I have a beautiful Oak front door with two side panels and a large decorative half circle on top which I had Liz and John refinish over 20 years ago. When I decided to refinish it again they were definitely my go to people for this job. I loved the job they did 20 years ago and I was even more pleased this time around when they returned my door looking like it did when it came out of the Feather River Showroom. They are extremely pleasant people to work with and their team, Hector and a young lady, were so professional and very meticulous. You will have to undergo about a ten day time span where a piece of wood is securely put in the place of your door and you won’t be able to have access to your home through this entrance for these ten days. But it is well worth it as they truly brought my door back to life during this time frame. Thank you for a job well done.

Our solid oak front doors were damaged by water and sun and looked destroyed. Everyone we asked recommended we replace the doors … they were a total loss. Caldeira thought differently. Given the quality of the solid wood doors they suggested having them restored. One week after they removed the doors Caldeira returned to the house and reinstalled what are the most beautiful doors in the neighborhood. Their work is perfect. I could not recommend a better craftsman than Caldeira.

We recently had our solid oak door refinished by Liz and her team. They did a fantastic job! Personal and professional from beginning to end. My interactions with Liz and Hector could not have been better. Few people really know how to refinish wood properly, but Liz and her team are pros!

We are so pleased that we selected Caldeira Refinishing for the restoration of our entry door. The door had been refinished once before, about 10 years ago by a «painter who also does wood refinishing.» The finish, exposed to the west sun, quickly cracked and deteriorated. I also, through the years, had chipped away at the mount frame, trying to get the hardware to lock as the door kept shifting. I made a mess of it! This time, we were determined to have it done right — and that’s where Caldeira Refinishing excelled. As far as I can tell, they are the ONLY company in the Concord/​Walnut Creek area that specializes in this kind of work. Despite a higher bid, we went with the specialist and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Liz Caldeira was a joy to work with and Hector Munoz, who worked on the sidelight panels, did excellent work (even coming by on his day off to check on his work). From the Unilocal reviews, I knew that Caldeira removed front doors and took them to their Dublin workshop for 2 – 3 weeks. This alarms some people, but there was no reason to worry. They put up a heavy plywood piece, screwed from the inside, over the opening. That probably made it tougher to break in than when the flimsy door was in place with no deadbolt working! Caldeira spent three weeks scraping, sanding, staining and putting on 4 – 5 coats of varnish. They even selected a stain (expresso) that closely matched the original dark walnut-​type finish. On their own, they found and replaced some of the frame screws had rusted and broken, making the sidelights flimsy. We were concerned about the sidelights matching the door, since they were done in two separate places. But the finished work was stunning and Liz promises to call in 2 years to check on how the door is looking and do some «touch up.» Bravo! It was well worth the cost (be sure to use the 10% coupon) and we now have a stunning wood entry.

We had our solid oak doors refinished by Caldeira from a honey yellow to a deep espresso finish. They were easy to work with, reasonably priced and took care of us every step of the way! They kept us informed throughout the entire process. Best of all, our doors turned out beautifully! Everyone who comes by our house comments on how beautiful they are. Had to have my front door refinished after is was painted a hideous color. Liz and John Caldeira did an outstanding job of sanding and restaining the door! It looks brand new and really makes the entry way pop! Everyone thinks I bought a new door, but it’s 14 years old!!!

Our front door was weather beaten and peeling… the sun and rain just beat on it even with an over hang. Liz at Caldeira Refinishing and her husband did a great job! Very professional. When they said they would be there they were… when they said it would be done it was. I even drove to their shop in Dublin to make sure I would like the stain they were using before it was applied. I would use them again and again!!!

I’ve been using Caldeira to maintain my original oak doors for over 12 years now. Just recently, I used them to strip off my old varnish & stain, and re-​stain with a darker (Espresso) stain. The results were fantastic. The front doors look brand new, and the new color is beautiful (thank you Liz!). I highly recommend Caldeira to anyone who wishes to save & beautify their solid wood front doors.

I just had my front door refinished by Caldeira. It was in terrible shape, completely sun bleached and cracked. They did a fabulous job and now the door looks like new. Everyone I worked with was completely professional. I will recommend this company to anyone who needs a door refinished.

The owner not only is not professional, not talented, a theif, but lies as well. I took time off work for a scheduled appointment for her and her husband to come fix the lock for a second time on Friday April 6^th and they didn’t even show up. I called a number of times and they didn’t even answer the phone. They basically took my money for shoddy work. Save youself the trouble and find a reputable vendor… having a door that doesn’t work is a hazard to all in the home. I have hired a reputable vendor and am happy with his work.
