I charge $ 60.00 plus tax for my service call/​diagnosis fee, this fee includes my travel time to your location and the time to diagnose your vehicle, «no hidden cost». Once your vehicle is diagnosed I will provide you with a written estimate of repairs for parts, labor, and sales tax. After receiving authorization I will travel and retrieve your parts, next I will return to repair your vehicle on the spot. I «do not» charge for travel time while retrieving your parts. All work is guaranteed!

Established in 1989.

My name is Dave and I work full time as a Mobile Mechanic. I currently service the greater Seattle/​Bellevue/​Tacoma area and their surrounding cities. I have personally diagnosed over 20,000 vehicles in the field and have performed every type of repair possible from general maintenance to complete engine rebuilds. I am a dependable and honest mechanic that uses quality parts and guarantees all my repairs. Working in the field for the past 25 years has given me the knowledge and experience needed to provide a quality service that will help you save time, money, and aggravation.

My first paid job working on vehicles was at Gene’s Engine Haus in 1978, we specialized in VW Bug engine rebuilds, I was 14 years old at this time. $ 125.00 a week was good money back then.

I worked at two gas stations while attending Renton Vocational Technical Institute, first at Rebel Jackson’s Exxon, second at Dick’s 76 station.

After graduating RVTI in 1982 I worked as the lead mechanic at Rent A Dent through 1985.

My last job was at Quik Stop, I was the lead mechanic/​manager through 1988.

I became a entrepreneur at 23 yo in 1989 with this company, I have worked as a mobile mechanic since that time.

From 1989 through 2004 I owned a repair shop, Super Mechanics Inc in Seatac.

I very much enjoy working alone at this time in my life, low stress, everyone is happy!

Tried and failed several times to get his attention. It goes something like this: I’ll call and leave a message. He’ll call me back around 24 hours later and tell me he’s busy. I tell him I’m ok with waiting and he says he’ll add me to his list. Tells me to expect a call sometime that weekend Saturday or Sunday night, as that is when he plans out his schedule for the following week.
I go out of my way to be around a phone but get no return call.
I’m a patient person so I’ve repeated this three times now and I have to say it’s been extremely irritating. I understand this individual is busy but at this point he’s just wasting my time. I first contacted him 7 – 8 weeks ago– even if he is busy shouldn’t I have made it to the top of his list by now?

So this is my first review ever on Unilocal.First off, Dave is AMAZING. I previously went to Todd, who is the owner of A+ mobile MechaniC. (Hence he stole Dave’s name by not using an S). Dave is very honest and works fast. I called him on Thursday, and he scheduled me in quickly. Do not listen to the bad reviews about him not calling back, or doing a poor job. Since there are two mobile mechanics with the same name, people are getting confused. This will now be my new go to mobile mechanic. Thanks Dave!

Dave is amazing. My Kia wouldn’t start, and he fit me into his busy schedule asap. When he showed up, he had the car diagnosed in under ten minutes. On top of that, he drove all the way to Auburn and back, so I would not be late for work, and had my car running again. I appreciate his level of concern and professionalism, and he was very honest and up front. I will call him with all my car repairs from now on, because he really went above and beyond.

Dave is Awesome! Don’t believe the Bad reviews. If you look closely, the only negative things that are said about Dave is that he had a hard time getting back to clients. Think about it. The guy does such good work, and is in such high demand, that he’s backed up! But when he does come to work on your car (and this is supported by every other review,) he does an Awesome job!
My car has a problem that even this 25+ year veteran has never seen. He’s already been out 3 times, spent $ 500 on a part, which we might not even need, and he’s not even going to charge me for it, and is still helping me with my vehicle, by helping me get it to his buddies shop, where he can work on it out of the rain, to try and solve my completely unique, hard to solve problem.
It takes a lot for me to even write a review, let a lone a 5 star review. But Dave is knowledgeable, has called me on time, every time he said that he would, and I’m giving him 5 Stars, before my car has even been fixed! As someone who knows a good amount about cars, he has EVERYTHING a mechanic needs to do a first class job, and the Last thing he said before he left today was «I’m not going to Abandon you! I will get your car fixed, for as little as possible. I promise, I will get your car running!» That’s dedication, and great service. Call Dave, don’t text or E-​mail him, just call him, and he’ll do everything he can to work with you!

It looks like people like this mechanic and I was excited to try him out but I called on a Saturday (voicemail states he will return your call in a few minutes and works 7 days a week 8 – 8) and still no return phone call all weekend or Monday. So, we took it into the shop instead.

