Drive your own Speedboat!

Get your hands on the wheel of a Phantom 15 Wahoo Powerboat, and get ready to drive your own speed boat around the beautiful and expansive 12 miles that is the San Diego Harbor!

A typical tour:

Meet your tour guide at the Marina Entrance! Your guide will then escort you to his office, a 36 foot Carver Mariner yacht, where you will fill out paperwork, watch a safety/​instructional video, and enjoy a complimentary non-​alcoholic beverage.

Time to head to the boats, where your guide will show you the basics and go over a few simple instructions before untying from the dock. Upon exiting the beautiful Chula Vista Marina, you will see the Downtown skyline to the right and the Mexican border to the left. While out on the water, in your own boat, you will enjoy The San Diego Harbor with a tour of the Coronado Bridge, Harbor Island, North Island, USS Midway, Maritime Museum, etc.

Get Ready to enjoy a small personalized tour, that can accommodate your sightseeing needs… with the thrill of being out on the water and driving your very own boat!

History

Established in 2014.

Seas The Day Speed Boat Tours has been a long time in the making. It has always been a dream of mine to own my own business, but for the longest time I didn’t know what I wanted to do.

Once I stumbled on the beauty of the San Diego Harbor, and then mix in the excitement of the Wahoo Powerboats, well, I knew that I had something special that people would truly love! We just opened our doors officially at the beginning of July, and have had nothing but great experiences out on the water.

I grew up around boats and jet-​skis, but it was not until I went up to Alaska to work on a fishing boat that I truly got «hooked» on the boating lifestyle. I have worked for other companies and on other boats since, but I feel so lucky and I am very excited to be starting up my own Speed Boat Tour business.

I didn’t grow up in San Diego, but I have lived here for about 13 years and I am so blessed to call this beautiful city home.

This was the perfect gift for my parents. We have lived in San Diego for many years, but seeing it from the water made us feel like we were on vacation in our own city. The boat went pretty fast and was easy to drive. Nathan was our guide and he was helpful, communicative and fun. He took a separate boat to guide us, and took great pictures for us. He even let me drive his boat for a while so I could go faster than my mom was comfortable with. I highly recommend Seas the Day for a memorable experience!

This is the best possible thing to do when on a short trip to San Diego. One can check out a lot of major spots from the SD Bay viz. Coronado Bridge, Air craft carriers from the Navy Museum, Downtown SD. And if thats not enough the whole speedboating thing is surely going to get your pulses rising. Nathan, our tour guide was very accommodating and super cool. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a strong heart!

I have taken this speed boat tour twice each time Nathan was our tour guide he is awesome and very accommodating the boats are very well maintained and see — over the other speed boat tour I would recommend the store anytime you are in San Diego or when your friends are in town I did get my speed boat tour on LivingSocial so there was a discount don’t forget to tip your tour guide

I booked this online as a surprise birthday gift for my husband. Within minutes of booking, Nathan texted me to introduce himself as my tour guide for the day and where to meet. I personally like knowing who to expect when I arrive and it made it our experience more personal.
On arrival, Nathan was very gracious and at ease which put my husband at ease since he didn’t know what we were doing.
Once we were out on the water, he gave very clear instructions on where to go and where our meeting spots will be. This gave us a lot of room to play out on the water and meet Nathan at our own pace. He also takes pictures and action shots!
Overall, it was an amazing experience and something my husband and I will come back to do!

Definitely the highlight of my leisure trip to San Diego — just do it! The five star reviews don’t lie. Nathan is a likable and gracious host, giving us a well-​rounded tour of SD’s greatest sights presented with interesting facts. He also provided a sense of adventure and freedom to have some fun with the boat, as he would pause in his boat at a main sight to wait for us, then let us meet him the next designated spot. I felt very safe as Nathan seemed omnipresent, always within sight and available by walkie-​talkie. I especially appreciated his willingness to capture pictures and sending those to us afterwards, that was a nice touch. Highly recommend!

