A perfect Café setting in the heart of Mong Kok. The café covers a few floors of the building and depending on if you are there for food, music, drinks or all three, they have different themes according to the floor. A few days of the week, they feature live entertainment like music and open mic. I’ve been there once for music and if you are on the floor that doesn’t have the artist, they broadcast the show on a projector. Their drinks are very delicious and unique. I prefer their teas over their smoothies. More refreshing and less sweet. I also really enjoy their food menu. They have special main courses daily and also snacks like chicken wings.

Place rating: 4 Hong Kong
There are not many eating places with live indie music in Hong Kong. Well, we know some restaurants has the ‘swooze team’, some bars have live bands that play mostly pop songs, and some high-end lounge has quiet and soothing jazz singers, but they are all professional musicians who play songs for a living, and they rarely CREATE, mostly playing songs on request i.e. mainstream music written by others and well-known. So it’s really nice for an upstairs café in the heart of Mongkok, probably the busiest district in Hong Kong, to take it as a mission to promote local budding music CREATORS and give them a platform to showcase their music to a captivated audience. The place is called the Full Cup Café, a homonym to the Chinese name — Breathing, because the owner thinks this relaxing café life of coffee and music, should come natural as breathing(an apt name!). The place is quite cramped, as in any other parts of Mongkok, with small tables and impossible aisle width. However the food is of acceptable standard and the drinks are actually quite nice(you know how crappy upstairs cafes can be some of the times…). From time to time, live music by local indie musicians is played at one of the 4 floors and live-broadcasted to the other floors. The café occupies 4(or is it 5?) floors on a single building and it would still be full-house at night, so go figure. Best thing about the place? It closes at 2am on Mon to Thu and Sun, and till 4am on Fri & Sat, or before public holidays. So it’s a good alternative to spend your late night, in lieu of drinking or clubbing~
