Whale Watching at H&M Landing

This is a review of the customer service at H&M. We booked a cruise through H&M 3 weeks ahead of time for March 11 with groupon and received a confirmation. The day was set, vacation days were requested and everything was great. We then received an email on March 1, saying that H&M had cancelled our cruise date because there was not enough interested. Tried to book other dates directly with H&M, they were also booked on the dates we were available.
So we asked for a refund from H&M after trying to work with them booking other dates, they were full for the other dates that we could go. Nope. Not allowed. H&M could not accommodate us or provide us with a refund.
So be aware, if you book through groupon & H&M and they cancel the date (s) that you have already booked and received a confirmation email for, you may be out of luck if you try to reschedule the date & will not be able to get a refund. If you are from out of town, I suggest finding another company that will be able to accommodate THEIR own schedule changes and possibly even offer refunds.

Great experience. I’ve been with them three times now. Basically every time someone visited from out of town in the last couple of years. We saw several whales the first two times. Yesterday, we saw a huge pod of dolphins that swam with our boat. We also saw several grey whales, though unfortunately there were a bunch of boats surrounding them and they wouldn’t surface properly last time. Boat is clean. Staff is friendly. And a great price. No complaints.

We went Whale watching with my girl scouts troop. It was a girl scout event where about 30 – 35 adults and kids were girl scouts and family. Although we saw 4 whales and the person telling us about whales was really good, I was disappointed that the boat’s bow was always pointed directly at the whales and the adults who were not a part of the group never let us see past them. Turning the boat slightly would have given more people an opportunity to see the whales. I understand that it is a guessing game as to where the whales will pop up however, after the first 3 surface cycles, the captain should have realized that the majority of people could not see and adjusted the boat.

Please note, my face was in a trash can most of the time during the trip, lol. Major seasickness.
However, this doesn’t alter the fact that the rest of my family enjoyed it. We saw about 13 whales, about the best sighting of the year so far, even though we had to venture out further than intended. The 3-​hour trip turned into 6 hours, but it was worth it. Make sure to bring a hat, some sunscreen and a warm enough coat, because it does get cold out there.
From checking in from the ground staff to the boat crew, they had excellent customer service. They answered all the questions I had on the phone because I reserved through Living Social. The cook in the galley was nice and accommodating to my kids. They asked him a lot of questions, and he patiently answered them. He even let them write on his tip jar for customers to leave more tips, lol.
Thank you, H&M Landing! Next time, I will for sure take some Dramamine first to enjoy more of the trip. Maybe we can try out fishing next time. :)

Awesome whale watching trip! The captain was funny and shared some interesting info about the bay and the whales. We had a perfect day. Not too hot, not too cool. And … We saw a pretty large pod of whales!!! It was amazing!
