I hate this place — it costs several hundred dollars to have testing done and there is no one to answer the phone. Customer service SUCKS. also they do not warn you to bring food if you have blood drawn, and I almost passed out. Have a Number where we can call you.

Terrible! Will never take our daughter here again! The tech was clearly sick and sneezing and snotting everywhere. Then she proceeded to jam the needle in my daughters arm… when she didn’t get it she blamed my wife for not positioning my daughter correctly! She then moved on to the next arm and didn’t get it either… after two pokes they sent us to Rady’s lab. It was clear that the girl knew she wouldn’t get it and just did the 2 sticks to say she tried. She should have sent us to Rady’s right off the bat! Rady’s got it on the first stick and the tech there even called exactly what had happened to us at quest without us even telling her! She was also given a teddy bear at Rady’s afterwards.

This place used to be great. You could call them, get quotes, easy billing. Now they have an extensive automated system with no responses that get you to a representative. Even their 866myquest customer service people are mostly incompetent. I had to be transferred 8 times just to get my answers.
On top of this, get prepared for sticker shock if you’re paying cash. They no longer give price quotes at the lab centers. You only know what it costs after you get billed. Their prices on the common lab tests I needed done were 2−15x what hospitals charge.

Went to Quest Diagnostics for blood screening. After fasting all day, I arrive at my appointment time, and they don’t have my paperwork on file. They ask me to call my doctor and have them fax over the paperwork. My doctor’s office was closed for thirty minutes, I ask the «kind» people at Quest if they could wait for my doctor to return, and they inform me that by then my appointment time will have expired So I go home, having wasted my time and money on parking. After lots of phone calls, holds, and automatic messages from Quest such as «If we don’t have your paperwork, don’t worry we’ll call the doctor for you» I finally figured out my doctor did send over the paperwork electronically but apparently Quest Diagnostics will lose these submissions frequently. Horrible first experience with Quest. Labcorp is a much better option.

Wow just got here and we signed in. We had an appointment and everything, me and my dad were sitting down. This cranky blonde lady at the desk called out my dad name, my dad went up and she ask him if he had an appointment. I went up with him because he doesn’t speak English very well, I told her yes at 11. She asked me again what time like with an attitude. Didn’t smile and was in a bad mood. Then she looked at my dad paper work and handed it to me and said needs more information. she didn’t even give me a pen and she just completely avoided us. Seriously this lady needs some discipline, I wanted to smack her and knock some sense into her but i kept my cool down. Working in a health field, she needs to learns how to be professional and respectful. Omg What is wrong with people?

This review is for Peggy! Thank you very much for facilitating a stress free blood draw for my son, and for the referral to the Poway Quest. Office was uncrowded, clean, best of all the kind and super helpful service by Peggy– thank you!

This is my first ever Unilocal review. I was so angered I had to. I was
with my 83year old mother, who has been fasted. We just came from her Dr. appt and where sent to Quest. It was now 10:30am. We sign in and sit down. I’m used to all the rules, sign in, sit down, wait for them to cAll for insurance info and then sit down and wait for tech. I have been going there for years. My husband as well. We have never had any complaints, everyone has always been great.
Today however, the rainbow hair colored girl that came up to relieve the reception tech had been staring the whole time I was there how she was doing well drawing blood today. So I’m very happy when someone else calls my mom in. I’m still in the waiting room when the tech comes out to ask for help because she cannot get my moms blood. So much to my regret rainbow bright goes in. A few minutes later I hear the exit door close.
First of all they told my mom to go out the exit door knowing she is elderly and I am waiting inside for her, so I open the entrance door and see my confused mother in the hallway. My mom tells me they where not able to draw blood. I ask the technician and was given no advise, nothing to help me figure this out. I ask if there is anyone else, they said no, they could not like her again cuz they tried 3 times. Rainbow hair girl just looks at me and says no we cannot, I say what now, she shrugged I stared this has never happened and she said «it happens quite often», I’m sorry but you have one job– to get blood. I’m very disappointed that I did not even get some kind of advise as to what to do. If they can’t draw the blood who will?
I work at an animal hospital, we would never send a patient home and tell the owner we could not get blood. I would probably get fired.
Throw me a freakin bone you are the professionals tell me what we can do.
Just sayin.

