I would highly recommend Northshore Automotive! They got my car in quickly and answered all of my questions! They even gave me a ride home so I didn’t have to wait at the shop all day while my car was being fixed! Such a nice and friendly staff!

Not only does this place have lousy service but they are very condensing and rude. My son was driving an older truck, that broke down. I had a lot of cash and was willing to put the money out just to get the truck fixed. The guy I’d talked to obviously didn’t feel the truck was worth working on and gave me creepy looks but went ahead and wrote up the work order. My husband told me to mention to check the rubber pipes as they probably needed to be replaced due to the age of the truck.
A few days later they called and said the truck was ready. I was charged for a brake job and a few other incidentals. On the way home the truck broke down again with the same symptoms, but we were able to get it home. My husband looked and saw that indeed the rubber pipe was split and he went ahead and replaced it with no problems. Plus my husband said the truck didn’t need new brakes at all.
I didn’t bother to call them back but won’t ever do business with them again.

I’ve been taking my car here for years. I’ve spent what I consider to be a good deal of money here over time and felt like I was getting a decent deal and nice folksy service from Art. My ex is a mechanic but lives out of the area so he can’t do my repairs. He always reviewed the proposed work and provided the parts for install at cost. He occasionally felt the labor was a little high and the part estimates were always premium-​priced but that didn’t matter since I provided the parts.
My car overheated Christmas Eve and I paid to have it towed to Northshore. I described the issue to my ex and he diagnosed it and got me the part then delivered them to me as a gift. I got a call mid morning on the 26^th from Art at Northshore that the car was fixed. They didn’t call me to have me approve the repair or parts first. Turns out the parts were four times the retail my ex would charge the public. I asked Art about the price and told him I’d already had the parts. He explained that his parts were dealer vs After-​Market. I told him I should’ve been advised first. He abruptly told me to return the car and they’d uninstall the parts and install mine. I suggested he could simply return my new ones. I took my car back in and when I returned to pick up the car he told me that I would not be allowed to provide my own parts anymore because «the boss said there wasn’t enough money in it». I suggested that he was severing our business relationship and he agreed.
I left feeling angry and insulted that Art was mad at me for his mistake and didn’t feel that my labor business or referrals to other customers was worth anything. I have recommended Northshore to coworkers many times. I will gladly spread the word that they only want business they feel is «worth it» to their bottom line.
I stopped at the Grocery store going home and mentioned that I’d just picked up my car for Northshore with no further commentary. My usual clerk said she’d gone there. I asked how her experience was; she hesitated then told me that they completed the work before getting her approval. I chimed in that the same thing had happened to me. She said that another co-​worker had also felt overcharged. I don’t know about that but definitely felt insulted and unappreciated as a long-​time customer.
I may be loyal to a fault but I will never go back or refer them to others – that’s a promise!

These guys are great. My husband had one of those phantom problems with his Chevy Z71. These guys stuck with it until was was totally fixed. They called the Chevy dealer to discuss the problem and they told Northshore not to have my husband bring his truck to the dealership if they couldn’t fix it because they had 4 others that they didn’t know what to do with. So, the owner of Northshore took in upon himself to get the truck fixed. He stood behind the work and made everything right. I will trust Northshore with ALL of our automotive repairs. This is one garage that will never take advantage of anyone. You can feel safe your car or truck will be fixed properly at this garage.
