History

Established in 1976.

Via Appia, the road that leads into Rome, inspired the name for what started as a small pizzeria and deli in the Condado area of San Juan. Established in 1976 by three brothers, Via Appia quickly became a favorite of locals and tourists alike. Patio seating, great food, sangrias and other drinks, as well as off the racks wines and liquors made Via Appia what it is now, a staple of Condado. In 2001, the Acosta family purchased the business with a commitment of taking Via Appia to the next level. In 2003, Via Appia grew even more, adding a second dinning room, another patio seating section and a full bar to keep up with customer demands. We have been known for hiring multiple generations of families within our business, to keep our employee family growing together.

In 2016, we will be turning 40 years old, it has been a while ride. We hope to go for another 40 more years with the same amount of great patrons we have had over the years.
