I was told they beat internet pricing on Quest bars, so obviously I put it to the test. The closest price I could find was about 2 – 3 dollars higher per box online. With such good prices and knowledgeable staff they’ve got my business for the foreseeable future.

I have a hard time taking pills, went in to see if Max muscle walnut creek had any liquid vitamins. When I walked in, the girls at the counter were super sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. I walked out with their vit-​acell, the prices are fantastically affordable! and the product is very tasty with no yucky aftertaste! Would highly recommend this place just for the thorough info ! Max Muscle Walnut Creek is the best it’s the ONLY place I go to. Always stocked with all the goodies (supplements) the owner Kenny is super awesome very helpful, friendly, full of information he always answers any of my questions. I’ve been getting my products from MM for 2yrs now. The prices are the best in the area, everyone that works there and Kenny the owner are always very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend anyone to go there! Plus… there spray tans are awesome too!

Went in today and bought two boxes of Quest Bars for a good deal of $ 21.50 each wow! Love these protein bars. Lady at the cashier around 1−2pm was really helpful. Thanks. Will come back again to reload of my protein bars.

Really disappointed by the way they treat their customers at this location. I’ve been a maxmuscle customer for years, shopping at different locations.
When I bought some supplements at this location 2 years ago, the cashier asked me to sign up for the their mailing list for monthly specials. Usually I don’t share my email address due to the high amount of spam, but I did.
Came in 6 months ago for one of the specials they emailed me and the cashier charged me full price. When I mentioned the special offer, he said, «what special offer?» I told him I received their email for the Walnut Creek special, he asked me to see it so I showed him my email. All of a sudden he remembered the special and applied the discount?!?
Today, I went in for the May special on Emerge and the cashier charges me full price? I told her it was on sale and she states, «what sale?» Told her the one I received an email about, the monthly special. She asks me what email? I told her the monthly special. She then asks me to show her the email?!? After she sees my email, she remembered the exact discount without any questions.
I find it ironic that I had the same experience with two different cashiers, several months apart.
If you don’t want to sell a product at a discounted price, then don’t email your customers about it. The owner/​manager at this location is running an unprofessional and amateur business. Go to a different location or online if you want maxmuscle products.

My first visit to the store was no good. I came in the get a super thermogenic. The lady was not helpful. She was talking to her coworker and did not have time to talk to me about what I was looking for. I was disappointed

I first went into Max Muscle in Walnut Creek on January 17, 2015. My trainer suggested that I go to San Mateo or San Francisco. Walnut Creek is closer to me, so of course I went there. When I walked in Elisa (I have the name on the receipt) immediately greeted me. She asked me if I needed help and I thanked her and told her I had my shopping list and set about it on my way. After walking back and forth I told her that I lied and that I needed some help. She was more than willing to help me. She helped me get everything I needed on my list and gave me a shaker cup. The only bad thing I can say is I forgot to double check on product she gave me, right product, wrong flavor (more about that soon).
I recently returned on 24 January 2015, and Elisa was not there. I should have known that was going to be a bad start. Yes, I know she is entitled to time off however it seemed as though a dark shadow walked from the back (a tad bit dramatic but this is how the situation turned out). The counter person was not as friendly and she did ask if she could help. I informed her I was there to return some things. She asked if I had a receipt, I told her that I did. She then asked if any of the products were opened. It wasn’t that she asked (ok maybe it was, before I even got them out of my bag, but also in the way she asked). I felt as if she was already accusing me of opening stuff and bringing it back. She said do you mind if I ask why? It wasn’t that she asked, it was how she asked. And I told her my husband had purchased similar products for me on base. I should have told her yes I mind, I was being nicer than I should have been.
She tried to return the products but couldn’t get the return to work properly. I also told her my dissatisfaction with the BCAA (it was watermelon flavored, I hate the fruit so I hate the flavor). She was going to make me leave and then return when manager was available to help me. She wrote down my name and number and the products I wanted to return. Not one mention of my options with the Southern Watermelon flavored BCAA.
I went back to the car and told my husband what just happened. He went in and had the girl call the manager and figure out how to do the return. He was not happy that he was going to have to come back and get a refund. He went inside and moments later he came back with my refund. He had the girl call the manager and learn how to process the refund. She learned something new that day. Way to go husband for helping someone learn something new. She did tell him that I could bring the product back and it is at the manager’s discretion. Hmmmm I don’t trust it.
As it stands, I am stuck with a product that not only tastes gross, it burns my throat. I got a replacement at GNC (I was trying to avoid going there). Needless to say it looks like I will make the trek to San Mateo or go the San Francisco store on my lunch break before I go back to the Walnut Creek location and there is someone behind the counter who is not as friendly as Elisa.

I’ve been to Max Muscle WC three times, so this is not based on one single visit. (Visits are about 2 months apart)
I follow MMWC on Instagram and always look forward to their great deals. They have competitive pricing which is good, but they lack in other areas. Store is clean and organized in different sections. Fairly easy to navigate around, but being in a crammed store with products everywhere leaves your eyes darting around.
So with that being said, I go up to the front desk (and this is every visit) hoping I could have some help finding a certain pre-​workout, or a suggestion in a isolate protein. I can wait up at the front counter for up to 10 minutes with no help, not even a ‘hello’. There are always staff behind the register, however it always seems like they are more interested in talking to each other than helping a customer find products…
One time I asked if they carried 60 serving in C4 in green apple and the lady rolled her eyes at me and pointed down an isle without leaving her spot at the front register to help guide me (and there were no other customers in store). I had to ask ‘where?’ so many times to annoy her enough to actually come help me.
Maybe it’s because I don’t look like I work out? I don’t know. But I wish they could help me find the supplements to help me achieve my fitness goals. I wish I didn’t have to feel uncomfortable asking for help. I will still go there once a while. Only because this is the closest Max Muscle to home.

This place is amazing! Great products and product selection, awesome prices, knowledgeable staff, and welcoming atmosphere. I am definitely a frequent shopper and come here when I need to replenish my supplement needs or just need a new product in my life :) Kenny is also coach to two of my closest friends so I don’t mind supporting the store and team! If you need a supplement refill or need help in picking out products that’s right for you and your lifestyle, I highly recommend coming here.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about their products. I rely on their guidance when it comes to choosing what supplements work best for me for what I am training for at the time. I highly recommend going there & inquiring about what supplements to take if you are not sure or if you are just starting out.
The also have a large variety of Questbar flavors. If you love them as much as I do, you can buy a box that beats the prices of other supplement stores in the area.

I walked in for the first time to this store. Bad customer service. There were 2 girls and 1 guy working the front counter. They were probably in their mid 20s to mid 30s. No one said hello or asked if I needed help. After browsing the store and not receiving customer service, I decided to walk out and not give them my business. I’ll be shopping elsewhere.

Such great customer service! Its small and clean so you don’t feel overwhelmed when you walk in! I met with Ellie at the counter where she greeted me and started helping right away. I told her what I was looking for and she instantly knew great options for me! The owner was present as well and together they gave me the BEST service ever! They even wrote a simple eating and supplement routine for me! I left with such a great small grouping of supplies I needed to get going on my summer work out! Thanks for the motivation and help! I recommend anyone from beginners to advanced performance to go to this location! They KNOW their stuff and they didn’t try to sell me EXTRAS!
