Hard drive crashed on my iMac, a couple of days before Christmas. I arranged with Manu to drop it off on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. When the time came, nobody was home to help me carry it down the stairs, so I had to cancel. Wow! Manu to the rescue, like a Christmas elf. Before the week was out, he called to say it was ready, and since he was in the neighborhood, he could drop it off. Wow again. For a very reasonable price he not only replaced the hard drive and installed a new OS, but managed to recover everything from the old drive — including some music that had been unrecognizable by iTunes for ages. All with warmth and a smile. Manu is our new Mac Man!

Professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful and diligent — some of the words to describe Manu and his work! I was ready to buy a new MacBook and my friend suggested to have it checked for possible upgrade. And wouldn’t you know, my laptop was about to crash if I didn’t have it checked! Manu was very clear on what he was going to do, did what he said plus more! He took the time to save my very important files (and those cherished photos!) Now my 7 yo MacBook works as good as new! I am very grateful for Manu’s dedication. You would be too!

I am not sure what I would have done without Manu’s help! I got a ransomware virus on my computer, and not only was he able to solve that problem (which was not easy!), but he also saved me from another major issue that would have eventually destroyed my computer. While doing work related to the virus clean up, he noticed that my logic board was corroding because of a liquid spill. He was able to clean that up and save it from corroding beyond the point of no return. He also upgraded my OS and memory, and my computer is running better than ever. I am super grateful for his responsiveness and thoroughness in dealing with my separate issues.

Manu is the man! My computer was totally on the fritz and in about three hours, he had it running like new. Can’t say enough about how awesome he is!

I am totally impressed with the work that Apple & Mac Solutions (and Manuu) did for me recently!!! While in the middle of video editing a number of projects my Macbook Pro became completely unresponsive. Manuu quickly diagnosed the issue (a dead hard drive), and was swift to get me up and running again within the time he claimed he could! He answered his phone, he’d promptly call me back with information if he missed my call which was incredibly refreshing. But most importantly he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, displayed a good sense of humor, and got my computer back to me as soon as he could which helped my work process in terms of my deadlines. AND my laptop runs far better and faster than I would’ve expected it to do. Manuu also gave me great information and made suggestions as to what would best suit my needs when I’m able to update my system.

Mannu helped me fix my hard drive issue in 5 minutes with help remotely! I gave him a call expecting a huge quote and hassle of getting IT support but he walked me through it in the most easy to understand way.
Prior to calling Mannu, I had tried for a few hours on different approaches I googled and nothing worked. I should have called him first!

Manu and co. are very cool, straight forward and helpful. I had water damage on my 1 year old mac and got an estimate with another computer repair person who said several things needed to be replaced at it was going to be about $ 700. Manu cleaned the corrosion from the processor and my computer is working perfectly again (hopefully it stays this way!!). When I picked it up i used it for a day and then the mouse/​trackpad stopped worked. He had told me that the repair covered a 4 month warranty on any problem that came up relating to the repair. So I gave it back to him and it turned out the trackpad cable (?) needed to be replaced. So he replaced it and dropped it off to me, free of additional charge.

I was browsing the internet one evening and all of a sudden an obnoxious window popped up that said something like «Click OK to run a backup of your OS system». Suspecting that this was some sort of scam, I did not hit OK, but tried everything I could to get the window to go away. Nothing worked — not quitting Safari or restarting my computer (the «OK» message just came back every time I re-​opened my browser). Luckily I found Manu, gave him a call, and he assured me he could fix the problem and not to worry. Early the next morning I took my computer to him and he fixed it quickly while I waited. Thank you so much!!!

Eep! I dropped my computer in the middle of midterms. It was totally inoperable and I had no idea what was wrong or what to do with. I called Mannu and he had his assistant meet me the next day. They totally worked around my schedule and were super communicative about about the problem. It turned out my hard drive was totally fried. Mannu fixed it quickly, efficiently and even threw in some screws that had been missing from the back of the computer.
Everything works great! And I couldn’t be more satisfied. Definitely recommend him and spreading the word amongst my friends that own Macs. Thanks for the great service.

My Macbook was very out of date. I bought it in 2008 and hadn’t done too many updates since then. But my new software heavy job required the use of my personal laptop and this little machine got very overwhelmed very quickly. It was running really slow, our of memory, having trouble connecting to a wireless printer, and needing an OS update to Yosemite from Lyon (or even older).
Manu works in my co-​working office and what a savior he was! I randomly mentioned the issues I was having and he instantly started fixing my computer. I was very impressed with how dedicated he was to helping me and making sure all my issues were resolved. He found and purchased the correct RAM for my computer and then installed it for me. He showed me how to do a backup and then updated my OS to Yosemite. He also fixed my printer issue, which 2 other IT professionals could not resolve.
I highly recommend trusting Manu with any Mac and he’s a great resource for all those «stupid» IT questions that you’re too embarrassed to ask your friends.