Had 1:45 appointment but ended up getting there around 1:00. One person waiting in the waiting room and no one at the front desk. Signed in on the «I have an appointment» clipboard and sat down. Four people walk in and sign in. Front desk lady shows up after 15 minutes. Girl here before us in the waiting room gets called in as well as first walk-​in (who came after us). We ask and front desk lady (Peggy) says we should have sign in on the «walk in clipboard». She sees what time we signed in on the other clipboard. 4 people who showed up after us were seen before us. Had someone been at the desk when we came in we would have asked and been in and out in 15 minutes. Instead we were here over an hour. Average wait for walk ins before us was 15 minutes. Incompetent people.

Quick service, nice people, not a lot of loops to jump through. I also think it’s super convenient that there are a lot of Quest Diagnostics locations in Southern California so I can also get tests when I’m away at college and not have to go to another doctor or other annoying things.
The processing was also pretty quick :) I have no complaints about this place.

The front desk lady, who happened to be the one to take my blood, I believe her name was Jennie, is rude. I went in to drop off a sample. Another location told me it wouldn’t be more than few minutes so to go in and just drop it off and I’ll be done. So I go in right before my doctor’s appointment and explain to the lady I’m dropping my sample. Before I can even finish my sentence she cuts me off and tells me I need to sign in (keep in mind, as I have the pen in my hand). I very nicely asked her how long it might take, (she said that I had to wait, go back to the back to be seen, etc.). Keep in mind, my sample had to be refrigerated. She smiles, and says «Oh I don’t know. it depends on how many people are in the waiting room and ahead of you.» I look around. There was nobody there. I told her I needed to see my doctor soon and apologized for being in a rush. She looks at me and says «Then just go.» I said «My specimen needs to be refrigerated». She responds, «Leave it here, but if you don’t come back we’re throwing it away». Oh ok lady. Thanks.
So I left and came back probably 45 minutes later. There were two other people in the room and only one signed in. They started talking to this other lady and she wasn’t signed in. They asked her and she said no, but you see she was a friend of theirs and they called her back. The lady that «helped» me earlier was taking her time. Saw me and kept making copies. She finally turned around and said «What can I help you with?» I said «Oh I was the one that dropped the…» and before I finished she says «Yes but I need your paperwork and orders and insurance card.» I was so irritated. I told her that the correct way to ask for that then is to ask for my insurance card. I said «You asked how you can help me, not that you needed all of that. i’m not sure if you’re ready or not to receive it.» So she takes it and then says «Oh wait but I need to make sure nobody else is front of you.» She calls out the lady’s name on the sheet and nobody responds. She does it again. Nobody responds. She does it again. Nobody responds, «oh I’m ready to take you.» She takes me to the back and takes my blood and just walks away.
Not too thrilled with people who hate their jobs so much they take it out on their patients.

Went in and out without a fuss! Stacy was super helpful and professional! Believe it or not, people miss my minster veins… She was quick and that rocked my socks. Thanks!

