In a land where a 24-hour café is impossible to find, The Flying Pan is a great option for students to study who, for whatever reason, can’t hit up HKU’s 24-hour library. Food is good, milkshakes are good, staff is nice. There is a really huge Food comes quickly and the portions are quite big. Music is usually soft rock or something similar.

If you want some good value for money breakfast that’s no frills this is the place to get it. It’s American diner style food complete with bottomless coffee! You also can’t beat the fact that it’s 24 hours and the prices are pretty cheap compared with other places around town. The food quality is maybe not the best ever but you get what you pay for and their breakfast deals are pretty good. Eggs, sides, juice and a dessert all piled on to your plate! I definitely didn’t leave hungry!

My go to place when I want/need bottomless coffee with my breakfast. I’ve been here many times with Eddie and a few other friends over time. It is right around the corner from where Eddie and I stayed for a while(Chancery Lane) and not too far from where we live now. Breakfast is good, American style, it is open 24 hours and you can’t beat the location. Service is not bad, language is always a bit of a challenge, I got my Chinese sign language down pretty good. If you want peanut butter with your breakfast toast it is an extra $ 15 wow. I will no doubt be back, not because it is the best but simply because the food looks familiar to home and it is kind of funky place to dine.

Located in the heart of party central. They cater to their core clientele with drunk food. So, I got a drink from the bar and the food was better. The eggs benedict was strangely cold in the middle. The favor was fine otherwise. They have the best right out of a can beans I’ve had since the last time I was in the UK. The juices were tiny for the price.

If you are craving a big American breakfast(big omelets, waffles, benedicts, eggs, meat, etc), this is your spot. It is a true breakfast joint! The menu has a wide variety of breakfast options, bottomless coffee, a bar and even burgers. The concept is 24 hour breakfast though and thus breakfast is the focus. Servings are large by Hong Kong standards and prices range roughly between $ 70HKD-$ 100+ per breakfast entrée. It is centrally located, open 24 hours(serving a gaggle of over served customers between 1am-4am most likely) and as such, the establishment has the feel that it might be well served with being doused with clorox and needs a good scrubbing. Tabletops are clean and things are organized, but it has the vibe of one of those breakfast holes you would find in a college town that just serves a high volume of people and is never clean enough and a touch warn. I am a bit of a germ phob and have had to dispell most of my «museum corners» concepts of clean here in Hong Kong, thus the 3 rating for this establishment. The food was good though and I actually enjoyed being there before 9AM on a Sunday when there was no patrons and it was peaceful(read the paper, have a garden omelet, drink coffee). This place probably gets busy during normal breakfast/brunch hours on a weekend. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Even though only giving it 3 star, I would probably go back, if hankering for a good solid breakfast.

No frills, you get exactly what you order and it is fairly quick. The bottomless coffee is great, because one needs a whole pot to feel like they have had a regular cup of American joe. Menu is in English and there are more choices/combos than you can imagine. Staff is friendly and very quiet. Mostly full of English speakers working on their laptops(free wifi) or having a meeting with coworkers. Good, easy breakfast and the flying pan clock is cool.

Right before coming to this cute little brunch spot, I got caught in a massive rain storm in Soho. My taxi driver dropped me off about 3 blocks too far, so I came into the restaurant soaking wet. The restaurant is really quite cramped, and I am pretty used to the cramped little restaurants in HK, but when I’m soaking wet from the rain, it was quite uncomfortable. I got a breakfast platter(pancake, bacon, eggs, ham, sausage, salad, and fruits). I loved how it was laid out on a massive white plate(very aesthetically pleasing for instagram!). Everything was solid, though nothing super memorable. I remember the pancake being the best. It was fluffy, light, and buttery, just how I like it, but there was sadly only one piece…

While staying in Hong Kong this past summer for three nights, my fiancée and I found ourselves at The Flying Pan for breakfast each morning. The main reason why? The food and prices were both great! We had no complaints about the delicious food that was served to us, the coffee that was poured for us, and the bill that was given to us that wasn’t too high considering it’s a restaurant in a prime area of the city. Whether you’re a resident of Hong Kong or just visiting for business or pleasure, I highly recommend checking out The Flying Pan for a delicious breakfast at a nice price. A bottomless coffee pot with bacon and eggs is always a good thing to start your day.

Great at 4am on your way home but what food isn’t? I would never choose to eat here at any other time, especially in an area with so many amazing restaurants.

The Flying Pan was one of the first brunch spots in Hong Kong that I went to. I recently went back with my bf for brunch. The service was fast and friendly. The menu is quite extensive, with a variety of breakfast plates to choose from. You can add on additional sides as well. We ordered a smoked salmon eggs benedict and a eggs platter with bacon and grilled tomato. Food came quickly, I would compare it with diner food in the US like Dennys. Overall, food was decent, the area is definitely not lacking of better brunch places, but The Flying Pan will be a convenient place to get breakfast food, especially since its open 24 hours.

