Spartan Van Lines

We were moving from Oakland to Seattle in November 2015. We got several quotes, but Spartan Van Lines was the best price, so we went with them. It was a great decision and I do not regret it.
Eddie and his team arrived on time and immediately got to work. The first thing Eddie did was go through all my stuff with me and he paid close attention to items that were particularly delicate and breakable. There were also items I had already packed that I needed to take with me. He made sure his team did not disturb those items.
Both Eddie and his team worked very fast and very hard! They started at 8am, and we’re done by about 2pm. They then went to another job!
Everything was packed very nicely and his team was very careful with my stuff. When I received my items, nothing was broken or missing.
They were wonderful and even helped me remove (and obviously pack) my baby gates for my son.
I would recommend Spartan Van Lines and Eddie’s team to any of my Bay Area friends who are looking to relocate!

We are moving and hired Spartan. We had to change dates around because of weather, selling our house, etc. They were so accommodating, very professional and the most pleasant company to work with. The crew they sent out were awesome! Chava, Ernesto, and Sergio set the hardest workers! They took pride & care in wrapping, padding, and loading our items int the truck. They didn’t rush and toss it in like they don’t care. It probably took them longer than they planned, but they were troopers! Thank you Spartan!!! Highly recommended!!!

The team Eddie, Sergio and Edgar are awesome. They arrived my apartment in Sunnyvale, CA on 1÷28÷2016 at 1:05 and left around 3:35. They handled everything very professional and care.

The team of Eddie, Ricardo and R.J. were awesome. They arrived at my apartment in El Cerrito, CA on Wednesday, 1÷27÷16 at 12:30 and left about 4:30. They took very good care of my possessions by carefully handling the fragile boxes, wrapping all of my furniture with blankets and shrink-​wrap, and were all very friendly and enthusiastic! You can tell they take pride in their work and they all know the importance of providing excellent customer service.
Since my belongings are in their possession, I will add another review once I take delivery in NC. But I am confident that my experiences there will be just as good as they were here in California.
Overall, I am totally satisfied and I would not hesitate to recommend this moving company to anyone! They are affordable and they know what they are doing!

I am sooooooo happy with Spartan Van Lines! Bay Area folks, do not hesitate to hire them for your long distance moves. Everything went great with the move on both ends. Both sets of movers were very professional and willing to help with whatever I asked, and the most important thing: I got all of our stuff back safe and sound!

I have no problem disclosing that I was indeed asked to write a review (what company doesn’t do this?), but in NO WAY was I paid or compensated for it. I had the worst experience with Spartan Van Lines and truly hope that no other customer faces the difficulties I had with this company.
The movers were 4 hours late. One of them constantly asked if I would write him a positive Unilocal review throughout the packing. Then, when the packing was finished their moving truck died in front of my garage.
It continued when the movers arrived to drop off my items in the new location. My items had not been packed properly (including my mattress) and couch.
The company is incredibly difficult to work with because they are difficult to reach and are very inconsistent. I am still in the process of resolving these issues.

I hired Spartan Van Lines for moving a 1 bedroom apartment from Bay Area to Chicago, IL. Extremely satisfied with the service and professionalism from Spartan Van Lines.
My sales coordinator was Mark, who explained in detail my quote and all moving related things. He got us a moving date for next day which was great as I was crunched for time.
My moving coordinator was Greg and team. Amazing folks. Very professional. Greg and his team arrived on time. They carefully dismantled the furniture and wrapped it with great care. They were in and out very quickly, that helped me move out on time.

We used Spartan Van lines for our move to Frisco TX from the SFO Bay area. Mark was our contact and his quote was reasonable. We selected Spartan based on the reviews and also based on my conversations with Mark. He came and provided the in house estimate, which was reasonable and seemed like a dependable guy and I our pick up was scheduled for 12/​20/​2015 in between 8 AM to 10 AM.
On ¹²⁄₂₀ we got the call from Greg (Pick up Team) around 8 – 30 AM and he confirmed the pickup at 9 AM. Greg and his team arrived on time and reviewed all the moving items. He went over all the particulars in detail and he explained me how they will pack and move stuff. Greg and his team did an awesome job in moving my stuff and they very careful in handling my valuable items. Greg made sure I am comfortable the way they are packing my furniture and showed me how protected my furniture will be, this increased my trust in the company and my over all move. Thanks Greg for making our move less stressful so far…
I will complete my review once I received my stuff in Frisco, but I am very hope full I will have the same experience.