Man what a thrill! For my Bday, I wanted to do something different and adventurous and once I saw you could drive your own speedboat I was sold. Nathan at Seas the Day was super friendly and made sure I felt comfortable to drive (since it was my first time). Not to mention he took some awesome pictures of us out there with the backdrop of Coronado Bridge and the USS Midway.
It was such an amazing experience to see DT and San Diego from the harbor. The views were spectacular!!! We did the sunset tour at 6pm and I will be definitely be doing this again!!!

What a great tour to see San Diego! Would highly recommend it to anyone, we went with a kid who was wowed the entire time. The experience of driving the boat is so much better than going on dinner cruises. From the original description, I didn’t even understand that it was going to be just three of us in the speed boat driving it, it was such a pleasant surprise. The time was also good, 6 pm gave us a full day to go to other sightseeing places.

Nathan was awesome! Friendly and knowledgeable about the harbor! You can zip around alone after a little bit, but we had him take us around the marina, harbor and where the seals hung out. Excellent and unique way to see San Diego. Highly recommend !! Thank you!

Went out on the 4th of July weekend and had an absolute blast. Our guide, Nathan, was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided an excellent tour of the city.
Once the group got out of the marina, Nathan gave us a direction. It the tour was in our hands. The speed you travel and the sites that you want to see are truly at your discretion.
I highly recommend this as a fun and unique way to see the city by the bay. I look forward to going it again in the future.

My husband and I has a wonderful time and experience out on the water speeding around on theses boats! Nathan was phenomenal and really helpful he even took beautiful pictures of us! I really enjoyed myself, I highly recommend couples coming to have a nice intimate experience and some alone time on the boats with your love one! Awesome!!!

What a great time we had this past week taking the speed boat tour. Nathan the owner was just awesome and made truly made the experience relaxing and enjoyable. The boats are super fast and perfectly maintained for a lot of fun on the Bay. We got to see San Diego a whole different way and he led us on a great adventure showing us all the sights along the way. Our kids (4 and 5) still can stop talking about how much fun those boats are and how nice Nathan was. Highly recommended that you take this tour when you are in the San Diego area. It really was a great experience.

SoCal FUN AT ITS BEST! Totally recommended this place. I’ve was raised in San Diego and I’ve seen the city like I did today. Everything from the moment I made my reservation to the moment we left, Nathan was awesome and professional. The tour was a blast and it lasted about 1.5 hours. Nathan was very hands-​on both in person and showing you a video of how to ride the powerboat. I really enjoyed the fact that we could ride on our own and let loose a bit. The views we got to see were amazing. The price and what you get to see, it’s a sweet deal and very well worth it.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Sooooo much fun! Totally safe. Nathan was super friendly, took pictures for us as we were ripping it up out there AND he emails them to you! Driving a Speed boat is SUPER FUN! We were a group of 5. After jet skiing in Mission Bay we headed to Chula Vista for this tour. We were an hour late but Nathan was totally cool about it., luckily his schedule was flexible that day.
We rented 2 boats and Nathan led the way on his boat. The tour was around 1.5 hrs. It was kinda cold but the adrenaline rush, the sunset and San Diego downtown views made it totally worth it.
Driving the boat is easy, very much like driving a car. You will get a hang of it in a few mins. If you like adventure sports, this is definitely a ‘must do’!
He also gave us walkie talkies. He made sure we were alright at all times.
I highly recommend Seas The Day Speed Boat Tours.
Only suggestion I have for Nathan is to use a nice sports camera to take pictures instead of a phone. that way you can get good zoomed in pictures for your customers to remind them of the awesome experience they had!

Great place to go when your looking for something to do with visitors In town. New, clean boats and Nate our tour guide was super knowledgable and accommodating to our group. Went on a tour Monday with my husband and our two kids ages 6 and 9. We had an awesome time driving the speedboats! My kids kept saying how much fun it was and that they can’t wait to do it again. My husband and I agree, and we will be back! Nathan was very nice and helpful in making it a great experience. It was our first time driving a speedboat, but he instructed us well and it was very easy to do so.