I’ve sadly been here a few times(for breakfast/brunch and take away on the way to work) when I was new to HK and naïve — and always ended up regretting my decision. How hard is it not to mess up something like eggs? Everything is greasy(yes even the eggs!) and overall quality isn’t good at all. I wouldn’t recommend it and would actually recommend against it.

I was at the Flying pan during weekend for a late lunch. I figured this place being so popular and has such a big noticeable sign from the bridge, I would give it a try. The place was busy but the customer flow went by very fast. I was seated very soon with a bar facing seat. But soon I asked for a proper table that got recent available, which I was granted. They rushed to take my order fast as they probably assumed me as a regular returning customer. I have to say the menu was very complicated. They offer a service similar to the Hk style café which is fast and efficient. However, if the menu have less customization but just list out as many combinations as possible, it would have been easier for the customer. The food was so so. And coffee tasted so so as well. I am not a good cook, although I can make good coffee. But comparing the food quality to what I am capable to make, I think I could make better breakfast. The food required little skill to prepare and the coffee was just standard drips. However, I could see this restaurant having a successful model. Cheap, fast, simple. All day breakfast, 24 hours a day. This would be nice for tourists who found Asian food too foreign and would love a simple comforting touch of western food. Even if you just stepped off the plane and arrived to Hong Kong, this place still over you a good breakfast to welcome you to this city. In summary, good place for tourist. 24 hours all day breakfast is a great option to the local neighborhood. Also offer a cheap alternative of western food in the region. Cheap, fast and simple. I might come here again in the future, when I feel lazy to make my own.

This is another post-party destination because its open 24 hours a day, and also close by to the ‘fong(aka Lan Kwai Fong) so it’s easy to get too. Also because there is all day breakfast, so theres no shame in getting up after midday after a big night and still having a western breakfast.

this place is done up all like a retro american diner, complete with blue tiled walls reminiscent of the ‘50s. the menus a little crinkled and grimey, but the choices are firm breakfast classics — all variations of eggs with an infinite permutation of sides — and it’s served up without fanfare. quite comforting, and nothing fanciful — the bread is buttered and properly-toasted, the beans are out a can, and eggs are poached just right.

Ever feel like you are starving so bad after partying all night in LKF but the last place you want to go is McDonald? Here is an alternative for you all — The Flying Pan. Since this place is open 24 hours a day, you have no idea how thankful party-goers are as it has now become the most famous post-clubbing destination. You can easily spot this place from afar as it has blue walls and blue and white tile floors; and its logo is an egg on a flying pan(so self-explanatory). Once you walk in, you will feel like you just walk in a 1950’s diner(or a blue version of the diner on 2 Broke girls) filled with funky table tops and paintings. I strongly recommend sitting at the booth if it is possible and I will explain later. Most people come for the all-day English Breakfast here and there are quite a lot of choices including Pancakes, French toast, Bagels, Egg Benedict, etc. However, I have tried better egg Benedict somewhere else before so I will skip that here. Instead, I recommend the English breakfast set and you can choose — toast, salad, beans, sausage, potatoes, veggies and the like. The food does not take too long to be ready and you will be surprised how big the plate and the portion is. That’s why I said sitting in a booth would work better as it is very difficult to have your plate and drink on the bar table. Make sure you do not order too much or you will have a hard time finishing them all. As for the drinks, they have a variety of drinks like smoothies, milkshakes, beers, spirits or juice. I prefer the milkshakes personally and feel free to let me know which flavor you like the best. The service is all right but do not expect too much as it is sort of fast-food-like still.

I’ll admit — I’m not a huge fan of the whole ‘breakfast all meals and every meals!’ fad. To begin with, I don’t really like breakfast food that much. I don’t really like bread, and I’m iffy about egg — it depends on how it’s cooked. Anyway, I’d heard many good things about The Flying Pan and when one of my friends brought it up, we both said we’d never been so we decided to try it out. We got there at around 7:30 and the place was surprisingly empty. The restaurant was less than half filled, and it was really quiet. The décor of the restaurant looked quite like an American diner with the bar stools and the blue-tiles tables(though they kind of reminded me of bathroom tiles…). They had a HUGE menu — I don’t mean physically, but there were so many options! My friend and I spent about 10 minutes deciding what to eat and eventually I settled on the eggs guacamole with avocado and salsa. I got the set meal so for the drink, I picked orange juice. The food arrived within 10 minutes and to my surprise, I actually quite liked it. The egg was cooked to perfection and was just the right amount of runny. The avocado was really soft and tasted very fresh — I can’t stand avocados that are hard because they haven’t ripened, so I was really glad that it wasn’t the case. Like I said, I don’t really like bread, so I didn’t love or hate the slightly toasted buns. Overall, I was impressed — but the portion is TINY! I finished this in about fifteen minutes flat, and I’m not a fast eater at all. I was still hungry after it and I felt like I could eat at least half of another portion! I liked the food — I really did — but for such a tiny portion, and at $ 74 for the set meal, I didn’t think it was worth the money. I could make this at home for less than a third of the price. Poaching those eggs to perfection might be impossible, though, but you get my point. Overall, good food, tiny portions, unreasonable prices.
