with his branding when he came out. If you google his business you’ll find hundreds of photos and videos of past jobs he’s done. I found this super helpful because you know the quality of work his team can do.
Joe’s follow up is also unsurpassed. I had a lot going on with the closing of escrow on my house, I had a baby on the way, and I had to start saving some money to do the repairs. Joe didn’t harass me to book him, but he was great about sending a follow up email every other month just to check in. I called out at least 5 other contractors to bid the same job and I never heard back from any of them… not once. This is what put Joe over the top.
Fast forward to August I called Joe out to replace the front staircase to my house and one of the retaining walls. He’s got an extremely hardworking crew and they cracked out the job. Joe was great about checking in throughout the entire process and even came out on a weekend to replace my walkway lights instead of putting the old ones back up.
He’s a solid guy and he follows through on what he promises. You can’t ask for much more. I’ll be giving Joe a call again when it’s time to replace the other retaining wall at the back of my house.

All Access did a great job with the concrete on our side yard. They were very prompt getting out to do an estimate and finished the job quickly and with very quality workmanship. In addition, they were flexible enough to adjust to a few minor changes to the work that came up during the job. I will certainly recommended them to my friends and family for their needs in the future.

AllAccess did a terrific job making concrete steps and a path through my garden. They arrived on time, did the promised work in the agreed upon time and left the yard cleaner than when they arrived. They were very careful around my Japanese maple tree too! Joe is awesome. I would definitely hire them again.

We had a major retaining wall project to do in our yard, and contacted All Access. Joe Johnson came out immediately to give us a bid, and was veery competitive with the other companies we contacted. They were able to start the project immediately and completed it on time despite coming across some unexpected challenges. They have great work ethic, are very knowledgable, communicated with us regularly, and provided us with beautiful walls. I would strongly recommend them to anybody in need of hardscape landscaping.
