Sunshine Gutters

New to the neighborhood, Sunshine Gutters was the only one of several to even return my call. With El Nino bearing down, other companies couldn’t even take the trouble to call back. Sunshine was responsive, communicated well, explained the quote, didn’t try to up-​sell me, and quickly installed new gutters without issue or complication.

My gutters were in bad shape. Water sprayed everywhere from my old seamed gutters, including back towards the house whenever it rained. I called a ton of places trying to get quotes. Only Sunshine and Home Depot called me back. Oh, one other place did call back but they said they only did gutter cleaning in the fall/​winter. Installation was done in the dry season. Um, thanks, but not helpful with the current rain and El Nino and such.
Anyway, Sunshine got back to me right away. Their prices weren’t cheap but were the same as what Home Depot was charging. They didn’t try to sell me on the gutter guards which would’ve doubled the cost. The installation took about 4 hours and was completely painless. The installers were nice and made sure we were happy with the downspout placement and everything else. Gold star to Sunshine Gutters. Now, bring back the rain!

They did an excellent job replacing gutters. Sunshine accidentally underestimated the amount of gutter needed for the house. The foreman on the job noticed this once he arrived to do the work. He called the owner Nir, and Nir brought the extra gutter that was needed while the crew continued to work. Nir billed me for the amount of gutter on the original estimate saying it was his company’s mistake. Very honest, and they do good work. Thanks guys!

These guys are excellent. My house had a terrible gutter system and we only realized it a few weeks before the rains started. Nir and team were able to give me a great price, and squeezed me in despite multiple jobs… I know they were slammed. On top of it, a few of their techs were sick, but they still got to my house and did a fantastic job.
They are honest, friendly and all around very fair. I highly recommend them for your home as well!

I am soooo disappointed! They gave me the «big Deal» flat rate of $ 310.00 and stayed for less than a half hour. I asked for a reasonable discount and they lowered it to $ 285…I am NOT impressed. They could have at least looked busy for longer than that. Highway robbery!!! It’s a duplex and that’s not even enough time to sweep the gutters. I’m going to call back and ask what they actually did.
I see it’s my fault for not actually reading the reviews… Now I see all the disappointed clients… All I can say is what a rip off

I called and left a message to call me to discuss repairing a rain gutter and install all new gutter guards. Based on the comments on Unilocal,they do repairs. When they called back I explained again what I needed and was told they would only come out to install new gutters but would not do any repairs to existing ones. Business must be so good they can now pick and choose what work they want to perform. Bonnie

I had made an appointment for Sunshine Gutters to come to my home on 11÷11÷15 between 11:30am — 12:30pm I had taken the day off of work to make sure I could be there and bring my dog in the house when they arrived. At around 12:15pm I received not a call but an email letting me know something came up and the tech would not be coming to my home.
I responded to the email letting them know that I was upset that I was not called since they had my number but sent an email instead letting me know that they would not show up. I then asked if they were going to reschedule since that had not been mentioned in the email to let me know they were not going to come. I received a email later that day said they would follow up with me the following day (Thursday). I never got a email to reschedule or a phone call on Thursday and on Friday I reached out again asking if they had plans to reschedule and heard nothing. I was not happy with the customer service and did not appreciate that my time was not important or my emails were important enough to respond to.

