We detected rats that had been active for quite some time in our crawl space! They had started to come into the house! First came the inspection by Angel. He was polite and professional and explained everything out to me. The write up was complete for our quote and we proceeded with the work. The work done on our house was in December 2015. The crew were four guys who spent 8 hours plus doing one yuck job! Brandon was the lead and he was great at explaining everything they did and keeping me informed.
They cleaned out our crawl space, sanitized it and they replaced our insulation and vapor barriers. The rats had destroyed everything and it was awful. They also rodent proofed every little nook and cranny on the outside of the house with fine mesh and quick set concrete. The rats had been using my dryer vent area as an exterior access point to my crawl space. They covered up my carpet and always used shoe protectors.
After the initial clean out then they do three or more rat trap checks to clean out any rats are still left in the house. After two rat checks we could say– «This house is clean!». No more rats and using lysol on everything when we had them in the house. It was an awful experience to have these rats in your house but the whole crew were great in getting the job done. I would recommend them to anyone with a rat problem. They got the job done and even took pictures for me of the damage under the house so I knew what it really looked like. They were on time for their follow up appointments. No one wants to do this job and they did it without complaints and they know what they are doing.

We had them rodent-​proof our place about a year ago. So far so good in terms of keeping animals out of our attic and crawl space. Another plus is that the work ended up being much more than they originally estimated, yet I was surprised that they kept to their original quoted price. The people who came to the house were all very nice and tried their best to keep me informed on what was happening.
There were some negatives in working with the company, though. One is that the office staff does not seem to be good at communicating. For instance, our job ended up taking much longer than originally planned. I assumed that on the day after the original timeline passed, the workers would show up again to continue. Based on discussions with them, they seemed to think so as well. But their time is scheduled by the office, who must to think that I am going to stand by for a week or two just waiting to see when people may show up. I would call when I would eventually have to leave the house to find out when people would be showing up and the office staff would seem surprised.
It got worse after the main work was complete. As people were crawling around the attic, some cracks developed in the ceiling and some fixtures got pushed out. We were assured that this would be fixed at the end. It was, but only after a lot of chasing down on my part. They would send the wrong people, or the people they sent had no idea what had been done or needed to be done. When someone did come who could do the work, they could only do some patching, let’s say, and then have to return the next day to paint. But they would not be sent back the next day. I would call up a few days later and the office staff would not know anything even though I know the contractor had called them.
A second thing I would watch out for is their insulation service. They recommended removing the insulation that was in the attic, as it had lots of evidence of the infestation, and offered to put in new stuff. Recently we have had an energy audit done and were told that the insulation in the attic was poorly done and it would be best to just remove it and get it done right. If you have them remove any insulation, bring in someone else to replace it.
In short, they do a good job on keeping out the rodents and, especially if you just need a crawlspace worked on, I would recommend them. Beyond that, just know it might not be as satisfying.

Very responsive and professional company. Evidence of rats *inside the house* YUCK! Called this place because of top Unilocal reviews. They called right back to set up their next available appointment. DJ came out promptly and was very professional, checking out the whole place. My husband decided he could do the work to fix the most likely problems – but if it isn’t enough, and it winds up being a bigger project to get rid of these rats, I’m getting Original Rodent Proofers to do it!

These guys are fantastic! Highly knowledgeable and patient. They know how to keep rats, and other varmits, out of the house. I really appreciate the swift response and excellent customer service. Thank you!

A young man (didn’t catch his name– little hearing loss) came to do an inspection on our house. He arrived promptly, seemed knowledgable, friendly and sincerely interested in our problem. He didn’t rush us. As he was leaving, he turned around and said, «You know, maybe I should crawl under your house,» and he did. For now, we are going to try to address the problems ourselves, but should we fail, we feel fully confident in hiring this company. Our hats our off, to the young man who visited us today!

This review is pretty overdue. I used original rodent proofers to rodent proof my home over the summer. Angel and Shannon had come over to rodent proof my home and clean out my attic which was filled with rat feces (ughhh!).
Everyone was very professional and they gave me a great price as well.
I would not choose another company if you have rodent problems for your home.

We have had no activity since our job was complete and the company did a fantastic job. The crew consisted of 4 men and over eight hours of sweat. A huge truck and tons of equipment was used. After watching the job I feel it was worth the investment. Our home is about 5 degrees warmer since we had them vacuum all The un-​even snow blown insulation. And replace it with our R38 vats which is thicker The owner has been back multiple times to check activity/​traps and there has been absolutely nothing. They will warranty their work for two years. If you hear any scratching don’t hesitate to call them. They can do small rodent proofing job or one like ours and replace all insulation. Either direction you go they will guarantee their work.
I called every company that next-​door recommended and narrowed it down according to vacuum capabilities, R38 snow insulation, warranty, Unilocal reviews etc. I am thrilled with the end result of The original rodent Proofers. Rodents can’t live in your attic. They are a health risk and a fire hazard and they are nasty.

