So good! We ate here everyday for breakfast on our vacation. Very friendly staff and good variety of food for a great price.

I love the food here, it is a much needed Waller break from the Carib Hilton! Please try the Sangria!

Extremely close to the Hilton Caribe and a fantastic spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Unfortunately we didn’t discover it until the end of our trip, but we ate ever meal there on our last day, and my son insisted we return the next morning for breakfast again. The fish tacos were fantastic, so was the whole red snapper. They were very friendly and we enjoyed their hospitality. Defiantly a must if your are staying at the Hilton and don’t want to eat the bland over priced hotel food. We were able to walk down and grab lunch and get right back to swimming and enjoying the beach.

We stayed at the caribe hotel and thanks to Unilocal reviews went here one day for breakfast the next for lunch. This place is great. Reasonably priced good food and friendly staff. There isn’t a lot of seating but we didn’t have a problem plus you can take it to go. I had an omlete with bacon(comes on the side) and it was good. It came with bread. Today I had the mahi mahi tacos and it was soo good! I would never usually order this but because it had good reviews I did and I’m so glad I did. Get some hot sauce and squeeze the limes on it and it was one of my favorite meals in PR.

A much needed wallet-friendly respite from the hotel restaurants at Caribe Hilton. We stopped in for a quick lunch – a pretty good Cubano sandwich($ 7), bangin’ Mahi-Mahi tacos($ 10), and two fruit smoothies. With tax, the bill was $ 30. The signs say«cash only,» but they were nice enough to let us use our credit card to pay for our meal at the adjoining liquor store. Tropical Cafeteria is not much to look at, but it was clean, the people were nice and the food was good – and very cheap compared to the crazy hotel prices. We will be back to try the breakfast!

If you are staying at the Caribe Hilton, I suggest trying this place for breakfast or lunch. It is a whole in the wall but they have an extensive menu with traditional PR food. We ate lunch here one day — I had the shrimp with Mofongo and my boyfriend at the snapper(which was a whole fish, by the way) and it was all delicious! They don’t accept cards but you can pay next door in the liquor store with a credit card. l

I hear the food is good and cheap but I never found out cause there is literally no parking anywhere on the street. If you want to pay for hotel parking that’s on you but u should factor that in if your coming here for a cheap meal.

Right across the street from the Hilton Caribe in San Juan. We needed dinner but didn’t want a chain or fancy, and thus fit the bill perfectly. I had the shrimp in their garlic sauce, with white rice and beans, and a small salad that might have been garnish, but with the sauce for the shrimp and beans was tasty. All was delicious. They went to the liquor/souvenir store next door(connected by a glass door) for a Magna beer. My husband had the red snapper fillet, rice and beans, with iced tea. For dessert we split a Tres Leches. All well-cooked and flavorful. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Staff was friendly. Service prompt. You pay at the counter –cash, so make sure you bring some. All that was $ 43, plus tip of $ 8. Well worth it. The only odd thing is that all the iced tea I’ve sipped in 2 days here tastes like sweetened instant with fake citrus. Served with line slice and mint leaf, but still, I’d recommend skipping it unless you ask if they brew their own. The Magna lager was tasty. We’re going back tomorrow for breakfast.

Two shop in one. A small restaurant with seating for 12 or so and a small liquor/convenient store. Great place to visit to pick up some drinks for your min fridge if u r staying at Hilton caribe. A bit pricer than the average liquor store but cheaper than the hotel. For example a cheap barefoot wine(not that I drink it or there’s anything wrong with drinking it) that’s 6 – 8 bucks in Ny is $ 17 in the store. Also offers all type of liquor and some beer. The restaurant next door is friendly and offers a large variety of food for breakfast lunch and dinner. While we were there at least 6 other guests showed up. Good affordable place to visit if u r at Hilton

Like many others have said if you are staying at the Caribe Hilton, go here. Even if you aren’t, go here. My wife and I ate here for at least one meal every day while we were at the hilton. The breakfasts were great, she got pancakes and I got a breakfast sandwhich. The lunches are great as we both really enjoyed our sandwhichs. You need to try the Mahi Mahi Tacos, they were perfect. The only down side for some people would be it is cash only. Which was not a problem at all for us. Highly recommend for a much more reasonable cost, and better tasting food than the Caribe Hilton.

