Ivy is a «French Riviera» style restaurant focusing heavily on seafood. My friends and I came here for dinner and tried a lot of dishes. The first thing that happens before you order or receive your food is a board arrives with freshly baked bread, tomatoes and other condiments you can help yourselves to. I was a bit mind boggled by this presentation, but was told it was an interactive way for customers to have something to do while they’re waiting for their food. We had the warm prawns with olive oil, escargot, beef tartare, sea bream carpaccio, sea bream en papillote among other things. Everything was fresh, although the sea bream en papillote was a tad overcooked. The service is a little discombobulated at times, but overall, a good experience.

The food at this place is supposed to be French Riviera food, so presumably the seafood is quite good. Came here for a late lunch and decided to try the 3-course set lunch, which seems to be better value. The crab salad was refreshing and delicious. It was done in a way that I have never tried it elsewhere. There is a good amount of crab meat in the salad. The bouillabaisse was OK, but not great. It came with two large-sized prawns. The baby squid pasta was good, with juicy squid. The dessert was again good, but portion seems to be on the small side. The view is good with panoramic view of the Victoria harbour.
