Hummingbird House

The Hummingbird House exceeded our expectations for our New Years Eve wedding. First off, the venue is beautiful. Courtney and Danny worked overtime to have that place looking like spring in December. They were also very professional and easy to reach. Anytime we had a question or changed our minds on something, they were extremely accommodating. I can also not stress how important and life saving it was to have Courtney as a day of coordinator. At times during the wedding where I thought I was going to lose my mind, Courtney was calm and cool as she kept things moving. I could brag about this place all day, from the staff, to the attention to detail, or even how much we loved the bridal and grooms suites. I have even already told 2 couples I know to look at this place. To sum it up, this place was simply amazing and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gorgeous, affordable, and all around awesome venue!

The Hummingbird House staff, and esp Courtney and Danny make this the BEST wedding venue in Austin. Actually, probably the entire universe. The venue is so beautiful, esp all the new additions to the tent and grounds. Our wedding was more than I could have ever hoped for, exceeded every expectation I had. It was the best day ever, all because of this place. If you’re looking to get married in Austin, and want to have people telling you for days and days after that it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, go see Courtney & book this place!!!

Hummingbird House stole my heart the as soon as we drove up! It’s even more beautiful than the photographs… truly enchanting! We loved that the bridal suite had it’s own mini salon seating and a fun, modern design that was great for photographs! The guys got their own room stocked with foosball, beer pong table, tv… great dude’s space.
The grounds are an absolute fairytale! A tropical paradise meets English garden. The way the nature guides you from one area to another provides a perfect setup and flow for the whole day. And there are so many secret nooks and crannies to sneak away to for stunning «secret garden» photographs!
Courtney was an absolute dream to work with! SUCH a sweetheart and really knew how to put you at ease. She was so quick in returning communication via email and always willing to help. I hired her as the Day Of Coordinator and couldn’t have been happier! She had everything under control, knew the space and how to manage everything coming and going, and also made sure I was calm and at ease.
My experience with Hummingbird House was perfect in every way. I was a little nervous after reading reviews about their jerk neighbors, but I was reassured that it had been dealt with, and sure enough, it was a non-​issue! I’m so thankful for my experience with this place and would absolutely recommend Hummingbird House to anyone!

We had our wedding at Hummingbird House on 9÷12÷2015 and I cannot say enough amazing things about the venue and Courtney. I know I’m biased, but our wedding was absolutely beautiful thanks to the gorgeous setting. Courtney was on top of things from the very beginning. I was as stress free as possible on the day of my wedding and in the weeks leading up to it because she had everything under control. There were a few hiccups with vendors leading up to the ceremony and she took care of them with ease. Throughout the ceremony and reception she was on top of everything. The entire evening ran smoothly and everyone had a fantastic time. If I could give her and Hummingbird House 10 stars, I would!

Hummingbird House is a beautiful garden setting for a wedding. The grounds and facilities are well maintained and exquisite. Courtney took care of all details with a smile and professional efficiency. We could not have been happier. I would highly recommend them!

Not only is this a beautiful place, but Courtney is AMAZING, she truly made our day beyond special. The grounds are perfectly manicured and aside from our centerpieces, we didn’t need any extra flowers or decorations. Courtney was always right there if we needed her and she managed to keep the bridal party together and on track, she truly is a pro!

From the Husband’s side of story:
I’m a terrible procrastinator sometimes and this review is long overdue. My wife and I were married at the Hummingbird House in November, 2013. I can’t say enough about the efforts of Courtney and the staff there. They went above and beyond to make our wedding a memorable event. I know my wife and I will never forget it. We have no regrets about the choice. I still have people commenting about the wedding and how beautiful the Hummingbird House is. I think if we had to plan a wedding all over again, there is no doubt my wife and I would pick the Hummingbird House as the venue. Courtney is fantastic to work with.