$ 650 to change the bottom ends of 4 downspouts and seal 2 small gutter corner seam leaks!!! REALLY??? I got quotes of $ 900 to completely replace all gutters and downspouts with new. You be the judge of how outrageous that is. Also spent time trying to point out other gutter issues (not real issues mind you) and clearly wanted to sell me on gutter cleaning service too.
Hey Sunshine, not every bid can be a home run. Mix in some singles here and there and that may lead to home runs in the future.
Response to your Comment below for clarity:
My «steel» downspout work was NOT due to a poor installation as you state. I had drainage work done after those downspouts were installed and the bottom angles were ripped apart to fit into the drainpipes. Remember? THAT’S why I called you (I couldn’t remember the name of the company I used before or I would have called them too) so surprised you are using the ‘poor installation’ and ‘get what you pay for’ defenses here — Convenient though.
It shouldn’t take a professional more than 2 hours to do this work and I don’t know anybody that makes $ 325 /​hr. Maybe a hedge fund manager? Oh yeah, you would need about a 6′ piece of standard steel downspout and some sealant, screws, and rivets so there’s that… Alternatively, you could have quoted me for 4 steel pre-​fab 1.5″ offsets (which I ended up buying all for $ 65 retail) that simply need to be riveted or screwed on.
Another suggestion… If you are sealing a specific seam, simply clean the area around that seam not the entire gutter. This will save you a lot of time you can pass on as savings to the customer that simply wants the seam sealed NOT the gutters completely cleaned. I’m no expert though but makes sense to me.
Nice to see you are quickly responding here but would have been nicer to at least attempt to explain your bid when you called and get the feedback from me then.
As for the up-​sell comment I made above, fine, but that’s not my big issue just simply an annoyance when I’m trying to get a bid for specific work and compounded when the bid comes back totally ridiculous and a complete waste of my time which I needed to make special arrangements to be there for.

My experience with Sunshine Gutters was nothing less than awesome. Nir showed up right on time and gave me a number of options to solve my gutter problem (standing water). He recommended that I try to reseal the corner joint myself and even gave me a tube of sealant for the job!
I will definitely be using Sunshine Gutters in the future for any and all of my gutter needs.

We wanted to replace our roof and gutters since we bought the house. Since the forecast is for a serious winter we’ve decided to do it. We’ve Googled and Unilocaled and after a few calls, found Sunshine Gutters. The company have great reviews, and they are LOCAL !!
From our first call, we knew this is the company we should go with, very friendly and informative, explained all we needed to know and scheduled to come and give us an estimate. When Nirco, the owner, came for the estimate he was very professional, he gave us all the different options and colors we can choose, and made our decision much easier. We got a very reasonable price, and a great service. We’re really happy with the results. Highly recommended !!! Defiantly 5 STARTS !!

Fantastic, prompt service at a good price. Even though it was a small job, the owner not only drove by to check on the work as it was being done, but also called the next day to make sure I was satisfied. Highly recommended.

Sunshine Gutters is a great company to work with. From my initial contact, they have been responsive and professional. We needed our downspout repaired and reattached to our house after a WM truck lifted it’s bucket and hit wires that ripped off our downspout. They came out and provided a quote. They had to order the same type of downspout that was damaged. When that came in, they got us on their schedule and arrived early for the appointment. Their price did not break the bank either. Great company. I would definitely use them again.

I got my rain gutter fixed by Sunshine Gutters
This was of the most painless experiences I’ve ever had with a contractor
I called the company and Erin, the office manager answered the phone. I was hoping these people could repair a 30 feet of my rain gutter. Erin requested I send photos of the broken gutter over to her and she’d show it to the Compny owner and someone would get back to me.
I got a call back in at the end of the day with a price and detailed report.
I spoke with Yanay about my situation and he explained in details what he could and couldn’t do. Then I explored one of the potential solutions with him. He said he could send a service guy over inthe following day (Nirko — co owner) and do a real time evaluation of my situation, came with a doable soulotion and preform the repair that week!
They arrived on time for the install, however there was a miscommunication and the wrong style of gutters were installed. Unfortunately, we did not discover this problem until the men were completely finished with the job. I told the crew about the issue and within minutes Nirko called my cellphone and assured me the problem would be fixed the same day. They returned later that afternoon to install the correct gutters.
While their price was about $ 300 more than other quotes I received, what I liked about their product was that the gutters come direct from the factory with a pre-​enamel color that exactly matched the color of our house. We did not have to spend additional time on painting the downspouts.
Their customer service was top notch and I would definitely use this company again. I especially appreciated that the estimator, Nirko was in contact with me throughout the day to confirm that I was satisfied with the final installation. A++ service!

