I’m contacting Dave’s Handyman Service because Dave did several
projects for my business several years ago and he was a pleasure to work
with and got some tough jobs done efficiently. From the most difficult
to the utterly ridiculous small task, he was great. I have made a few appointments with Thor, but I have broken them because I wasn’t ready.
I’m going to call again soon.

No Show to the appointment after sending text and email reminders. Tried communicating several times he picked up the call once and denied that he was supposed to show up on that day and said that will call right back. Has not been picking my calls ever since. Tried calling at least 4 – 5 times and left voice and text messages. I wasted a lot of time dealing with this person. Lesson learnt. Should have looked at other reviews at Unilocal.
You cannot trust this person even though he says that he can fix anything. Stay Away!

I needed help gutting an apartment of the leftover items from a move. Thor and his helper did
this fast, efficiently, reasonably. They took loads to Goodwill, the Electronic Recycling Center,
and the dump. WOW! I could never have done this myself… Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I used Dave’s handyman service today on something that wasn’t huge but was very important to me. I just moved to a new place and needed someone to remove the old programmable thermostat and put in the new one I bought. Dave was here on time, did the job very professionally and efficiently. I would definitely use him again and would definitely recommend him to other people.

I needed help with moving a few things from my old apartment to the new one. Thor and his team did a fantastic job. They arrived on time, understood clearly what work needed to be completed, had all the right tools, and did a great job. They moved and assembled my king bed and mattress, large furniture pieces, and some artwork. I highly recommend Dave’s Handyman Service and ask for Thor when you call. Affordable and great service!

Never returns calls, and you’d be lucky to get in touch with him at all. The first time I called, I was warmly greeted and asked what kind of work was needed. I explained that I needed a crawl space access created sometime in two weeks so we could have our home treated for termites. His quote was reasonable, and he offered to call me to come and do the work in the next four days. So he asked me to text him my job request and phone number and he’d get back to me. 5 days later I never heard back. I tried calling him, but his voicemail was full. I sent him a text inquiring as to when he planned to come by. I ended up hiring someone else to complete the work a week later. He texted me back the day after the work was done by the other company.

This guy? He doesn’t call you back. His mailbox is usually full. You stay home from work? He is a No Show. My guess is if he gets to you he is good. My vote? Life is too short. My advice? Move on.

I recently moved into a new home in Moraga. Being a lifetime North Bay/​SF/​Marinite, I knew of no one in the area to call for help, one stormy day, when I discovered streams of water pouring in from a window frame. After calling around to several handymen in the area, people either didn’t service Moraga or were too busy to help me. Thor was quite responsive and came within a couple of hours to help me. He was kind, thorough and knowledgable. I will definitely be utilizing him for other jobs!

Our side door was not closing correctly due to shifting clay soil, settling older house… Thor came out and planed the bottom of the door, moved the strike plates and was gone in less than an hour. Efficient, friendly and reasonable prices — what more can you ask?

Thor from Dave’s Handyman Services helped me with a project when no other handyman was willing/​able to do it. My dishwasher had to be moved out of under the kitchen countertop in order to be fixed or replaced and all the other people I talked to said I need to cut out a piece of hardwood in order for the dishwasher to come out (since the hardwood floor was installed after the dishwasher was). However, Thor was able to lower the back legs of the dishwasher and remove it from under the countertop. He really saved me money and heartache and he was so nice over the phone and in person.

We are senior citizens looking for an honest, dependable, handyman
who could help us with maintenance and repairs. Thor was not able to show up on time for appointments and was unable to finish
repairs .He promised to return to complete tasks that were not finished but never came back .He cashed our check even though work was not completed and now refuses to return our phone calls. He definitely is not the honest, dependable worker we were looking for and strongly advise that other people avoid him.

I hired Dave’s Handyman Service to assemble my daughters outdoor playhouse. It was purchased from costco, and the reviews said the assembly was complicated, but it was beyond complicated. It had many many parts and details and needed a pro. Thor from Dave’s Handyman did an amazing job, and was very patient with my daughter as she hovered over him the entire time. He did great work, highly skilled and will absolutely be calling on him for future projects, repairs, etc.