Ate here a few times during our Caribe Hilton stay. The awning is different from other pictures, but it is the same place everyone is reviewing. Is a little hole in the wall, and a great find! Large portion breakfast and lunches. Food is hot and fresh. Great price, especially compared to eating at the hotel. We had omlets, breakfast sandwich, Mahi Mahi fish tacos and burger and fries. I don’t think we have anything bad to say about any of it. Service is ok.(Take note-the place next door does sell liquor but it is $$$ expensive! Not sure if it’s all the same establishment or not. Just a side note)

Had lunch and breakfast at this little café and I was not impressed. Although the prices are reasonable, the quality is questionable. We both had eggs and toast, but the eggs tasted funny and a piece of my husband’s toast was moldy. For lunch I had a turkey, ham and cheese wrap and it was greasy. My husband had fish taco and he commented that it was like fish sticks with hot sauce. Everything that we’ve had has lacked flavor.

If you’re staying at the Hilton Caribe, then walk across the street and eat breakfast here. It looks like a hole in the wall because it is. But the service is friendly, the café con leche beats Starbucks, and the food is tasty. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and an omelet. The omelet was huge and came with generous portions of onions, tomato, cheese, and bacon. The breakfast sandwich my partner ordered came with ham, egg, and cheese, and was served piping hot on flat bread. The meal was good enough to bring us back the following morning. There are definitely more upscale options available at the Hilton, but for straightforward breakfast fare it’s a good deal: breakfast for two ran to about $ 16, while one order of Eggs Benny on the room service menu is listed at $ 14.

I love fish tacos and the 3 Mahi Mahi tacos at this joint were magical — seriously rocked my world. I need to learn how to make fish like that! It was fresh and had amazing flavors in every bite. Skillfully prepared, the fish had flavor that seeped straight through the entire fillet. The papaya smoothie was well blended. I really enjoyed my lunch here! My bf got a white fish dish with salad, rice and beans. I liked my tacos better, but he was happy with his meal. Reasonably priced for generous portions. Right next to the Caribe Hilton, which has more expensive, less flavorful food at their restaurants(I’m talking hotel bar and their Pina Colada restaurant). Good coffee, good eats. Very casual with nice service.

If you’re staying at the Caribe Hilton and looking to escape pricey hotel food, walk across the street to this delicious spot. It’s certainly nothing fancy, but offers really good Puerto Rican dishes and American comfort food at a great price. The Pork and Beef with onions meal was really delicious, and it came with rice and beans. A side of sweet plantains was a perfect snack here too. Definitely visited this place more than a few times during my stay at the Caribe Hilton. Don’t forget: cash only.

Very good comfort food! I wanted to try some authentic Puerto Rico specialties, this restaurant showed up on my search and is right across the street from my hotel(Caribe Hilton). I was pleasantly surprised! The outside looks a little rough but the inside is clean and the service was very good. The food… that was amazing! I had shrimp mofongo in the red sauce(it was described as a gravy — it is tomato based with bell peppers and onion). My dinner was packed full of perfectly cooks shrimp and my fist bite made me smile, it was the perfect comfort food.

I had the fried red snapper or chillo, with salad and fried ripe plantain. Also they have beers and other beverages. Any other typical Puerto Rican food. The prices are good, the preparation was Tasty and the staff are nice. This is a much better place to grab a quick lunch than in the hotel itself as the food there is way too expensive. See my scary fish.,

If you want true how everyday people eat, this clean, friendly«hole in the wall» delivers. Its small and super clean. Inexpensive and very good cafeteria grub!!! Cash only. Maho mahi tacos are DELICIOUS! Rich and creamy island coffee for a fraction of starbucks. Nice portions! Small joint, but wonderful home-style cooking, a locals favorite!!!
