This is the Hong Kong version of fast casual dining, one step up from the typical MX fast food restaurant. It has a more comprehensive menu than its fast food sister and it’s in a «cha chan tang» setting with waiter service. Good value!

Three words. TOO. MUCH. SALT. and I’m pretty sure a tablespoon of MSG. I ordered the shrimp wonton soup. Ehhh… pretty awful. DONE.

The most common chain restaurants in Hong Kong are Fairwood, Café de Carol and Maxim. For me, I like Maxim the best. The other two are pretty much the same thing to me. Yup, even though your name is French, that does not make you any fancier. Therefore, I am pretty glad to see Maxim opened another restaurant called Maxim’s Hong Kong Day. Judging from its name, you can tell that it serves local food generally, but just like Hong Kong, it has the international vibe to it. With that in mind, Maxim’s Hong Kong Day is an even better place than Maxim. Located in the Olympian City 3, the mall itself is already quiet enough, not to mention the fact that this place is rather hidden and secluded — which can only mean one thing, NOWAITINGTIME. It is just so hard to find a place that does not require waiting for tables for half an hour during lunch hour. Of course this is slightly more expensive than the Maxim but the good thing is no service charge applied here. As I was walking by, I saw the meat volcano ads and that looked sick! Therefore I ordered the beef one. Frankly, it does not really look like that in the picture but as a local, I knew that no one should trust the advertisement. Anyways, I am not much of a meat lover, though there was not as much as meat, I was rather satisfied with the veggies there. Overall that only cost me around HKD$ 70 and I am fairly happy with this place.