I love this place! Courtney was awesome through out and very much on top of things! Our wedding was on the weekend there was a serious flood and it did extensive damage to the bridge nearby and it wrecked HBH’s lush grounds. We’re talking fences were torn, the pool was muddy, the grounds were sopping with mud, etc i didn’t get to see the damage but my husband took a look. he said if i saw it i would’ve freaked out and being the nervous wreck from the bridal frenzy, i probably would’ve had a nervous breakdown… well, actually my second nervous pre-​wedding breakdown. Come wedding day (Sunday), they cleaned it up and you couldn’t even tell that a flood had hit HBH! that’s simply amazing and i know they’ve must’ve busted their tail to make it happen. Our wedding portraits look stunning and our guests had wonderful things to say about HBH. This place is surely a gem and i love the charm the house has. We live in Houston but there’s nothing like this in our town. We’ve looked at other venues in Austin and as soon as I stepped into this place, i knew that this is where i wanted to have my wedding. Good things are happening to this place because it seems like they’re adding new stuff to their grounds. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

I am actually part of the bridal party, but the place was lovely and the owner was amazing and accommodating.

I fell in love with the venue online, and it was absolutely stunning when I finally got to tour it with Courtney. I changed my wedding date (only by a day :)) to make sure I could book this venue. The venue has a lot of amenities that many others didn’t offer (tables, chairs, beautiful grounds), or connections with other vendors to make everything as easy as possible. Courtney was amazing during the entire wedding process, and even though I had hired outside coordinators, she was there every step of the way the day of, immediately getting on the phone and fixing a linen rental mix-​up with the vendor even though they were closed! She was incredibly professional and attentive to details.

Everything about this venue is perfect. It’s beautiful, easy to get to, close to a hotel, great tent to eat and dance under, and Courtney was amazing. Our wedding came out almost perfect.
The one star rating is due to hummingbird house withholding extremely important information. Their neighbors are jerks. All throughout our would be beautiful wedding ceremony their neighbors were blasting party music and radio commercials. I heard a natural male enhancement commercial during my vows. We heard Danger Zone before the ceremony started and thought we could just run over there and ask them to turn off there music for a mere 20 min for our ceremony. I brought it up to Courtney and she nervously explained that this has happened before and if we attempted to ask them to turn down they would get upset and turn the music louder.
My problem with this is that Courtney knew about this and never warned me. I could have offered te neighbors money or done something about avoiding the fiasco, but it seems hummingbird house was too concerned with collecting their small fortune from us. Not to mention they really hustle people out of that place at 11pm which is too early in my opinion and they shouldn’t be so rude about it.
Aside from our ceremony being ruined, we had a great time. Just BEWARE!

As soon as my wife and I stepped onto the grounds, we were in love. We had already looked at several other venues, but none as stunningly beautiful and perfectly arranged as the Hummingbird House. Courtney’s not so bad at selling you on it, either, and for good reason.
The Hummingbird House was in our corner through every step of the process, offering helpful suggestions and making sure that we got everything that we wanted from our wedding experience. Courtney was running 100 mph on the day of the wedding and was way ahead of the game. Any time I tried to remind her of something, she would tell me «I’ve got it. Go be a groom.» After about the 3^rd time I stopped asking and relaxed because I knew it was all taken care of.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that cares about your vision and will work their hardest to make it a reality, you couldn’t do any better than Hummingbird House. They helped make our wedding day everything we wanted it to be and more, and we’ll always be grateful for that.

I’m in love with Hummingbird House. This is probably the most beautiful venue in Austin but I’m biased because they helped me pull of my dream wedding.
Weddings can be stressful but Courtney will be right there with you the entire way. She was amazing. She took care of everything. She was 2 steps ahead and had the whole wedding under control. I want her to be my life coach.

From the moment we first stepped onto the grounds of the Hummingbird House and met Danny, we knew this was the perfect place for our dream wedding. The grounds are breathtaking, and every little detail really makes this place truly magical.
Danny and Courtney are extremely professional, creative, and friendly. I can’t say enough amazing things about these two! They were there when we had any questions or concerns, and they had a plan for everything! They know what they’re doing, they work very hard, and it definitely shows. They made sure we had the wedding we imagined, and most importantly, they made sure the bride was a bride and the groom was a groom on the wedding day!
I highly recommend the Hummingbird House! They will make sure you have a fantastic wedding that will keep your guests raving about it forever!

