Continental Caterers

We’re so glad we chose Continental to cater our wedding. We worked with Hristo and the manager for our event was Cynthia. We attended two tastings (one regular and one vegetarian) in order to choose our menu. Hristo helped us to finalize the menu, figure out the floorplan, and coordinate with the rental company. His experience with our venue (Gamble Garden in Palo Alto) was extremely helpful.
Before the wedding, they let us bring items to their warehouse to load on the delivery truck (drinks, favors, games, decorations). This saved us a lot of time and hassle on the wedding day. The day before the wedding, Continental met the rental company at the venue to coordinate the load-​in and set up the outdoor lights and heaters. On the day of the wedding, they arrived at the venue on time and worked very efficiently. Everything was set up on time and looked great. During the event, the serving staff was very professional and friendly. I really appreciated that they set aside appetizers for us to enjoy once we were done taking photos — we were starving! During dinner, the serving staff was very attentive and made sure we had whatever we needed. All of the food was delicious and the guests raved about it. There was more than enough food, and the staff packed up the leftovers for us to take home.
I appreciated that Continental was upfront about their pricing, their contract was clear, and they don’t charge extra fees like cake cutting or corkage. I was very impressed by their food and their service for our event.

Niloufer was absolutely AMAZING@ I know it’s just been said but it is the only word to describe her! We had a surprise graduation party for our daughter in our backyard. She came over to our house, sized up the backyard and immediately set it up visually for us. It was perfect, beautiful, inviting and upscale casual! Simple elegance! We were catering to three different generations — 30’s, 50’s and 70 – 80 year old crowd. She made it perfect for everyone The food was amazing. We had tabled appetizers and passed hors d’oeuvres. We loved the scallops, the wild mushroom ravioli, crab cakes, just a wide variety of food that included vegetarian items. All of it was delicious! We gave her a list of all of our daughter’s favorite foods and she came up with a beautiful menu. The presentation was gorgeous! She gave a simple suggestion that we put a few strands of warm white Xmas tree type lights in our trees and it became magical!!!
In the months leading up to the party Niloufer immediately responded to any questions, ideas, etc. Her estimations were spot on. We felt so relieved knowing she would handle everything. It gave us peace of mind throughout the entire process, prior to our first meeting all the way until after the party. Because it was a surprise party, she had to make sure her staff and catering vehicles were out of sight when our daughter arrived. One of her staff even took the pictures for us as our daughter came in the front door! And… they turned out nice. :)
Her staff was fabulous too. Greg, Eddie, David and Alma did everything possible to make the party run smoothly. They helped to bring food to the elderly group that were seated together, some of whom really couldn’t traverse the lawn to get to the food. Our setting and party was more casual than a wedding would be but we wanted it elegant. The staff just fit right in! They were funny, kind, very attentive and anticipated our every need. They helped get us set up with the «after party» so the event was seamless as they transitioned out. When we asked about something, Niloufer and her staff already had it under control! She was 10 steps ahead every step of the way.
Niloufer and her staff far exceeded our expectations. It made it so much fun and we were able to enjoy our own party, guests, the food, everything. She was creative and we loved all of her suggestions. She immediately sized up what we were looking for and ran with it. We would use Niloufer, her staff (and Continental Catering) again in a heartbeat. We can say without any hesitation at all that you need not look any further if you want a beautiful event, hands off, peace of mind and delicious food.
Niloufer, Greg, Eddie, David and Alma: Thank you to all of you for a beautiful and memorable event. Our daughter wrote a beautiful thank you card to us and said she’d hire Continental Catering in a second and that you made her feel very special all night long. She said it is an event she will remember for a lifetime. :)

Niloufer was AMAZING! I worked with her from the start of our wedding planning process, and she has only been completely helpful and responsive. When choosing caterers, it also gave me a peace of mind to know that Continental Caterers was familiar with my venue (they’ve done countless weddings at Hillsborough Racquet Club) and also my DJ (Big Fun DJs), so I knew I wouldn’t have any problems with the vendors all working closely together especially on the wedding day.
Niloufer handled all the day-​of coordination for us too, and that was a huge help. Paul, the owner, even showed up on our wedding day to make sure everything ran smoothly, so that was nice!
Everyone raved about the food — we LOVED the hors d’oeuvres and the Chilean sea bass. I would recommend Continental Caterers (and Niloufer) to any wedding couple looking for high quality and reliable food + service!!!

And lastly, I cannot say thank you enough for making sure our dessert table stayed filled and beautiful. That was very important to me, and I loved how the entire dessert room turned out.

