Buddha, ladies and gentlemen, was a man of… bare necessities. His bare, however, it seems, is a place of base necessities.
Yes, the letter-​swap there was delightfully clever, but I mean what I say. I don’t see the reason in the name. Maybe it’s a contrast. Maybe it takes Buddha’s obesity and plays on the theme of indulgence.
This place is very indulgent. As much as any location can be ‘indulgent’. It’s the people who seem to attend Buddha’s Bar who are indulgent. I saw some interesting things on the dance floor. Nothing to the extant of ‘The Woolshed’, of course, but dancers were definitely very liberal with their proximity to other dancers.
And they mix a mean (but expensive) cocktail.

The last time I was here, it was for one of my friend’s birthday party. I remember hours of karaōke, dancing, drinking, partying and bumpin’ and grindin’ (ooh yea!), and some sexy women. It can get easily packed quite quickly on their small dance floor.
I didn’t even expect anything to happen tonight before I came in. I thought, «Here we go. Another typical nightclub with crap music.» Then within a few minutes of entering the dancefloror, all my best friends around me were having fun drinking and joking, and one thing led to another.
If you have ever seen Nelly Furtado’s ‘Promiscuous Girl’ music video, the dancing ended up like that. Please don’t get me wrong, I never did anything. It was those girls that started on me first, I swear. I did enjoy the R&B and rap music played by the DJ. I did wish they had a larger more open dance floor.
This spot is definitely a good place for groups of your closest friends.
Yep, you will get pissed and grind the night away in a bar where no one really cares what you’re doing. I’m not promising you anything, it just really depends who you know, who you came in with, and who you find!
The bar itself is nothing special, but caution: some chicks get real drunk up in here. Including my friends. But by the end of the night, I wasn’t complaining one… little…bit ;)
