I called KMAC on a Saturday and left a message. I was very pleased that the owner Kevin called me back after not too long a setup an appointment for Monday. I came home on my lunch break and was disappointed that the repairman called me 20 minutes after the scheduled appointment to tell me it’d be another 10 – 15 minutes before he would arrive at my residence.
After he arrived, it only took about 15 minutes to get it going again which was great but not a lot was explained to me. I was left a little irritated because I don’t feel $ 160 worth of work was done. I will always pay what is due and I understand that getting an electrician, plumber, or in this case a AC repairman to come out has a flat fee. However, 15 min of labor, $ 85 service fee, and a $ 20 part shouldn’t constitute a $ 160 bill. I called just to verify the break down of the cost and to clarify that my system did not need anymore repairs. The owner Kevin was polite and explained what was wrong with my system. I didn’t complain about the price but I don’t feel it was it was a reasonable fee. I will be looking elsewhere for future AC work. You let me down Unilocal

If you need a trustworthy AC Professional, Kevin is your guy. After purchasing my home 1 year ago, my heater has never worked properly, causing me to use the emergency heat option in the winter (which costs a small fortune). Kevin came out and worked on the unit for an hour or so and advised he would need a second pair of eyes to ensure he had it fixed the first time. He came back the next morning and my unit is working properly! The last AC guy told me I would need to spend $ 700-​$ 800 to fix the unit, Kevin fixed it without having to replace the part, ultimately saving me $ 500. I am a KMAC customer for life.

I’ve referred Kevin many times to my clients and just used him on my own personal home. My AC unit is OLD, in fact it’s almost as old as I am. But Kevin didn’t push me for installing a new unit, he added more freon and when I asked him for a quote on a new AC he provided me with one so I could start planning. I really appreciated his honest and speedy service.

Kevin goes above and beyond for us! He has since come out to check our system twice and the second time was our dogs fault. Call KMAC!

I’ve used KMAC 3 times since 2012. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I’ve had him do large jobs and small jobs, and he always amazes me with his efficiency and great prices. He is very honest and straight forward, and you never feel like you’re getting swindled.
It all started one Summer in 2012 when my rental home in Pflugerville was the subject of a severe storm. A bolt of lightning hit the backyard ground and caused a full home surge which took out a lot of things including the thermostat and other electronics. KMAC came out to visit my tenant, replaced the thermostat with a spare we had and then discovered the unit was low on Puron. He filled it all up and charged a reasonable service charge. Regrettably, hours later, the house wasn’t cooling again. Kevin noticed that the Puron was low again. That is when we all started scratching our heads as nothing appeared to be leaking. Kevin found out that a copper line in the wall had burst due to the lightning strike. Regrettably, this copper wire was running behind the kitchen range tile backsplash and accessing it would’ve required significant tile work and possible removal of cabinets and the range. Kevin decided he could re-​run the copper wires against the side of the house, through the attic and then tap back in. He did all of this which included a substantial amount of expensive copper, refilled the Puron and everything for $ 600. I asked my uncle who is a GC in Nevada about the work, and he was blown away that Kevin did all of it for $ 600, citing the cost of the copper as very notable.
Another year or two later, there was a problem with electronics in my rental home’s heating system. He fixed it quickly for a reasonable service charge.
This year, my home unit wasn’t performing well, so I got KMAC out. He came out with hours and said my 15 year old units were 3 pounds low of R22 (the expensive stuff). He refilled all three pounds for a very reasonable per pound price and waived the service fee. He also cleaned my coils and did a basic check of everything else. I’m happy to report my differential temperature went down by 8 degrees and cooling has improved. I looked up the price he charged me per pound of R22 and it was the lowest I saw anywhere else, and the fact that he didn’t charge a service fee as well made it an absolute great value.
Kevin is a good you can call and trust you’re getting the best service, very high quality work and a price that is completely inline and appropriate. You don’t need to worry about getting swindled or taken to the cleaners.
When I first used KMAC, he didn’t have a very big Unilocal presence. When I called last week, I was worried his popularity would make him difficult to schedule or seemingly in a hurry, but that was not the case. I got him out the day I called, he arrived 10 minutes before his scheduled time and did not seem like he was in a rush, he was incredibly thorough and patient. It was the usual KMAC A+ service I’ve always had!
I’m sure I’ll need new units installed in the next 5 years. I’ll use KMAC for sure!

I had another contractor out cleaning my air ducts and «coincidentally» my A/​C goes out while their cleaning. Called KMAC immediately and Kevin came out in about an hour to assess whether the contractor was the cause or if it was time to replace the unit. Kevin could have easily said it was time to replace my A/​C and I would have believed him since he had been out a couple of months prior to give me a quote to replace the entire unit. Quick, friendly, fair, and honest… that is why they are worth 5 stars.