I can’t begin to describe how happy my husband and I are to have chosen Continental Caterers for our wedding. We knew from our first experience at their food tasting event that we wanted them to cater at our wedding. However, because they were the first caterers we met, we thought we should venture out to see what else was out there. We met with a few others, but no other caterer came even close to our first tasting experience with Continental. Their food is absolutely amazing! The service and personal attention was also unlike any other. They are so approachable and professional. They are a bit more costly than other catering companies but BELIEVE ME… IT IS WORTH IT!
Niloufer Bassa was our day coordinator. She was absolutely amazing. I can’t quite explain what an angel she was during this process. From the very beginning she was very approachable and reassuring. Believe me when I say, they take care of everything. You don’t have to worry about anything because all of your concerns will be taken care of prior to the day of the event. The team also worked very hard and efficiently. These guys are professionals and they have everything down. On our wedding day, our only duty was to have a good time and spend time with our loved ones. These guys went beyond our expectations. I will definitely keep these guys in he radar for future events. THEY ARE GREAT!!!

Wedding this month was the talk of the evening as well as his pleasant wait staff and bartenders. Then they help you at the end of the evening when you need to take some decorations etc down. Hiring Paul takes a lot of the anxiety out of the night.

At an event I attended we used continental caterers and one caterer especially stood out if I remember correctly his name was Frank Zolotoff. He was very friendly and professional

We recently had a backyard brunch for over 100 people. Continental Caterers was just outstanding. Niloufer is the person in charge. Everything we asked her about received a yes answer. Yes, she would do and could do everything we wanted done. And she did! The food was excellent. The staff was also. They were very courteous and seemed please to do whatever a guest requested. They came on time and cleaned everything up on time. I can’t imagine using anyone else.

We are so glad that we chose Continental Caterers for our wedding! From the first tasting, I knew they would be a great company to work with. We did shop around with other caterers, but always came back to Continental. Paul and his team are fantastic! They are professional and very patient! We must have made changes to our menu a few times, and they were always willing to accommodate our requests. The food was delicious and presented nicely, and all of our guests enjoyed it.
Our event manager was Mike Reinig. When I found out that Mike was going to oversee our event, I was a little concerned just because I had been working with Paul and Niloufer pretty much throughout the entire planning process, and wasn’t sure if he would know everything that was discussed with them… but Mike was awesome!!! Even our guests loved him! He made the entire night run smoothly. He was very attentive, was always checking in with us, and wanted to make sure I was getting enough to eat. Since eating is hard to do with so much going on, they were kind enough to box up food for us to take at the end of the night.
I highly recommend Continental Caterers! You will definitely be in good hands!

Continental caterers is the absolute best around! I had multiple rave referrals before checking them out and the second my husband and I checked them out to use for our wedding we knew they were the one! There food is delicious and Paul and his staff are wonderful! Professional, timely and provide great suggestions. Our wedding day went off without a single problem and the guests keep telling me how much they loved the food! Thank you continental for helping make our wedding the day we had dreamed!

Continental Caterers catered our wedding at Kohl Mansion last September and I cannot praise them enough. We worked mostly with Paul Alexander throughout the process and he was an amazing, calming presence the whole time. We had a week-​of coordinator but really it felt like Paul was doing that job, too. He had so much great input about the timeline of events and he met with us many times to make sure we had remembered everything to keep our guests happy and comfortable — not just well fed.
And as far as feeding us… Wow. Every bit of food was incredibly delicious. We were dreaming of the food ever since the tasting, and of course we didn’t get a chance to eat much during the wedding but afterwards he had packed some leftovers for our room which we devoured. Also, after the ceremony when our guests were at cocktail hour and we were taking our photos, he brought us over a plate of hors d’oeuvres to hold us over. Many of our guests said it was the best food they’d ever had. Our guests still bring it up, and they were all sharing tastes of their dishes on the night of. My husband and I are vegan and vegetarian and so were several of our guests — they were not disappointed! One of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had.
This last weekend we were a guest at a wedding that Continental was catering so we got to experience Paul and his team as wedding guests. First of all we were stoked because we actually got to eat our entire delicious meals this time! And second of all everything ran so smoothly and his staff was incredibly gracious and attentive. It was a wonderful experience.
Paul really knows how to coordinate a team of vendors (as well as parents) without offending anyone but he is not afraid to express his opinion. He will tell you if a piece of fabric doesn’t look right or if a glass won’t be classy enough. Although he’s busy he never makes you feel like you’re wasting his time. He gives you full attention and he is so thorough. You can trust him and you can trust that anything he is in charge of will turn out well. He was an incredibly reliable vendor and a joy to work with.