Hummingbird is the most amazing garden setting for a wedding and at a fraction of the cost of most of the wedding sites my husband and I visited. The gardens are in bloom year-​round and the team works together to keep the grounds, indoor and outdoor venues extremely well-​kept… And that can be a hard thing to do in the Austin heat! It was the perfect setting for our wedding in late May :)
In regards to the team, Danny and Courtney are simply fabulous! They assist throughout the planning process and act as day-​of planners, going above and beyond to make your special event spectacular. They are great with communication (especially email) and follow-​through, very thorough, and help each couple by reviewing vendor contracts so that you don’t experience any unnecessary charges or take on additional stress.
Just one look at the venue and you know this is a special place. An encounter with Danny and Courtney will let you know that it’s run by a caring and exceptional team!

HUMMINGBIRD HOUSE IS AWESOME!
My husband and I got married in April, and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to spend the most important day of our lives.
First off — the Venue itself:
From the gorgeous, flowers to the perfect reception area, this place is incredible. I didn’t spend much time in the groom’s suite, but the bridal suite was huge! 3 full rooms to get ready in plus a large bathroom. One of the rooms is salon style which is a cute touch. In spring, the flowers are insane. I have also been at this venue for my sister-​in-​laws wedding in the fall and the venue was just as beautiful.
The Staff:
These people are the most caring and sincere individuals that I have ever met. Your big day can be stressful, and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. We dropped of decorations the day before. By the day of, everything was perfect, and I didn’t even have to think about it because it was all taken care of.
I did have an incident where my florist (totally separate from this venue) was late, and Danny and Courtney at the Hummingbird House ran around making sure that no matter how late the florist was everything was still going to be perfect for our big day.
From the time we walked in to get ready, to the moment we left in the limo, the staff was by our side helping us through every second.
We rented out the venue for a brunch the following morning and they managed to between 11pm and 11am transform the venue into a gorgeous garden party setting for our family and friends.
Since the wedding I have heard tons of comments about how it was the best venue people had ever been to and how the wedding ran so smoothly. This would not have been possible without the hard work of the staff at the Hummingbird House.
Love this place and hope someone invites me to a wedding soon so I can go back!

We celebrated our wedding here taken along the path by Courtney. Since we booked the place late last year we were treated always with a positive and can do attitude to all the stupid questions we had to ask. We received prompt responses to our multiple calls and emails. A run through all the preparation details showed that they really know how to throw a party.
We provided our decoration (homemade) and shared out vision. We were amazed as how they carried out and how it surpassed our expectations. The place looked beautiful.
Courtney was around and on top of things during the rehearsal, ceremony and reception. We just had to be there and enjoy.
We were also surprised with our getaway car loaded with our change of clothes, wallets, cell phones, camera and everything we needed for our wedding night.
We are extremely happy with the Hummingbird House and their staff.

My sister got married here in November 2011, my fiancé and I loved it so much that we chose to get married here in April 2013.
If you’re planning a wedding I’m sure you’re well aware of how many vendors are involved. I can say that of all the vendors we dealt with the service Danny and Courtney provided at the Hummingbird was the absolute best, hands down. The level of professionalism, support, efficiency, and attention to detail they display is out of this world. Seriously. If I ever get rich and famous I will hire them in a heartbeat to be my managers.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous and MUCH bigger than it looks from photos online. There is plenty of parking, a giant bridal suite, an almost-​just-​as-​big groom’s suite (located on the other side of the property so the bride and groom won’t accidentally bump into each other), and everything’s located on 1 property so guests don’t need to travel in between the ceremony and reception (except to the bar).
My sister’s wedding was in the late Fall and mine was in mid Spring — the place looked incredible both times of the year. What you won’t see on a daytime tour is how beautifully this place lights up at night. It’s like a wonderland.
Also — I believe you can book for many non-​wedding events. We rented it the day after the wedding for a brunch (also awesome).