What a gret experience. My AC broke on an August Sunday, right in the middle of the day. These guys were the only ones that answered immediately and sent a technician within the hour, with no emergency fee or anything like that. CJ whas our technician, and boy, he’ such a great guy, fast, accurate, transparent, respectul, fair.
Pricing was very reasonable.

Excellent service! Gave us a 1:00 pm appointment & called to let us know a technician could be over at 10:00 am due to rescheduling. Within 5 mins of arriving, problem diagnosed & he was in and out of the house within 30 minutes! House was immediately cool! Very fair pricing & they tell you exactly what you need & don’t need at the moment. Very glad we called them! They will be our go-​to AC repair company from now on!

Called KMAC this morning due to A/​C unit not cooling properly. Come to find out my unit was still under parts warranty. So CJ told me to call the installer because it would be a little cheaper for me. It’s not everyday in this day and age that you find people that aren’t not trying to take you for a ride when it comes to making money! Yet I must say that KMAC will be on speed dial from here on out! Best customer experienced in a very long time.

I had called several places who all put me on a list and would «get to me when they could.» I called KMAC Friday afternoon and they sent CJ within an hr. He showed me all the steps he was doing to test my unit. He was also training a young man. I was especially impressed with the way he spoke to him. They fixed it for a fair price and made me a customer for life.

Polite, clean-​cut, does good work. What else could you want? Just call. :o)

Good company here! CJ was here when he said he wold be. Told me exactly what he was going to do. Then came back with the needed parts and finished the repair quickly. I definitely recommend them!

Kevin came out for an emergency call within hours of calling him. Had some issues with my warranty program but Kevin was able to get our heat going which was a HUGE concern since we have a newborn. I would recommend them to everyone.

Like Unilocal says, «Yay! I’m a fan!» Definitely a small operation in Austin — the owner, Kevin, and a single employee plus his wife that helps with the scheduling. Kevin was able to make it out to my 86 degree place within an hour of calling, and 10 minutes later I had cool air and on my way back down to a comfortable temperature. Bonus, they spelled my name right on the invoice (that –ie is just so tricky.)
$ 85 service/​diagnosis charge, his business card says free second opinions, and $ 250 to replace the capacitor (and the service charge is dropped) and some basic maintenance.
The only downside is that he was so quick, I have to go into work now. :P I’ll definitely keep him in mind for next time.

I can’t recommend Kevin enough. I started using Kevin when he was recommended to me by another Realtor. I have used him since that time. Kevin is honest, fair, prompt & just an all around good guy.
He has helped several clients & friends. He’s also the one I call if anything happens with my own system.

My A/​C was not cooling properly. The temperature kept going up. I went to check the filter and it was soaking wet. I turned to Unilocal! I found KMAC and WOW! They promised me a time, I got a call prior to arrival with arrival time. CJ was on time, educated us about services, recharged my A/​C, flushed my drain line, and told us what to look out for in case we need to follow up with them. In talking to CJ I found out he was a veteran and has been in this line of business for quite sometime. He was knowledgeable and friendly. I now have their number saved in my phone and I will definitely call them again… But hopefully not for awhile.

Called KMAC to schedule an appt for an issue with our AC. Wasnt expecting a same day appt due to the time of year. Kevin showed up at the time stated, corrected the issue and then educated us on the current issue and offered honest advice for future expectations and his recommendations.
In a field of work where you one could easily take advantage of you its good to know there are honest, reputable companies such as KMAC out there.

Air conditioning unit died Friday day after what seemed like a long and painful death. It didn’t come as a total shock, but even when you are expecting such things it is still a b*^ch. Considering the holiday weekend we didn’t call until Tuesday afternoon. Kevin at KMAC called back and arranged to be out today between 8:30 and 9:00. He arrived at approximately 8:30 !!! On time!!. Took a look at the AC and diagnosed the problem. Seems the coil unit was bad so a replacement would cost quite a bit of money and would need to be installed, vents cut, etc. etc. I was expecting the usual «well, I have to order it and will likely not get in until end of week so we can probably set something up for next Monday…» Not KMAC, he told me he would be back in a couple hours to intall the new unit and I almost fell to the floor. He was back (on time), went about his business, had the new unit installed, lines cleaned out, etc.
All told, the time from our initial telephone call to the time of a working air conditioner was less than 24 hours! Couldn’t be happier with the service, the fair handedness, and the reasonable/​fair pricing. Very happy the first guy didn’t call back because I doubt the service could compare.
If you have an AC problem it will be well worth your time to give Kevin at KMAC a call. He will treat your fairly.
