Segway of Coronado

I made a reservation for 3 and in a couple of hours as promised for the owner /​operator Norm got back to me as promised to confirm. Norm the owner was a nice, funny guy on the phone When he texted me he provided detailed directions and a reminder to let him know if we could not make it so he can fill our spots. Unfortunately on the morning of our tour I woke up with a fever and chills in the hotel room. I was either going to attempt to go or just drop off my daughter and wife. My wife and daughter did not want to go with out me so my wife insisted on canceling. .I felt bad canceling with just a few hours left but my wife spoke to him and he was professional and joking saying it was better for me to go home and rest. Nice and honest guy. When we go back it will definitely be with Coronado Segway

Our guide, Barbara and the tour were both fantastic. Our only suggestion would be to get headsets. We’ve been on segway tours all over the world and this was the first one without headsets. There were only 2 of us so it was fine but with a larger group it might be difficult to hear. Headsets would also allow you to concentrate on the views and the road instead of the guide. All that said, I would do it again! It was terrific! We took the Deluxe Tour which was 2.5 hours so your feet are going to hurt (that’s just segways) but Barbara had great tips about how to have your feet hurt less. It’s definitely worth doing!

Tour was wonderful! My friend and I were first timers and Barbara made us feel at ease and safe. She gave us a great tour and history on Coronado. If you are in town for a short trip I would suggest this as one of your first stops. Barbara gave us great information on restaurants and things to do around Coronado and surrounding areas. We had a great time!

The Segway tour was AMAZING!
Our guide was Barbara, a nice petite energetic lady, who gave us a broad historical background of the island and explanations on the unique architecture of the houses. She explained all in a very funny, accurate and enjoyable way, and provided answers to all of our questions.
Barbara is a professional, and you can sense is immediately when she makes sure that safety comes first, and alerts all pedestrians they we are swinging by.
Barbara made our first Segway adventure to be unforgettable!

Loved it! I had never ridden a segway, and while I was hesitant, our leader Barbara was great. She gave us a tutorial before we began the tour so we all knew how to stop, start, turn, and go up and down curbs. It’s a very strange feeling at first, but she inspired confidence and assured me that I wouldn’t fall on my butt. The tour itself was awesome, we got to see the bay, and all sorts of highlights around Coronado. It was clear that the leader herself loved Coronado, and this shined throughout the tour. She knew a lot about the history of the island and the architecture that she shared with us throughout the tour. I loved to see all of the interesting houses throughout Coronado, and we would even stop to look at some with particularly historical and unique qualities. I highly recommend this if you want to get a cool and fun tour of Coronado!

This tour was great! Barbara was wonderful! We had never been on a Segway, and she thoroughly showed us how to use them! Then we were off to a great tour around Coronado! She knew the history of the town, hot spots in Coronado, and great place ex to go on the Segway! It was a great day! We’re planning on coming back and bringing more of our family!

My friends and I wanted to try segways as none of us had ridden them before. We tried to take a tour of Balboa Park in San Diego but there was a marathon on the day we wanted to go so a lot of the roads were closed in the downtown area. We were glad to find this company in Coronado. So glad we did because it was waayyy cheaper.
Our guide was Barbara and she was great. Before she let us loose on the road she took the time to tutor every person in the group on how to get on/​off, steering, stopping, and going up and down the curbs.
Once we started, she took us all around Coronado… through neighborhoods, by the marina/​tent city, under the bridge and the ferry landing. She knew all about the history and the little quirks about the houses that we passed.
Overall, it was a great experience and I felt really relaxed on the segway after my lesson. It was a fun way to explore the city and the little neighborhoods.

The Segway tour of Coronado was fantastic. Jessica, our guide did a great job of training us how to be safe, taking us around the island and showing us the sights, and especially giving us historical tour of some rather fascinating houses. I highly recommend Segway of Coronado and Jessica. It is a great way to see the sites.

My friend and I did the Deluxe Coronado Segway tour on ⁹⁄₁₇. It was wonderful. Tour guide was great. Had a lot of fun. Although I have lived in San Diego for 40+ years, I still learned things about the area that I did not know.

A few months back, my husband and I had a family member come and visit for several days. After the 3^rd day, we were out of things to do, so my husband called Norm and he had 3 segways available for an afternoon tour of Coronado. He gave the group of about 10 an instruction session and then made time for every single participant to properly demonstrate how to operate and stop on the segway. Needless to say, we had a blast. My family member saw a great side of Coronado and went home with a great memory. I highly recommend the tour of Coronado on a Segway… it is an experience you will not forget!

Nicole showed us several unique trees, homes and Tent City display. It was all fun.
She knew how much pictures mean to us, took us to fantastic locations .
I recommend this activity and specially this guide.

My husband and I were in San Diego, celebrating his birthday, and his big wish was to ride a segway. I checked out the other paces, but they all wanted at least $ 200 for tours of downtown, etc. I checked Segway of Coronado online, and their prices beat everyone by leaps and bounds. I believe we paid $ 124 total for both of us to go on a guided tour.
When we showed up, our guide (female.I think her name was Nicole, but I could be totally off) wasn’t expecting us. She was showing two older women how to use their segways. When we showed up, she just said, «Oh…I’m going to have to go get two more, nobody told me.», but before she got the chance, the older women said they weren’t going to go because they couldn’t take it on their knees. (Wow, did that sound dirty to anyone else?)
At first, our guide seemed really frantic and kind of annoying, and I was starting to dread having to deal with her the entire time, but once the women left, she relaxed and was actually really nice.
She went through the basics and trained us on how to properly use the Segways. It didn’t take us long, but we’re the quintessential nerds, so we were born to ride! Holla!
Once we knew what we were doing, we took off. We went through a residential area, then down by the docks, by the bridge, golf course, etc. I think we got a lot of tour for our money, because we were out for a long time.
Our guide stopped and took pictures of us with our phone along the way, I think four times, which was really cool, because who doesn’t want a picture of themselves in front of the beautiful Downtown skyline wearing a communal helmet? (But really, I appreciated the pictures.)
I would do this again in a second. The money we paid was well worth the tour, and the experience.