Manu went above and beyond trying to fix an issue with my imac. He spent tons of time on it (had to bring it back a few times) found the problem, fixed it… and charged me peanuts. I’ll have a new computer guy!

Manu was great! Easy to work with, was available at all hours, offered to meet me and pick up the laptop if needed. After we found out the laptop was toast he continued to provide his expertise giving me suggestions on how to save $$ on the next laptop and how I could sell parts off the broken laptop. A few things happen when your laptop crashes and burns and you are staring at your black screen poking the restart button. Helpless and alone, it occurs to you that you can’t remember the last time you «backed it up». Then the second alarm goes off, and you wonder — who in the hell do I call to fix this? I am NOT sitting at genius bar with a smiley face car salesman wearing an apple t-​shirt.
I found Manu on trusty Unilocal.All of his reviews were 5 stars. Which says a lot in this world of whiners. But its true. He deserves it.
In my younger corporate working days I would drop the laptop off to the nearest IT person and they would grunt and look at me like I was insanely low tech. How could I have done something so wrong. Damn Macs — the would say. You should have a PC. So I was feeling sheepish and apprehensive to contact Manu. Sure all the reviews said he was good at what he did, but I was also completely prepared for the IT attitude. It didn’t happen.
Manu works in this cool work space in Oakland. He was able to take my lap top right away, and in person — in the lobby, and he actually tried some trouble shooting diagnostics while doing the same for another poor soul at the same time. He ended up having to take the laptop and spend a few days on it.
He called me when he knew what was happening and to go over the problems. Called me to confirm price, and called me when it was done. And in person went over everything so I understood what was going on in a very constructive manor.
I can safely say, that he has replaced what was necessary for this lap top, updated what he could, and I have a very new feeling computer that is operating splendidly. I wish him the best of success, and thankful that I scored a great find in such a pleasant and knowledgeable proprietor. Would give him 6 stars if I could. thanks Manu!

I cannot say enough about the amazing, conscientious, caring and reasonably priced service Manu provided for my Mac.
Manu was utterly rigorous in investigating and repairing my computer. He went above and beyond– devoting many hours to discovering what made my Mac run incredibly slowly.
Knowing I needed to travel and desperately needed my Mac for a presentation, he accommodated my schedule constraints repeatedly. He advised me up front about all charges, and instructed me carefully about steps I needed to take to protect my computer’s future functionality.
He also gently but firmly insisted I back up all my work, and told me how to obtain the most affordable external hard drive possible, as well as advising me on how I could save money and offering to walk me through the back up process, when he could have easily exploited my ignorance and charged me for it.
I have never experienced a higher quality of service, dedication and clear communication from a service vendor before, period. You simply should not take your Mac to any other repair anywhere else in the Bay Area. He is a vendor with integrity and truly respects people’s investments in their machines and the work they need to do with their computers. Manu is fabulous! Don’t go anywhere else!

My wife unknowingly got part of her MacBook Pro keyboard wet. Weeks afterward the whole computer stopped working due to corrosion. We called Manu based on recommendations from Unilocal and the Unilocal Review Gods saved us once again. We called on a Sunday afternoon, and he was the only vender to return our call the same day. We were panicking because my wife had a major presentation that Tuesday for work. Manu agreed to take the computer and get an assessment to us back that day. We told him about the reasons for needing the computer by Tuesday, and he made heroic efforts to get the project done.
I view the dividing line between good and great customer service to be when a vendor takes the context for your request into account and goes the extra mile to get the work done because you are depending on them, and they deliver accordingly. Manu and his team were a great example of this. For a very affordable price, and on a miraculous timetable, he got the computer back to her in time for the presentation and working.
A software problem was discovered on the computer in addition to the hardware getting wet. Manu and his team discovered it and explained some possible solutions in language I could understand but that wasn’t condescending or dismissive. So many tech people seem lost in their own world and unable to relate to people outside their industry: Manu is just the opposite. He’s the kind of rare person who upon meeting you want to invite to a party or hang out an get a pint with, but whose expertise and professionalism reassures you you are getting the highest quality service possible. His friendliness doesn’t ever undermine the professionalism or your confidence in his ability to get the job done right.
It turned out the software problem was one another Mac and Apple Repair place in Berkeley had charged us over $ 100 to fix, and failed to do so properly. Manu again quoted a reasonable price, and honored the quote even though he ended up needing to take far more time to fix it than he realized.
All our time is valuable. Don’t waste yours anywhere else with Apple and Mac computer repair issues. Call Manu.