I am recommending Original Rodent Proofers for anyone having rodent issues or moving into a new home. Their process is complete from initial no charge, thorough home inspection with full write up of identified issues allowing the customer a few weeks to determine to proceed. Angel did a fantastic job taking time to explain what issues were found. I was more comfortable proceeding with Original Rodent Proofers based on Angels visit and explanation.
Yami is very friendly and helpful scheduling the visits. She was accommodating to my schedule and made needed time exceptions for the follow up visits which was appreciated.
Brett and Lorenzo came to the house for most of the day receiving a passdown from Angel of the work to be completed. They patched up the attic, house exterior and cleaned up any droppings that were found. The work completed that day was very thorough and friendly. Leaving the job they left traps in the attic with the plan these traps would be checked three times over the next approximately 15 days.
For the first two checks Shannon came to the home and was very helpful and friendly. He came to find no recent activity and empty traps indicating the original work completed was successful.
Lastly, Angel was scheduled to visit again to do final trap and attic inspection. All was clear and clean and he walked around the house viewing the areas that were originally identified as focus areas to seal.

I hired The Original Rodent Proofers, and Brian was the lead project manager bout 5 months ago. I have to say that this company far exceeded my expectations on every level of customer service and performance. Brian was diligent, patient and thorough. The was one of the best experiences that I’ve had as a customer.
I totally recommend Brian and the Original Rodent Proofers if you are in the unfortunate position of rodent infestation or something similar.

If Unilocal allowed more than five stars, i would rate it as high as I can. I am impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, efficiency, timeliness and customer service of this place.
I hate that I had to search for a mice exterminator, but yes… it happened to me. Imagine yourself preparing to host Thanksgiving dinner for your in laws and extended family and finding a mice in the garage. PANIC sets in. I go to Orchard and talk to one of the team members there who scared me with tales about mice coming from toilets and living underneath houses. Well, that was a no brainer. I reached for my phone, opened my Unilocal app, searched HELPPPPPP! ha… no, searched «kill mice» Long story short, I came across this company. Lucky me… the lady on the other side of the line informed me that they were booked through mid December. I cringed in desperation and the good soul felt my desperation and put me on hold. One hour later DJ was knocking on my door. (impressed already)
DJ did a thorough inspection and said what sounded like music to my ears, «You won’t need our services. It is probably a mouse. Buy some traps and make sure to fill the gap on that door.» … Wow. Need I say more?! If you consult with them, you know you are working with honest people.

We had a rat in a tough spot to remove. We called ‘The Original Rodent Proofers’ to come out and look at our problem. Brandon came out and with 20 minutes knew they could fix the problem. Everyone that came out was friendly and were very knowledgeable on what they were doing. It took a little bit to find a, the entrance’s these rodents were getting in, but once everything was sealed, we had no more problems. The get thing is we also saw the rat in a trap, so we know that one was gone. It’s been about a month and no signs of rodents anymore. We would call them again if we have anymore issues. Also we would highly recommend them.

I can’t say enough good things about this business. They came out to my house earlier this year and thoroughly sealed up every potential entry for mice. No problems at all until the last couple of days when some new critters came in with my cat. Rodent Proofers responded immediately and sent a technician same day. Problem taken care of now we can sleep in peace. Special thanks to Yami in dispatch and Brett for great customer service. I will only use Rodent Proofers!

Had a really good experience with Brandon. He was honest, courteous, professional and helpful. Came by and identified the problem areas around the house and gave an estimate on the spot. Even removed a dead opossum from under a shed while he was here. Thanks, guys. Would recommend this company.

I had an initial communication problem with this organization but they offered to stand behind their organization and fix the problem.