Incompetent. The facts:
HERE IS WHAT I WROTE TO THEM —
«I am very dissatisfied with the service. You will recall that Sunshine Gutters cleaned and inspected my gutters and „made sure all downspouts were flowing properly“ on 12÷22÷14. During the next rainstorm on 2÷8÷14 (just over a month later), the same gutter overflowed again. Now I am being billed for the same work again and told that two downspouts were clogged? Understand that this is the first issue I’ve had with the gutters in the 2 years I’ve lived here. Something doesn’t square.
Beyond the double work, I’m also dissatisfied with the quality of the work. Apparently, the technician must have swept off the roof itself. I came home to a bathroom filled with dirt and roofing debris that came in through an open skylight. There is also dirt and roofing debris on our deck and the perimeter of the house. I’m into the cleanup for an hour this morning and that was just the bathroom.
Finally, the technician suggested that two other downspouts are leaking and need to be replaced. Not sure how this was missed in December.
Am I missing something?»

«I have spoken to the lead technician who was at your house yesterday. The 2 downspouts that we unclogged are the same 2 downspouts that are cracked. They are located front left of house.
Your current downspouts are 2» round and because of the size of the downspouts it is very easy for them to get clogged in a short period of time.
For installation of 2(50 feet) pre-​painted 30 white 2×3 aluminum downspouts the price will be $ 700. Normally the price would be $ 820, but we took off $ 120 since debris went into your bathroom through the open skylight.
When we were there on 12÷22÷14 cleaning the gutters we had mentioned in the invoice that 1(20 foot) downspout needed to be replaced. We replaced that downspout for you on 1÷23÷15. And when we cleaned the gutters yesterday 2÷23÷15 we recommend to replace another 2 more downspouts.

I just wanted to express that I was very pleased with the new gutters that Sunshine installed on my home about 1 week before the big storms hit the Bay Area this year.
They did a very good job. Showed up on time. Installed new gutters and down– spouts. Completed in one day; removal, clean-​up and disposal of my old gutters.
I thought the price was very fair. I called roofers and they were more expensive and most didn’t even want to do the work unless I installed a completely new roof… which I did not need.
I would recommend Sunshine Gutters to anyone in the Bay Area that needs new rain gutters.

Got home and had to clean out drain in front of garage so it would not flood and then hose down home
Not what I was expecting

My moms property was in need of some gutters I called Sunshine Gutters because they were 4 plus stars, they did a great job with the gutters but the part that made me upset was they charged me an extra 500 dollars for dry rot work that they were going to complete and they are not a roofing company, they did not explain about the dry rot information well enough for me to understand and it just looks like they put two pieces of wood together for five hundred dollars, when I called to ask about the extra charge for the dry rot work the young man stated that he was going out of the country and they would get back with me once they got back I never received a call, after they completed the job they did not walk the property with me to show me the work that was completed, I also found one more dry rot problem very disappointed.
After reading your response I put you down to 1 star after the work was completed your workers did not want to show me the work because when they did rot work they had someone come with two pieces of wood just put them up in about 5 minutes for an extra 500 dollars are you kidding me, I was going to recommend you to a neigbor but she came by and showed her what you charged an extra 500 dollars for and I got her someone else who did and excellent job.
All the information that you are giving me now should have been given to me on the day the work was completed my neighbor let me know how long it took your worker to put up the two boards your responses are falling upon deaf ears, your company is very unprofessional and I will spread the information by word of mouth throughout the whole neigborhood give it a rest.
I did notify you by phone you even called the guy that worked on the home we were on a 3 way call and something happened to one of his family members and you guys said you would call back once he returned I never received a call back so with that my review shows how unprofessional the job was so I will not be responding to any more of what you think happened since you were not there, but I hope this review makes customers aware of your of your business practices and and they stay away.
You are now complaining about the time frame of this review I am a busy man I also did one for the guys that painted the home some real professionals you should take some notes.
I have already had the problem taken care of by a PROFESSiONAL roofing company I would not use you again and not recommend your unprofessional services and I will not be putting in a claim CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF THIS MERCHANT THEY OVERCHARGE FOR SERVICES THAT THEY ARE NOT LICENSED TO DO, They are a gutters company not a roofing company.

The price was fair — I had multiple bids and Sunshine was very competitive. I have a very old house with tons of windows (craftsman home built in 1929) and it was difficult to place the down spouts, but they made it work and I barely notice them.
