The Joondalup branch of Timezone is very child-friendly. In fact, it is too child-friendly — most of their games are for the youngins. Which is great for parents who are wanting to entertain their child while waiting for a movie to start, or to give them a break from wandering the shopping centre. For everyone else, there is a limited range of games, which makes Timezone not worth the visit. There’s a driving game, a few scattered shooters and the arcade version of Guitar Hero. Unless you don’t mind hitting crocodiles with a padded mallet, perhaps it’s more worthwhile to visit JB Hi Fi and play games on their demonstration iPads.

When I was a kid(yes I am getting old) Timezone was the coolest place to hang out. Games were cheap and my parents would happily give me a handful of coins and send me off to spend hours and hours playing the games and collecting tickets for prizes. The world has changed a lot since then, but Timezone hasn’t, other than exorbitant prices. The place is old school arcade games and skill testers. It is cheaper and probably more fun to stay at home and play with your playstation, xbox, wii or other computer systems then hang out at this place.