I am 11 weeks pregnant and was sent down to get a routine blood test by my OB GYN. I am not a fan of getting blood drawn. Now I understand most people are not, but I’m pretty bad about it, I also do not weigh very much and get light headed easily. The waiting room is not unlike most blood labs… drab and eerie. The lady at the front desk was rude when I tried to hand her my paperwork upon signing in. It was my first time there and I am not a psychic, please forgive me Mrs. Miserable. I did not have an appointment so the 10 minute wait was not bad at all. Then a woman came out, called my name and told me to wait in a room. My fiancé came with me. I have a full sleeve (tattoos) on my right arm so when she reached for me right arm, I suggested that she use my left arm so she could see the vein. Now keep in mind I have had my blood drawn before and have never had a problem, all previous drawings have come from my left– not tattooed arm and my veins are quite visible. Anyway when I suggested that she use my left arm she made a cocky smug look and shrugged her shoulders. She then began to prep my left arm. I asked her to please not shrug at me at let me know if she disagrees. She then shrugged again. I noticed that she pulled out a lot of tubes to fill up and I asked her if she needed to fill them all completely up and informed her of my nervousness. She then SHRUGGED her shoulders again. She then proceeded to try to draw blood from my left arm. I looked away (I can’t stand to watch) I could see a look of confusion and concern in my fiances eyes as he watched her miss my vein several times while repeating «sorry.» She was «not able» to find the vein in my left arm… which is clearly visible and many others have found success with. So she proceeded to prep my right arm. She immediately found a vein. This woman’s attitude leads me to believe that she did this to prove a point. because I «told her how to do her job.» Further proof of her «know it all without the backing attitude» was our final conversation. The amount of blood they drew was more than I have ever had drawn at once and I got light headed. When I said that it made sense why I could not donate blood she smugly told my that my lightheartedness was all in my head. I then informed her that I was told on more than one occasion that because I was under 100lbs (i am only 5ft) that I was not a candidate to donate blood. To this she had no argument, handed me a cup and said «I need you to pee in this.» Now I understand the the medical field is a business. However the lack of professionalism, compassion, attentiveness and simple common courtesy displayed at this facility is absolutely unacceptable.

I walked in, read the sign that said ‘sign in if you have an appointment’ so since I had an appt I naturally walked over to that sign in sheet versus the one that says ‘walk in’. She instantly asks «do you have an appointment» and I reply «yes» then she proceeds to tell me to sign in at the place I was already signing in at. Yes, I can read. So I sit and wait, not too long, and then she calls my name only to ask AGAIN if I have an appointment. Didn’t we already cross this bridge? Aren’t your computer systems set up to see who has an appointment at what time or can people just come in and say they have appointments when they don’t. Next I hand her my lab slip that my doctor gave me which clearly states what type of tests she would like. The lady responds with «we don’t need this sheet». Well then who the fuck does?! You don’t need the sheet that says ‘quest diagnostics’ and tells you WHY I’m here? Idiot. After I tell her that, yes, you do need that paper, she asks me if I’ve been fasting since the paper says I need to. Yes lady, I have. Again, I know how to read.
The lady that took my blood was more competent and that I appreciate. As for the front desk lady, get it together.

Greeting from Cranky blond female employee behind the desk: Do you have your paperwork?
Me: Yes
Cranky Employee: Give it to me
Me: Ok
Cranky Employee: Oh great, I’ve gotta run more labs!
Me: (thinking to myself) Uhh, this is a bloodwork lab. Isn’t that your job? I’m sorry to inconvenience you. That’s like going to Starbucks, ordering a coffee and having the barista complain, Oh great, I have to make another coffee.
Nasty attitude, kind of depressing waiting room. You can see right into where people are having their blood drawn, so if you are squeamish about those things, you may want to sit elsewhere if you are waiting for someone.
Now the technician that actually drew my blood was nice and good at what she did, one quick slide and the needle was in, 3 minutes later, all tubes filled, bandage on and onto the bathroom for a urine sample. Bathroom was a little ick and there are no hooks to hang your coat or purse. No one told me what I had to to when I was finished, so I approached the desk and asked if I was done, they said yes, I said thanks and out the door I went.

This was my second time visiting Quest for some labs. I did not make an appt but the experience was awful (worst the second time, not as bad the first). I signed in and was told it was going to be about a 30 minute wait. The waiting room was packed but had to get it done, so I decided to wait. 75 minutes later I was called back! When I was finally called back, the girl decided that she was out of tubes and proceeded to re-​stock her tubes and told me that she just didn’t have time to do this earlier! I sat in the chair for another 10 minutes. While she was pleasant, this was just not the right time to be doing this. It seemed to be that there were only 2 people drawing blood as it seemed to take almost 20 minutes between every patient. I get that it could have been quicker with an appt, but 75 minutes is just out of control, especially when you are told 30 minutes. The thought of getting up and leaving crossed my mind, but at that point I had already invested some serious waiting minutes. Oh well, I hope better luck next time.