It was nice to have a rep (Alex) come to the house to give a flat rate quote. Other companies tried to do everything over the phone. Alex was professional and turned around my quote very quickly. He also was available and very responsive as I had basic questions about our cross country move.
Acceptance of the quote and scheduling was a breeze.
Elmer (crew lead) called me a couple days before and the morning of our appointment to confirm and arrived on time.
It was slightly raining in the early morning and they laid down a runner and created a pathway through the house and up the stairs with plastic.
I was amazed at how well they wrapped up all our furniture and mattresses and boxed up our TV.
This outfit has exceeded my expectations thus far. We look forward to receiving our stuff on the other coast and will Unilocal how Spartan Van Lines completes our job.

The entire Spartan Van Lines team is amazing. Seriously. Don’t even consider hiring anyone else to move your life from point A to point B. They are the 5^th professional mover that I’ve worked with over the years and are by far the most dedicated and professional.
My husband and I initially chose Spartan based on their solid Unilocal and BBB reviews. The flat quote was a selling point and sure enough – the estimate that Alex gave us in the beginning was the same cost that we paid in the end. They hire and vet their own team, too. And it shows in their camaraderie and determination.
In particular, Eddie, Sal and RJ out of Castro Valley went above and beyond. Our new home is up a ridge line on the Sonoma Coast and deliveries are made around the back of the home via a dirt fire trail. Unfortunately, the winter rains made the road slippery enough that their truck couldn’t make it up the hill. But rather than being deterred, Eddie Sal and RJ hauled our belongings up the alternate route – a flight of 25 – 30 stairs. That’s hardcore… they all three deserve promotions for their drive to get the job done.

I am so very pleased with the move that Salvador, Eddy, and Mario did for us today. 3 bedroom house belonging is not a joke. They came on time, were very professional, paperwork in place, wrapped everything neatly, paying attention to heavy and fragile things that we have plenty of… very happy with 3 of them and the outcome

Greg and his crew are awesome! They moved our place on 11/​16/​2015, in about 7 hours. Nothing was damaged and they put everything where we asked them to when they unloaded. A+ service.
Next time we move, we will definitely give them a call.

We’ve done a few moves in the past — some went very smoothly and some… not so much. So when we had to plan this move, I stressed about it for months! We called several companies and after reading the glowing Unilocal reviews and meeting with Will, we selected Spartan Van Lines. They weren’t the least expensive choice, but I just got a good feeling that this company would handle the job properly.
Today is Moving Day. I have a great team here, loading all of my earthly possessions. They are friendly, careful and efficient, and so far, the stress level is pretty low. I’d like to give a shout out to the 3 guys handling the job: Eddie, Adam and Ovidio. Thanks for making this first part of our move go so smoothly!
Hopefully, because of the care they’ve taken on the front end, all of our furniture and belongings will arrive safely on the other end!!!

We moved from San Francisco to Portland, OR this past September. Will Bauman was our first contact with Spartan Van Lines. He was very professional and took his time to explain all moving charges. He went through our apartment as was very efficient at asking what needs to be moved. We felt very confident and trusted his representation of the company.
Moving is very stressful and he was reassuring. The process of moving was made less stressful with his involvement. On moving day the crew of Elmer, Mario and Salvador were so helpful in getting everything packed and taped securely. Things went very smoothly. I really felt that everything we owned were in good hands. Elmer was able to handle any special request and everyone did a great job making sure everything was protected in the necessary moving blankets.
Once everything was on the truck, the next apprehensive part was hoping everything made it safely to it’s final destination. It did. Though the timing could have been better. We called a few times to get an ETA and the «estimated» time felt like it kept changing. Ultimately our belongings did arrive within the time contract stated, but somehow we were under the impression it would arrive earlier than scheduled.
The unloading of the truck had a two person crew with Salvador as the lead. The unloading process was a lot faster. Only one drinking glass was broken and it wasn’t that valuable. Salvador did a great job unloading everything and setting everything up… bed, extra shelves in walk in closet.
Everybody did a great job. I don’t like moving, but if I had to do it again soon, I would use Spartan Van Lines again.

So far so good. Greg and his crew are super professional and work very hard. I could not be more impressed with the first stage of our move. Thank you Greg and team.
