Best experience I’ve ever had at an auto mechanic. Trustworthy, reasonable prices, exceptional service. Had to take the vehicle back in after service for what ended up being, in reality, a new problem, but didn’t get charged for parts or labor because he felt like he had «missed it the first time.» Please give Josh your business! He deserves it.

These folks are fantastic. Not only did they save me about a thousand bucks (the Toyota dealership gave me a ridiculous quote), they’re efficient and extremely kind people here. They treat you as if you’re a friend. Honest and reasonably priced. Wish I’d gone to them before bothering with the dealership!

Brought in a VW 2011 Jetta. They were able to get the job done for $ 200 less than the dealership. Josh, Zach, and Denise are all great. They make sure that you leave feeling like you have been taken care of. Thanks Guys! I have been here many times and am never disappointed by the service I receive.

I got really lucky and found this place as soon as I moved to Tacoma. Josh is one of the most reasonable and honest mechanics I have taken my cars to. You don’t have to worry about a pushy mechanic, they are really good at telling you exactly what is wrong with your car and giving you options on parts. I would recommend calling ahead to make sure they have time in their schedule but I don’t mind because that just means they have many loyal customers. Glad I could find a reliable and honest mechanic!

I had vibrations going on in my car when I stopped before calling this shop, and since I work Tuesday-​Saturday they ended up getting me in on a Monday. They replaced my rotors and brakes on the front axle, I had a feeling it was time to at least replace the pads and I knew the front rotors had been resurfaced 12,000 miles beforehand. It took about five hours for the shop to get the work done, and they even resurfaced the leather on my steering wheel that was peeling away. They inspected a couple other parts of my car that I asked about. In the meantime, the vibrations have gone down for the most part and it has been a few hundred miles; the pads are probably still breaking in but I am keeping an eye on it. In the meantime, their waiting room is awesome and you get TV and coffee pots ready while you are waiting. Their facility is right off of Pacific Highway South to the north a little past Southend Auto Repair on the other side of the street. They are a NAPA certified auto center, so you get the 2 year/24,000 mile nationwide warranty on all their work. Make sure to be able to speak to Josh, he’ll explain everything and he has good goals of what he wants to do in later life; ask him.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had at an auto mechanic. Here’s why:
I took my truck to a different repair shop a while back and was charged a lot of money only to find out that the problem wasn’t fixed. My car continued to overheat. Today, i called up King’s Autoworks and they took my car in immediately. The mechanic immediately was able to diagnose my truck’s problem. He said it would be about a 3.5 hour job and he was exactly right. They told me the price up-​front ahead of time and it was fair.
I didn’t have a way to get home so the nice woman working the front desk told me she had an errand to run nearby my house and would gladly drop me off on her way. I was really appreciative of their excellent customer service but the service did not end there. They offered to give me a ride back to the shop when it was ready, but i declined and took the bus. Still, very impressed!
When i got there, the mechanic showed me exactly what he had done and showed me my previous damaged parts that he replaced. He verified that everything worked perfectly and tested the truck before handing me the keys. My truck was cleaner than I had left it and a clean plastic floormat had been placed on the driver’s side floor. Very professional. At this point I was even more impressed with the already great service.
Lastly, the mechanic informed me that he noticed the huge dent in my truck (from when i hit a pole a long time ago in a parking garage). He informed me that he had used an iron bar and flattened out the dent at no cost. My truck now looks significantly better than it did when i took it in.
What you, the reader, need to realize is that this level of care for the work that you do is extremely rare. Obviously, don’t expect them to offer every customer a ride or to fix your dents at no cost. That’s not a reasonable expectation as they’re running a business. What King’s autoworks showed me today though is that they take every job personally and genuinely want the customer to have a positive experience and all of their vehicle problems fixed. You can expect great service, fair up-​front pricing, and timely, expert-​quality work.
They’ve earned all of my future business. Their Unilocal rating is all 5 stars for a reason.