Absolutely the BEST!
I knew at the first phone call that I wanted to work with Wendy on my son’s bar mitzvah. She is totally professional, unflappable, friendly, warm, knowledgable. She spent lots of time with me on the phone and meeting in person to talk about how we would like the luncheon to be. She gave us great suggestions and understood that we wanted to have a warm, delicious, but not over-​the-​top party. She answered every phone call, every email promptly and with exactly the info we needed. Wendy understood that we did not have an unlimited budget and helped us find ways to throw a gracious party and keep the costs reasonable.
The room looked beautiful, the food was exceptional and the service provided by Wendy, her manager Hristo, and the whole staff at our event was excellent. Our guests absolutely raved about the scrumptious food (when does that ever happen at a bar mitzvah?!) and the flawless service! They even packed our car up with leftovers and had the synagogue’s kitchen spotless when they left.
Wendy and Continental Caterers made our party perfect! We will definitely call them when we do this again for our daughter.

We were very very happy to have Continental Caterers at our wedding last October (10÷9÷2011) at Thomas Fogarty Winery.
Paul and his team went above and beyond in every way to make the day flawless. Multiple people said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding as well (us included). People have even raved about the food now up to a year after our wedding.
Our family is a combination of different ethnicities (Indian, German, Peruvian) and diet restrictions (vegetarian, vegan) that we wanted to make sure were represented. Paul and company were creative in working with us and superb in making all the dishes delicious and spectacularly beautiful.
From the beginning of planning through the the day of our wedding we were so grateful to have Continental Caterers because of the attention to detail and the quality of the food. We enjoyed the tastings, planning, and working with Paul. He made suggestions and was flexible. Everything was seamlessly organized, elegant, and professional with utmost pride in the team’s work. They created flavors, colors, and a professional ambiance that was perfect for our wedding and site.
We were able to provide our own drinks and have them prepared with sugar rims. Paul was patient with our decision making and flexible with scheduling times to meet. We appreciated that after selecting the food options and doing tastings we had a meeting to go through the day events and Paul was very familiar with the site and the other vendors that typically are there. He gave really helpful suggestions and has impeccable taste and a passion for his work that was inspiring throughout the preparations. We left the experience feeling incredibly grateful that we were so fortunate to have Continental Caterers and always recommend them to friends.

Mike at Continental Catering was the awesome at our wedding. From our very first meeting at a wedding fair at our venue, he was engaging, funny, and really put us at ease.
We attended two of their monthly tastings and upon that were able to come up with a menu that suited our tastes and budget. Mike also worked seamlessly with the rental company insuring everything t was crossed and i was dotted.
We also really appreciate his help in helping save on cost (i.e. renting one set of chairs and having them move them from the ceremony to the reception areas – which was done fairly inconspicuously)
Overall, the food was tasty, we and our guests had an amazing time and we really have to hand it to Mike for being thoughtful and detailed and really making us feel that he was on our side to see us through what can be a very crazy day.

Continental Caterers was absolutely the best choice for our wedding at Thomas Fogarty Winery last month. I would give Paul and company more than 5 stars if I could. I can keep the compliments going for a while. Every way you would expect your caterer to help make your event a success, Paul made sure staff went a step further. Continental Caterers did a wonderful job taking care of us and our guests.
Food was definitely something that we felt was the most important thing in our wedding aside from the venue. I did not want to settle for average wedding food, especially since we were not going to have a giant Chinese reception banquet. After making inquiries and meeting with five or six caterers, Continental Caterers definitely stood out. Tastings were fun and they were able to accommodate changes in our crazy schedules. They are true professionals. We had no need to hire a wedding planner or day of coordinator.
Paul is the owner and an absolute pleasure to work with from our first interaction to the end of our event. He and his staff are very familiar with our venue, the specific rules and regulations of the winery as well as the town of Woodside. Paul made helpful suggestions, ordered the china, linens, other rentals for us, coordinated with our other vendors, had experience with weddings of our size, not to mention excellent taste and ensured everything was perfect. Things came up the day of our wedding that could have been a headache were taken care of seamlessly and efficiently by Paul.
Our wedding day turned out to be windy and a little chilly in the late afternoon. Paul and staff moved the outdoor reception that was already set up beautifully in the Pavilion to the Hill House quickly and flawlessly. The fireplace was lit to ensure a cozy and inviting environment for our guests. Staff working our event were incredibly courteous, kind, and personable. We truly appreciated all the things they did for us. Paul and staff paid great attention to detail and have unmatched professional efficiency and impeccable service in my opinion. Paul stayed for the entire event.
We may have paid more for Continental Caterers but it was worth every penny. We love that we had the option to buy our own beverages. Many of our guests said the food was «the best wedding good ever» ~ simply delicious and beautifully presented, not to mention the exceptional service. I enthusiastically recommend Continental Caterers for your wedding or special event and look forward to the opportunity to work with them again.