I am a fellow wedding industry vendor and I have worked at Hummingbird House many times! This venue is absolutely stunning and the team here is amazing to work with. Danny & Courtney are the best that are out there and they work so hard to make each wedding an incredible experience for each bride & groom.
If you are looking for a gorgeous setting for your wedding and an amazing team to execute it, look no further, The Hummingbird House is your place. You will not be disappointed!

Ok – let’s get one thing clear people:
THE HUMMINGBIRD HOUSE IS AWESOME.
I just had my beautiful wedding there on Saturday ⁵⁄₁₂. It truly was an amazing experience for my new husband and I, as well as all of our guests. We were constantly complimented all evening about how beautiful it was and how well things flowed. Everything was perfect… and WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Also, the old Lauren is out and the new Lauren and Courtney are in. They are wonderful along with Mr. Danny Hatt. They literally took care of everything for us. All the tables, all the coordination and packing of gifts and items at the end of the night. My family is old school and they were totally prepared to undress all the linens, pack gifts and carry out all the ceremony accessories. At the end of the night, Danny, Lauren, & Courtney had everything packed in the bridal suite to be picked up the next morning. Once the limo picked up me and my new husband, everyone was able to go home and relax, or in our case — keep the party going. We didn’t have to worry about picking everything up until the next day. It was great, my parents are in their 60’s so I was very grateful they could go home and rest.
Danny completely put me at ease and was just great. Never unnecessarily stressed about anything, and took care of my last minute song of choice for my father/​daughter dance and our last minute lineup for announcements.
Other Austin venues definitely have their work cut out for them – The Hummingbird House will be hard to top!

I am posting this updated review after being contacted by a Mr. Tom T from Hummingbird house. In fact, to be fair, I will copy and paste the email that I received from him on February 12, 2012:
«Diana, thank you so much for your feedback on Unilocal.It was a real wake up call when I read the reviews from you and others about your experience at Hummingbird House. It ended with the termination of Lauren as we do not want our guests to be unhappy. I am hoping that you may consider re-​posting or re-​evaluating our venue as we had a 5 star average until this unfortunate incident, and we have made all the changes necessary to make sure it never happens again. As far as the restroom trailer, we are in the process of building new bathrooms so that it won’t be a problem ever again.»
Though I highly appreciate his concern, I want to point out the DATE that this email was received. He sent it February 12, 2012. The wedding in question occurred in July of 2011. I think that we can all agree that 7 months is NOT taking «immediate action.» Do not believe their claims when they say that they handled it immediately, because they did not. In fact, to this day (May 17, 2012), they really haven’t done much to remedy anything in my opinion.
I believe they have offered the bride and groom a small gift card. However, I do not believe that is sufficient.
Here are my reasons why:
1) They took SEVEN MONTHS to even bother contacting the Bride. 2) Even then, they only did it because these reviews were affecting their business. 3) They should have acted IMMEDIATELY, not 7 months later. 4) They should have refunded the ENTIRE cost of their wedding coordinator, who ruined my friend’s entire wedding.
I know that Hummingbird House is pointing the fingers at Lauren, the wedding coordinator, for the awful service that we experienced. But what you must remember is that Hummingbird House HIRED Lauren to work for them and FORCED her services onto any one who used their venue. THEY were the ones who chose to hire someone incompetent. The Bride complained about this person months before the wedding and Hummingbird house kept implying, «don’t worry. We trust her. It will all work out.» Right.
Now they are trying to put the blame entirely on the wedding coordinator, Lauren and pretend as though they had nothing to do with it. That isn’t fair. THEY hired her. THEY vouched for her. THEY forced the bride to use her services and promised that everything would work out. The bride trusted them, and as a result, her wedding day was ruined.
If I could give them zero stars, I would, because I do not think anyone should risk ruining their wedding day by going with this venue. Also, the fact that they waited 7 months to contact the bride to remedy the situation is ridiculous, unprofessional, and pointless.
Is this venue beautiful? Yes, absolutely.
But is it worth the risk? Absolutely not.
Save yourself the heartache and stay away from this venue.