I can’t say enough good things about this company! Brandon and James are very dedicated to
helping their customers get rid of their pests. After they had done a lot of work to make sure
that the rodents would not reappear we had another intruder (rat).
They came back and diligently inspected around thee house and on the roof to see where
it could have come in. A wall which attaches to the house had a small fissure and they sealed
that opening. I now feel comfortable in my house knowing that we are «water tight».
Once again, The professionalism and dedication of Brandon, James and his crew (including
Angel) is the best and I would recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Brandon when I had a rat problem. I was able to get one of the little rodents myself, huzzah, but alas that was all I could get and I knew there were more. I could hear them in the walls and running around but could never see them. I found rat dropping inside my house. There is nothing more disgusting!
When I originally contacted Brandon he came out the next day to inspect it. My house was built in the late 40’s and as such I really was praying it wouldn’t be something that couldn’t be fixed. Brandon did a very thorough perimeter check and pointed out four possible entry points. He said they could easily be getting in through the crawl space door, a whole in the roof line (under where the house roof meets the garage roof), along the gaps where the main drain runs to the sewer, and at two points along the foundation of the house.
The part that was difficult for my fiancée to understand was that they seal entry points from the outside, not the inside as she kept pointing things out inside the house… it’s ok one of us understood Brandon hahaha. Anyways he also took a look at the attic and explained the house had really old spray down insulation that the rats had been defecating, urinating, and nesting in. EW! To make matters worse it could be circulating through our house when we run the heat and we could be breathing that in. Gag!
He could seal the holes and trap and get rid of the rats for a comparable amount to what other companies on Unilocal do it for. The other guys have a 1 year warranty and they use spray foam and mesh (temporary fixes) and from what I read on Unilocal even the happy customers had 3 or 4 repeat visits to fix the same problem. Brandon uses heavier duty grates and screws and comes with a 5 year warranty. On my house he even rebuilt me a new crawl space door. I opted to have him take out all the nasty stuff in the attic and seal it from the inside as well and put down new roll out insulation for a larger fee but even if you just want a quick get rid of these nasty things option they are in my opinion the best option around for that too. I knew I needed the larger job though.
I wasn’t around when they did the work but he was so honest I entrusted him with a hide a key. My neighbor told me he had a crew of like ten guys working on the house almost the whole day.
The cruddy part was the little rats got back in. Brandon said typically the rats get scared out during the cleaning process and try to find new entry points specially if they nested there previously. He did another perimeter check and found his crew had not entirely sealed off the roof entry point and they missed one spot along the foundation. He came out the next day and took care of it all and extended the warranty an extra year for the hassle.
What I love most about this guy is his honesty and his customer service. I’m so use to people where you tell them there is a problem and they deny it and call the customers liars or they say oh that is a second inspection fee or some bs additional charge or they never get back to you and just take the money and run. To be honest I am so use to dealing with these types of people I prematurely overacted a bit. Anyways Brandon called me back the same hour he found out there was a problem and he apologized, owned up to the mistake and came back out fixed the problem and made it right with me. This guy is honest and old school the kind of guy you shake hands with not worry about fine print on something you signed. He sticks by his word and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone with a rodent problem because he will get the job done and done right! Ps rodent free 5 months and counting and can’t stop smiling about it :)

It can’t go wrong with The Original Rodent Proofer. We are in Burlingame, and have rodent issues. So we decided to call the company, for they have very good reviews on Unilocal.
The team is amazing. We scheduled for the estimates (FREE) and they showed up the next day to give a fair quote. To schedule for service we had to wait a bit longer (~2 weeks) as they seem very busy. But once the date of the appointment came, it is when the issues were fixed.
The service was great, the employees were on time and courteous. Brandon (the owner) was amazingly knowledgeable. The hole locations are identified within minutes!
So, great job over all! Highly recommended.

Really disappointing. We called and weren’t able to schedule an inspection until a week later. OK, no big deal, I get they’re busy.
Our appointment window was from 2 – 4 pm. I left work and sat at home the entire two hours, waiting. At 4:30, no one had called or shown up, so I called the office. I was told someone was 20 minutes away. At 5:30, I get another call from the office saying that the inspector actually can’t make it at all and can we reschedule?
I had been sitting at home for 3.5 hours at this point. I wasn’t apologized to any any time for the inconvenience. I had to be the first one to call to find out why no one had shown up. Just really frustrating, awful customer service. I assumed that was indicative of how they do business and canceled my rescheduled inspection.

This is a well overdue review for the AMAZING Rodent Proofers!
My mother’s house previously had a history of rat problems, but we thought we had taken care of it several years ago. But one weekend when she was out of town, I went to her house to check up on it, and noticed there was rat droppings EVERYWHERE! Clusters of them on the stairs, in the living room, dining room… it was an awful sight, and I HAD to get some help! Bananas had gone missing from the dining room table as well as Godiva chocolates… Desperate (and disgusted) on a Saturday night, I immediately went on Unilocal to find a few places! And I am so thankful that I found the Rodent Proofers! They called me back immediately the next morning to schedule an appointment.
I’ll be honest, the first meeting we had, they were late, and I was fairly upset due to the fact that I had been waiting at my mother’s house and do not live there. However, Brandon, the owner, when he arrived, was extremely apologetic and assured me that this was a rare case (due to being held up by a different client) and that they are always on time. They were not on time. They were EARLY showing up for appointments getting stuff done, which I was so grateful for!
It was a BIG job as my mom’s house attic had an infestation (a little embarrassing to say), and it was a long 1 day job, with a large crew of 8 or so men. Once the job was done, the attic was ENTIRELY cleaned out! They even helped my aging mother bring down boxes from the attic to the garbage. They did such a wonderful job that I decided for them to even replace the insulation in the attic for her. Brandon was amazing for explaining everything to me, the process of making sure the rats would not return, the entry points that were to be sealed up, etc.
I am SO grateful that I found the Rodent Proofers because ever since then, there has not been a single rat dropping lurking in my mother’s house. And I appreciate all the follow-​up phone calls =)