I’ve lived in San Diego for over 20 years and I have to say, this is one of the most FUN things to do around town! Bobby, our tour guide was excellent and in just 20 short minutes, we were off on our segways riding around Coronado. It was my daughter’s 15^th birthday, and she LOVED every minute of it! I highly recommend it to all who are visiting San Diego or are lucky enough to live here. SO MUCH FUN!!!

My husband and I just got back from our 10 year anniversary. We frequent San Diego often but decided to do something a little different.
Unfortunately, things started off a little bad, as i went to their website and filled in the reservation form the week before. No call or contact back. So I called the day before we wanted to go and left a message. No call back. Last chance, I called the day off and luckily third time was a charm and I reached someone and made a reservation. Now. that being said…
We got there and Bobby, our guide was absolutely wonderful! Luckily it was just my husband and I on the tour, so we had fun joking around and he was very patient as he showed us how to ride them. It was a lot easier than I thought! We went all around Coronado, he took pictures for us. The fun/​memorable highlights were: driving along the bay side next to the water; driving through the homes and stopping to buy lemonade from little girls at a lemonade stand; some Asian tourists wanting to take pics of us! LOL!
Overall…it was tons of fun and we loved it and have told all of our friends! We will definitely be back.

Good time on the Coronado tour. Equipment was excellent and our guide Billy was very helpful and informative. Worth every penny!

We had an awesome time on this segway tour. Norm was a great guide and allowed us to really have our freedom on the segways. We were the only ones on the tour, which was pretty awesome. It started out with a short lesson and then we went all around Coronado for about 2 hours. Norm knew a lot about the island’s history and vegetation, so that was cool to hear about. but the main attraction was just riding the segways. We had so much fun… they were so easy to ride and it was almost like it was intuitive — it knew when we wanted to stop and start or turn, etc. We would totally buy segways if they fit into our lifestyle and area! Norm even sent us some pictures afterwards. Take this tour — it is a great price and a lot of fun! We are recommending it to all of our family and friends!
Sidenote:
There’s a great café/​bakery around the corner called Tartine. It was really good… we went there for breakfast and then walked over for the 11:30am tour. It was the perfect morning!

Rode the Coronado Ferry from the Broadway Pier and walked over to Segway of Coronado — about a half block from the Ferry Landing. Our tour guide taught us what we needed to know and even the somewhat uncoordinated members of our group now consider themselves Segway Masters.

I went on the Coronado Segway tour this weekend, and it was a great time. Norm, the owner of Coronado Segway, is a genial, knowledgeable guy who leads a fun and interesting tour.
Coronado is a beautiful island, and you really can’t go wrong sightseeing on a Segway, looking at Glorietta Bay, the Coronado bridge, the Hotel Del, the beach and some of the gorgeous houses in Coronado. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, I highly recommend this tour.

I always wanted to go segwaying and it was definitely on my to do list. When my friend’s birthday came around, I decided to include this in his birthday gift. Something new and outdoors like. I searched on the website for a good deal and this place was the cheapest. I didn’t know which tour to take exactly, but I knew I wanted to go around Coronado. I ended up choosing the Coronado Bayside Tour, which is a 1.5−1.75 hours long. It included segwaying around:

Clearly I just got that part off the website. Any way. I took the morning tour at 9:30am. I wasn’t sure if it would be hot in the afternoon. Any way, I bring my friend there, who was completely shocked and surprised. I told him we’re going to roll around today and he was seriously, «WTF? I didn’t bring extra clothes or shampoo or anything.» He was totally surprised and excited when he found out we were going to go segwaying, something we both haven’t done and something he totally never thought of.
So you meet Norm, I believe he’s the owner or something. We were the first in our tour group to arrive. Finally all of us were there, about 8 total. I didn’t know the other members btw. They were much older and came from some other part of CA. First things first, Norm taught all of us the ropes of how to segway before departing the shop. We got our helmets on and he taught us how to go up and down ramps, stop, how to go faster, and how to slow down. After you learn everything and everyone else, which takes about 5 – 10, you’re off. Btw, it was SOO easy to learn. You just use your body balance.
We go every where that I listed above. Norm told my friend and I to go in the end of the pack. I think he did this on purpose, since we were much younger than the others. And after segwaying for a while, I realized why he did that. The whole time we messed around at the back of the line. Going super fast, racing each other, taking pictures, videotaping each other, and having an AWESOME time. It was so much fun. In the front of the pack, Norm went over all the historic facts, which I heard during some of the stops we made. So at least I got some of that.
Also, Norm takes a complimentary picture of you and your group and gives you a free copy! How nice is that?
Segwaying is SOOOO much fun and something you ought to try if you haven’t. If you think that $ 69 (that’s the price of the Coronado Bayside Tour) is a lot for an 1.5−1.75 hours, it is totally worth it. After segwaying for a while, you get kind of tired staying up on your two feet for so long. If I stayed longer than that segwaying, I’d totally be pooped.
I definitely want to go back and go on their other tours like their Balboa Tour, which includes lunch! Ah. I want to Segway now!
