Mathers Tree Service specializes in large tree removal. With 30 years experience removing Oaks, Redwoods, and Sequoias, Mathers Tree Service is committed to the safety of not only our crew, but your property and loved ones. Have a small tree? We do those too.

Pruning:

Have a tree you would like to see thrive? Pruning is an important part of taking care of your trees – but every tree is unique. Have our Certified Arborist come out and give you the best recommendation for how and when you should have your trees pruned. We’ll take care of the rest.

Arborist Reports:

There are many reasons you may be required to obtain an Arborist Report. Mathers Tree Service has a Certified Arborist who is knowledgable and will work with you to get the best recommendation and detailed report for whatever your needs are.

History

Established in 2012.

Mathers Tree Service revved up their first chainsaw in the Spring of 2012, but with 30 years of experience behind it. Rich Mathers began his career as a tree climber in 1984 and has worked for a number of tree services big and small over the years, becoming one of the best in the business. Mitchell Mathers, his son, grew up around the industry and after graduating from college in 2009, began working as a groundsman for another local company. When Mitch expressed interest in becoming a Certified Arborist, Rich realized his son was getting serious about being «in the business», they decided to start their own service. Rich and Mitchell are committed to the highest quality of work, job site safety, and customer service. Call us today for a free estimate!

Rich and Mitchell Mathers are the best in the tree business. I had a 100+ foot redwood tree that was drought stressed and dangerously close to our home in Danville. Mitch had to go above and beyond to deal with our town and a tree removal permit. Rich, his father, is a tree cutting rockstar! Furthermore, their crew was awesome. I highly recommend Mathers Tree Service.

We just had Mathers remove a large tree that was doing some damage to our foundation. They were fast, reliable, and the price was right! We have a metal shingle roof which is very hard to walk on without damaging. The crew was very aware of this and took extra time and effort to remove the tree without getting on the roof. I highly recommend them for any tree removal and pruning service!

I called these folks off of one of those inserts in the Valpak over a year ago and got a really reasonable quote for removal of some large trees and trimming of a large oak in my back yard. I called them up 2 weeks ago finally and the quote was still good they came out within a week and in 4 hours knocked out removal of three trees one of which was atleast 50ft tall. 4 guys including the owners (father and son) and 2 other helpers. Very polite, got right to work and let me know progress along the way. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. I’ll definitely use these guys again and I highly recommend them

I had shopped around for different quotes on pruning a sycamore tree and a palm tree and everyone besides Mathers Tree Service was giving me wild quotes. But Mitchell came by and knew exactly what kind of trees they were, how to trim them properly and gave me the best quote out of 3 others I looked into. Mitchell and his father and the rest of his crew were extremely polite and incredibly thorough. They arrived early and were done quickly. They were professional and friendly the entire time and kept checking in with me during the process to make sure everything was to my liking and they were not over-​trimming. I will definitely be using them again in the future. — Oh yeah and I also love their website and logo!

Great company. I called for an estimate on having a big tall cypress tree removed and Mitchell came out and said probably about 300 dollars. He said he could come back in two days to take it out if I wished. They arrived a bit early and the job was done in less than an hour. They cut the tree, ground the stump up, cleaned up and left… super efficient and friendly. They let my 8 year old watch the whole thing. He also only charged us $ 250 since it didn’t quite as long as planned. I would totally use them again and probably will.

First class. Removed a number of trees from our back yard and were professional throughout. Arrived on time for both the quote and tree removal, and knew what they were doing. Didn’t cause any damage — which arguably is the most important thing, and tidied up after themselves, so first class and would not hesitate to recommend.

They removed a large tree in our front yard and trimmed two mulberry trees as well. The project was completed in one day and our yard was immaculate when they left. Wonderful customer service: friendly, responsive, and prompt. Estimate was well-​priced and they were able to come out the following week to remove the tree along with all the debris.

Mitch came gave us a good price, 5 days after initial estimate visit they came and did a awesome job.
Before they left they cleaned and Mitch walked with me, showed me what they did and asked if I was satisfied.
I was. I have to comment on bright and happy smile Mitch has on his face. It is nice to see somebody working hard and enjoying what they do.

They trimmed our huge sycamore tree at front yard. The job was done professionally, efficiently, and at a fair price. After the trimming, they cleaned everything up and chipped the branches. We kept the chips for mulching.
We are very pleased with the wonderful job done by Mathers Tree Service and will certainly recommend them to people with confidence!

I found this company through a Google search and this was the second tree service company I received an estimate from. Mitch provided a fair price for removal of a privet and orange tree. They were conscientious about not damaging vehicles or a neighbor’s patio overhang, two potential hazards that were in the area they were working. Their clean up job was good and all in all I am quite happy with having more sunlight and less hassle in my yard. Would recommend.

We just moved into a house with beautiful oaks surrounding it. Our home inspector recommended we trim back the trees away from the home for fire safety purposes.
Mathers Tree Service gave me a lower estimate than the tree company that my realtor recommended, and although no one had referred them to me and I couldn’t find them on Unilocal (which I would’ve preferred), I took a chance.
I liked that when walking through our property, Mitchell recommended to defer work on a couple trees until a cooler season to avoid putting too much stress on those trees, despite this recommendation not being in their immediate interest of generating revenue on that work more immediately.
I also chose them because of their competitive pricing, they’re licensed, at least one owner /​operator is present for the job, Mitchell is a certified arborist and knowledgeable about preserving both the health and aesthetics of the oaks, and they had workers compensation coverage.
They just left our home after taking care of our trees, including removing weight and deadwood from large oaks, removing two small trees that were encroaching on a couple larger ones, removing large poisonous oleander bushes from near our deck, and removing poisonous oak vines that had grown up through two oak trees.
They were professional and friendly. Before starting work, we walked through the property again to validate the scope, and talked through any questions. They performed the job and midway through asked me to walk through and let them know if I wanted anything else. Based on our walk through, they removed one more large oak branch that was close to the deck. Then at the end of the job, they cleaned up nicely and thoroughly, and had me do one final walk through.
I will be using Mathers Tree Service again — this fall /​winter to take care of the oaks that they recommended to leave alone until it wasn’t so hot … I’d happily recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.