I needed a new mechanic for our BMW so I checked Unilocal and found King’s to have many 5 star ratings and most of them raved about Josh. We had an intermittent problem with the door locks that BMW charged us hundreds of dollars to repair but the problem did not improve. Josh was able to determine the cause of the problem quickly and repair it. We also had an intermittent headlight problem that they fixed. We needed brakes, bearings and an oil change. The bill wasn’t small (after all it’s a BMW) but it was fair and we left with the confidence that the work was done well. Josh also repaired a handful of other problems with the car for FREE like replacing the cooling temp sensor, rotating the tires, repairing the grill installation and securing a loose wire. Good foreign auto repair shops are hard to find so I recommend them highly. They also work on domestic cars/​trucks and diesel engines. I don’t look forward to my next auto repair challenge, but I know where I will go when it happens.

All I can say is Josh is the man. My car was completely burnt out. Engine was toast and everything including the radiator + plugs had to be replaced. Josh and his team were friendly and gave an honest price. He explained to me exactly what needed to be fixed and the costs for the repair. He was patient and made the experience great.
He called me back to see if everything was alright and if the car was running smoothly. I had to take the car back for some minor changes, but throughout the process, him and his team never gave me a hard time. I appreciate your work Josh. It was nice talking to ya!

I am so thankful to have found this place. I will never take my car anywhere else. After being told my A/​C system was broken I took my car here to have it checked. Josh found that they had overfilled my freon and drained it to the appropriate level and let me leave without charge. Not only that but all of the employees were great with my 2 very excited children (they love mechanics) and gave me amazing customer service. I highly recommend them.

After finding kings autoworks, I will never take my car anywhere else!
My car had broken down on me multiple times in the last few months with basically the same problem. I have spent over $ 2000 at another shop trying to fix the problem. When it broke down this time, they quoted me $ 400 to fix it again. Ridiculous!
So I called around to get other quotes and kings not only gave me the lowest quote (160) he was the only one to ask me questions about what happened instead of just taking the other shops word.
Instead of spending over $ 400 and waiting a week to get my car back, I spent about $ 200 (I had him fix some other issues too) and had my car back 2 hours later.
I’m never going anywhere else!

Josh was great! I really appreciated his honesty and affordability. It is so hard to find a mechanic that you take at their word and then be affordable also. I needed quite a bit of work (timing belt, motor mount, funny noise, etc.) and he expertly diagnosed the funny noise, gave me a good price and completed it within the allotted timeframe. I will definitely be going back, though hopefully not too soon because that would mean there is something wrong with my vehicle, yikes! (: In all seriousness though, I would totally recommend them!

We needed help with our van. Kings team was fast and inexpensive. Months later when the transmission was shot, we asked them to review if the cost of replacing it was worth the cost or buy a new vehicle. They told us to buy a new vehicle… despite the opportunity to charge us a lot of money to replace the transmission. Appreciated their honesty.

I needed work done on a used car I bought for my kids and did a fair amount of research in choosing Kings. After receiving estimates from several garages in Tacoma Kings was the most economical choice.
I was sceptical because my experience has taught me that you usually get what you pay for and I didn’t want to get sub par work for my kids car.
But, after speaking with Josh about his quote and he and his team’s experience within the automotive industry I was convinced to have my car repaired here.
As I expected, I received that dreaded call telling me that there was more wrong with my car than expected, and I should consider doing some additional repairs.
The bottom line here Is that Josh charged me less than he quoted and even did some additional work for me for free! Unheard of! I recommend Josh and his crew for your automotive needs. Without question.

Mercedes dealership bid my repair work at $ 2500 more than Josh. Not only this but the service was every bit as friendly and helpful as I’ve ever received at the dealership. They shop might not be as fancy as Mercedes dealership but I’ll take my hard earned dollar over a pretty shop any day. I really appreciated the savings and the good work done here.

Honest mechanics are rare to find these days, but Josh at Kings Autoworks is a gem! He does great work and is always fair with pricing. He really is invested in taking care of his customers. I’ve taken my car there several times and have always been impressed. He consistently goes above and beyond to make sure my car is running well and I am taken care of. I’ve moved since I first found them, but I still make the drive to take my car to his shop because they are just that good. Two huge thumbs up!

I live in north Seattle and this is the only auto shop I trust! I take my vw beetle here and they are able to fix everything I need that others have told me only the dealership can fix. Very honest and always a great price! And they are a great group of guys to do business with.