Continental Caterers was perfect for our wedding. SO many people said afterwards that the food was amazing (and we did actually eat so I can attest it was delicious) which is often not the case for a wedding. Yes we did pay more with this caterer but I have to say that paying more meant the food was much better and that mattered a lot to me that the food would be good.
Not only that but they really did a great job of taking care of us and all of our guests from giving us the appetizers we missed during cocktail hour to doing wine service during dinner.
We worked with Hristo exclusively and he was so great to answer all of my emails with questions and concerns. The staff that worked the event were incredibly courteous, kind and very personable. We appreciated all of the little things they did like setting up the double buffet table so that the lines would move quickly (who wants to wait for food??), passing out ice cream for our dessert and what seemed like a flawless transition of tables and chairs (but maybe I was distracted?). Many of the staff even told me that it was a beautiful set up — and for someone who had planned everything… it was nice to hear!
I would absolutely recommend Continental Caterers for your wedding — they were excellent!

Continental Caterers food and service are amazing. My wedding guests are still calling to rave about the delicious, beautifully presented food and exceptional service. These facts alone would be enough to recommend them, but Continental also has Wendy Kleckner.
Wendy is passionate about her business and works tirelessly to make her events perfect. She will help design an outstanding menu. She has absorbed detailed information about venues and can make recommendations for her clients’ events from her real experiences. Even outside catering requirements, she knows what elements are important or not important for an event and she will happily share her knowledge with clients if they wish. Her advice for my event (the whole wedding, not just the reception!) was spot on. I am so grateful to her.
Of equal importance, Wendy provides a voice of calm and reassurance for future brides. She caters countless events, but Wendy will always make you feel like you are her only client. I have to believe every client probably asks the same set of questions, but Wendy will answer enthusiastically and kindly like she’s never had to do so before. She will do all of this quickly and concisely, clients never wait for a reply from Wendy.
Wendy is the best in the business. When vendors work well together, the entire process of planning an event is easier. Every person I worked with, from floral to band leader had worked previously with Wendy and were excited and happy to work with her again. I would do so in a heartbeat.

Wendy is really great at making events easily planned with exceptional taste. She offers suggestions for other vendors with ease and is truly a nice, helpful, honest person who really wants your party to go off without a hitch. She is patient with changes and doesn’t charge for some extras that are often tacked on by other caterers. I really have enjoyed working with her.

I don’t have enough good things to say about Continental Caterers! We hired them for our wedding at the Thomas Fogarty winery, and everything went off with a bang. The Continental and Fogarty staff work together frequently and all know each other, so they’ve gotten all the kinks worked out.
My husband and I both work crazy hours and were planning the wedding in less that 5 months, so we needed a caterer who could make our lives simpler. Mike Reinig went above and beyond his duties in helping us plan a beautiful wedding that my husband and I actually enjoyed. We thought about hiring a wedding planner, but we’re glad we didn’t because Mike basically served as our wedding planner. He told us where to be and when and what to do. We didn’t even have to think about it. And in what could have been a minor emergency, Mike even sewed up the train on my dress. Yes, the CATERER sewed up my dress!
I also have Celiac disease, but they worked around my gluten allergy without a fuss. Pretty much the entire menu at our wedding was gluten-free…and none of our guests cared or even noticed! The food was yummy (and yes, I got to eat! Mike made sure of that).
Paul, the chef, helped us create a delicious menu that appealed to all guests, including vegetarians. There were more than enough options to choose from, even in the gluten-​free category. Usually wedding food is so-​so, but their food was genuinely tasty!
The best part of the whole experience is that my husband and I actually enjoyed our wedding without too much stress! It truly was the best day of our lives. Continental Caterers played a huge role in making that happen, so we’re thankful we decided to go with them!

We chose Continental Caterers for our wedding at the Fogarty Winery in October 2010. In every way that you would hope a caterer would help make your event a success, Paul made sure they went a step further. I would give more than 5 stars to this rating if I could.
First, of course, a good caterer must make excellent food. They worked with us to create the perfect menu, making personal adjustments to several menu items to reflect our tastes. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our guests *still* comment to us (unsolicited!) about how amazing the food was at our wedding!
Plus, working with Paul was an absolute pleasure from the first interaction through the event. He and the staff knew our venue very well and were able to make smart suggestions about layout for the tables and bar. He also helped us place the order for the china and linens, and his familiarity with the venue, experience with weddings of our size and excellent taste ensured that everything was done just right. Tasks that could easily have been a big headache to sort through were made wonderful by Paul.
On the day of our wedding, it rained. No matter. Paul was way ahead of me and moved the ceremony and dining set up to accommodate the change in weather, even lighting a fire in the fireplace to make sure the space felt great for guests.
In advance of the wedding, we were worried that we might not have time to enjoy the delicious passed hors d’oeuvres because we’d be off taking pictures and signing our ketubah. We had no need to worry. When my husband and I snuck a few minutes alone after the ceremony, Paul brought us champagne and two of each of the hors d’oeuvres so we could be sure to enjoy them. What a delight!
Our wedding day was truly beautiful, and Continental Caterers played a huge role in making that happen for us. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone and look forward to the opportunity to work with them again.