Worked on an old truck (I mean ollldddd) and was honest when he let me know she needs to be put out to pasture but set a few settings more optimal for it to run until we decide on next step. Didn’t feel at all ripped off and I loved his ‘to the point’ way about him. He was friendly and didn’t make me feel like he was anything but honest. We will use him again and again (just hope not too much — I hate car trouble!) and refer him to our friends who seem to not find that ‘one’ great mechanic.

Dave came out to our house to fix my roommate’s car, he was on time for the diagnostic and early for the repair, and was very friendly and understanding about communicating with both the owner of the vehicle and the person who could be home during the day to hand over the keys and payment. He did a quick diagnostic and came back the next day with parts for the repair. Overall a very timely service, reasonable rates, and the convenience of not having to coordinate shop drop off when we work very different schedules was amazing.

I was desperate for a mobile mechanic and had to leave a voicemail three times in a week to get a response. He said he had no idea what his schedule was at the time and promised to call me back at a particular time and confirmed he had the right number. Never called back. This guy’s etiquette isn’t the best on the phone either. So while I can’t review his actual work, it sounds like he’s not very reliable. He also told me he never does diagnostics past the afternoons on weekdays, so good luck trying to find a time to get him to come.

Dave is a fine and trustworthy mechanic. He once lectured me on his economic theories for 45 minutes, though. Unprompted. So, yes, he’s definitely reliable when it comes to repairs and I used to use him about once a year. I’ve since found a mechanic who’s more consistent, though.

He did finally get back to me after two weeks with an email telling me he was too busy to fix my van, he also gave me a few pointers to fix it myself.
Still not happy about the length of time it took for him to tell me he was too busy, but he was nice and helpful when he did finally get back to me.

My car wasn’t starting last month. I was worried because let’s be honest, you can get screwed over pretty badly by a mechanic. After doing a quick search on Unilocal,I stumbled upon Dave’s business and thank God I did.
1st off, he comes to you which really helps on towing expenses. 2nd, he’s a really nice guy. Very helpful and explained everything to me that he was doing. In the end, my car didn’t really need more than a jump start but it had been acting funny so Dave could of told me that I needed something fixed but he gave me the honest truth which I really appreciated.
If I have any other problems with my car, I know the 1st person to call. Trust me, you should too.

Sorely overdue review. Long story short, my battery died. The day after New Years. Awesome start to the new year. Couldn’t find a single mobile mechanic that seemed to have decent reviews on the interwebs except Dave. He found time for me a few hours after I called and got me a temp fix to get me off the Hill and agreed to meet me the very next day to take a closer look.
Next morning arrives and Dave gives me a ring to tell me that he’s outside of my office in Renton for my scheduled appointment. Turns out, my battery cables were horrifically corroded and needed to be replaced ASAP. Dave somehow found all the obscure parts (drove ALL over the Seattle metro area to get them for me) and cleaned the battery bay, replaced my battery, cables, and some crazy weird adapter that only Honda dealers carry, and there was only one left in ONE shop in the all the dealers in the area he called.
Oh and he did all of this in one business day, in the freezing cold, while my car was still in my office parking lot as I was happily in my warm office. Total costs for 2 diagnostics, parts (note he replaced my battery with a high end exide one), and labor? ~$ 450.
Cheap prices? No. Reasonable prices? Yes. Quality work? Yes.
I’d like to mention again that Dave got this done in under a business day while I was at work so that I wouldn’t have to take any more time off work and got me a temp fix before that which cost less than a tow to a shop, where it would have sat for god knows how long. I could’ve been out 3 – 4 days from work, so he saved me a boat-​load of PTO. Also, he REFUSED the tip I tried to give me, because «I’m my own employer so I don’t think it’s fair to take tips».
So here I am, writing the best review I can because this man saved me like $ 1000 in PTO and got my baby fixed and running in less than 6 hours and then refused to take an extra tip because he thought it wasn’t fair. If your car has stranded you and you want a fair price with quality work call Dave. Seriously.

I’ve used this company twice now. The first time was to change spark plugs and distributer cap. Everything went well, and I was happy with the outcome.
The second time, however, solidified our working relationship. He came out with the assumption that we would need to replace the fuel pump. (Approx. $ 800). However, when he looked at the car, he realized that the pump was fine. He gave me a $ 40 dollar solution and my car worked great again!
Not only has he always fixed my car well, and has always told me that I should call if I have any problems with his repairs but has proven himself to be an honest mechanic that values my continued business more than a quick buck.
Dave is now «my mechanic», and I gladly suggest him to all my friends and family!
