Kmart Tyre & Auto

Kmart is a perfectly fine place to get your car serviced. They were very efficient and my car was ready well before the expected finish time (even though it needed extra repairs on top of the service), and they are very transparent in terms of explaining exactly what is included in one of their service packages. They also give you a courtesy call if they discover a need for any major repairs so you’re not surprised with a bill you can’t afford when you come to pick up your car.
The only reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is that when they give you a whole bunch of ‘notes’ about possible future problems or things to look out for, they don’t really help you decipher these notes or give you any advice about what to do with said notes. Otherwise they’re great!

My car seemed to have a slow puncture on one tyre for a while, and the other tyres didn’t seem like they were in great condition either.
Knowing nothing about this kind of stuff I took my car into Kmart Tyre & Auto and was expecting them to call me after the assessment and say I needed 4 new tyres.
However within and hour I received a text that the job was complete. Worried they had put super expensive tyres on without asking me, I called them.
Turns out all the car needed was a puncture repair costing $ 26, the tyres were all fine apart from that.
So happy to go to a mechanics and and not walk out with a $ 700 bill like I normally do — stoked!

I kind of assumed that Kmart Tyre and Auto would be cheaper than some other tyre places, I am not sure why I thought this, perhaps because Kmart is quite a cheap store. Either way I was wrong, it was more expensive here than a few of the other tyre places on Winton Rd in Joondalup.
Maybe call around for prices before you settle for Kmart.
