I love the Yerba Buena in New York so I thought that it was only right to try the one in PR although I know that there is no affiliation. They have these really huge rocking chairs attached to the table that seat 2 to 4 people. Unfortunately when we arrived they were all taken up so we settled with a regular table outside. They do have fans so that was soothing and the service was really nice here. I started with a crème brûlée martini which was really unique and tasty. For entrees we decided to go with mofongo, chuletas and ropa vieja wrapped in yuca. Everything tasted really good. The chuleta was on the bone and one of the biggest that I have ever seen. It was impossible to finish as it was so much. The mofongo was good as well. Overall this is a nice place to grab dinner and drinks, we were satisfied with the food and the service.

Came by for another chance. I ordered the pork ribs with a guava rum glaze and yuca mofongo. When my food came out the mofongo was nice, crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside. The ribs were cold, I had to ask my waiter to take it back. He came back about 10min later with a new dish, mofongo was still good, but the ribs were not so. The glaze was nice, but the ribs themselves were not very tasty. My co-worker ordered s churassco, and that was very flavorful. We did try their mojitos, and they were good.

So… went in here on a recommendation of hotel staff. Had skirt steak that was«cooked outdoors». Ordered medium rare and it was VERY rare. Steak was very tough and mostly inedible. Came with rice and beans. Rice was equivalent to microwave uncle bens and beans were mushy and lacked flavor. Pluses: good atmosphere, friendly staff, and great mojitos. Not recommended for food.

I don’t know what 3 ½ stars are all about but we had the best experience here. We tried many restaurants on this street, but this was by far the best food, ambience, drinks, and service. This place is a MUST visit.

From start to finish this was a wonderful experience. Hands down the best food we had! The service was A+ and so was the atmosphere! If you want an authentic Cuban experience, go here!

Food was okay and way to expensive. This is a tourist trap. The only coo thing was that they have live jazz bands so I recommend just getting drinks here and save your money for Cuban food somewhere else thats more affordable.

One word. Delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our fresh mango mojitos and various menu items including the Can Can Pork Chop, Skirt steak, and bacon wrapped chicken. The steak was grilled to perfection with a generous helping of black beans and rice. The pork chop is fatty… fried crisp. Tons of flavor! The portions were great. Loved their mofongo. Our server made delicious recommendations and was very attentive. This restaurant was listed as a Top 10 in Condado and didn’t disappoint. We will go each time we visit the island!

The appetizers empanadas and bean dip were delicious. The service is very slow which was disappointing it took over an hour to get our food and it was not busy… My steak was under cooked I sent it back and they took my rice off the plate and didn’t return it.: the server never checked back… He messed up on our appetizer order… We got the food after waiting over an hour and luckily it tasted good… Overall good food but poor service from Mauro. He was not attentive at all.

Not spending, great vibe with the music and the uniforms. Digging the street view and open feel. Not many healthy options, lots of fried and limited vegetables. Prices on the higher side 22 $ for a shrimp Caesar and soda water was $ 2 each. It was decent but not worth the price.

This was one of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever eaten. The chicken wrapped in bacon was absolutely amazing. So flavorful and delicious. Service was excellent. Wonderful experience. Recommend definitely.

What can I say about a place with booths that are functional rocking chairs? This place is heaven! They have a large selection of cocktails(mucho mojitos and specialty drinks) and decent wine list. But the best part is the food!!! I had the bolsitas de something(sorry forgot to write it down), the grilled octopus, and the red snapper with mufungo as an entrée. The service was awesome, the drinks were great, and the food was delicious! The menu is reasonably priced. One person could get a drink, appetizer, and entrée for about $ 70. Overall, I loved this place. At the the end of the meal, I was able to rock my food baby to sleep!

Hadn’t been here in about ten years but remembered it quite well. Tonight didn’t disappoint. We had shrimp with coconut and mofungo plantains, chicken stuffed with yucca wrapped in bacon with black beans and rice, and pork«can can» style with salad. Everyone shared and loved every dish! The red sangria was delightful. Too full for dessert. The waiter was incredible(forgot his name, sorry). An incredible dining experience.

So we came here on a recommendation from a friend. Heard it was so high end that without reservations you cant get in, which was true. We reserved a table one month in advance. Upon entering we were greeted by a few waiters. We sat fairly quickly but we did have reservations. The service was ok at first when we were among the few here but quickly went downhill when it got crowded. The food was not worth the wait, coupled with the fact that I had to ask the waiter three timea for water refill, made me NOT a happy camper. The food wasnt cheap any means and so i expected the armosphere to make up the difference. Sadly i was disappointed and would not be returning to this location. Not sure what my friend was thinking recommending this place.

Yerba Buena is good spot for casual and local food. If you are staying at the Marriott it’s right across the street on Ashford. If you are an early diner, try to grab a swing seat. They claim to have the best mojitos which might be pushing it but it’s a solid choice. Wine offering is lacking. I had their coconut shrimp entrée with rice and beans. I think the shrimp was a little undercooked. They were tasty though. For the price the portion was small but I filled up on the rice and beans which were very good.

Atmosphere, appetizers, and drinks were on point. Entre… not so much. I ordered the passion fruit chicken and the chicken was so over cooked and rubbery. My boyfriend had the Carribean empanado chicken with yuca mofongo… that was GREAT! The staff was amazingly helpful friendly and yes I’m big on customer. Located right around the corner from the beach and nearby many hotels… this place is definitely a spot to try.

Excellent restaurant located in a beautiful area of downtown San Juan. The chicken stuffed with mofongo, the churrasco, and the picadillo are all fantastic. They have a full bar along with a full rocking table… thats right, a rocking table. Same format as a sliding rocking chair but with 4 comfy seats and a full table that moves back and forth. Great drinks and a fully attentive staff. Great boriqua or cubano mojitos. The staff was as good as the food. Would definitely return on my next trip!

Had a great neighborhood feel. We were on our way to another restaurant and ended up walking into here instead based on the vibe and atmosphere. The service was fantastic, the food was great. We started with four people and sat outside in the rocking chair booth, then three more came so the waiter went out of his way to grab the high table and chairs to add to our booth so we could all be together. Menu suggestion: the pork for a meal, calamari appetizer. My only thumbs down is that the restaurant in sponsored by Heineken so that is the beer served. Not a horrible choice just not my first choice.

I’m only reviewing the bar & the mojitos. Which are THEBEST mojitos on Ashford Ave! The bar is circular, part inside/part out. There’s a bartender there, Gabriel, who makes a killer drink & is super social/fun to chat with. All the employees where the traditional white shirts and are pretty easy on the eyes ;-) We didn’t have any food, but it looked & smelled awesome. They have live music on the weekends & the guys that play on Friday nights are… interesting…to say the least(electric clarinet, playing«My heart will go on».) It’s a fun place with an awesome bar! They have glider-rocker seats, but you need a reservation.(Looked SO cool!) Next time we’re in PR, we’re def eating here!
