Years ago this place was much better. They had great coffee and great food at reasonable prices. Now they are very expensive and the quality has slipped. I used to spend $ 70 p/wk just on coffee but now I’m rarely here and when I do catch up with people I spend the more to get an extra shot of coffee. One thing i absolutely love is their apricot cheese cake it’s da bomb people you have to try it. If you don’t like to be around smokers you might struggle to get a table without a smoker sitting next to you.

If you enjoy smoking this is the place to be, however if your a non-smoker and like to sit outside then you’ll be reaching for your phone to write a letter to the local MP. Why a 2 star rating? Location is great and they are one of very few cafes to use loose tea, and I enjoy a good tea.

This is a great place to come for coffee after dining out on Gouger Street — it seems to always be open … and it seems to always be busy! Saying that, there is a lot of seating inside. Cibo have won me over with their long blacks … it’s so hard to find a café that does a good long black! And they got extra marks from me today when they offered to double-cup my long black to avoid burning my fingers ;) Yummy sweets here too, of course — my caramel macaroon today was delicious!

I’m not a coffee drinker(I know shock horror), but this is the best Cibo’s for atmosphere and a well-timed gelati(usually after a delicious Chinatown meal). It’s always busy, but seems to also keep a nice ebb and flow of clientele so it never feels stifling. It also attracts a nice mix of international patrons. All the usual Cibo options are here and there’s also a particularly good alfresco area for nice weather days. In a nutshell — my Cibo’s pick!
