History

Established in 1991.

D & S Tow, Inc., was established in July of 1991. We started with a used slide bed tow truck to help service our then wrecking yard, however we quickly grew into a fleet of 19 to service the Reno/​Sparks and Carson City area. We have been in the automotive industry for over 30 years and have been on several side of the counter. In the past, we had an auto body shop, a wrecking yard, a salvage pool, an auction company and a used auto dealership. With that experience, we have found that ultimately you have one thing to sell, your service! We have seen many changes to our industry over the years; however, one thing will always remain the same here at D & S Tow, Inc. .. . OUR SERVICE!

Anyone can drive a tow truck, however not everyone can extend our motto for business, therefore we would like to extend an old fashion way of business, with a smile and a handshake!

Effective November 2013, D & S Tow is now your Primary AAA service provider in the Carson City territory! Go AAA!

I am the ‘S’ of D & S Tow with a long history in the automotive industry. The ‘D’ and ‘S’ started this company and several ‘sister’ companies dating back to 1986 and have built a family and service company to be proud of.

A Reno native since the age of 9, I love where I live and work and I take great pride in providing a company for my staff and team members to contribute to and gain support from.

Although it is just the ‘S’ now, the memory and connection to the ‘D’ will forever be in our hearts!

The staff was very professional, polite, understanding, really helpful, with appropriate and welcome humor thrown in. The few days of interacting with the company was a positive experience. I needed my car towed to a shop because my transmission went out. The dispatcher was very courteous and thorough. D & S sent a driver over within 20 minutes and towed it right over. The driver was very professional and friendly. I would recommend this tow company to everyone!!!

On the 13th of February me and my fiancé were on our way to Las Vegas when our transmission went out in Fallon. We called our insurance company and they called D & S Tow out of Sparks to tow our car. He showed up and was super professional and made sure we were comfortable. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

If I could put –10 I would our bearing went out on our coffee shop and we called this company this tow truck driver would not come get us he said to the office lady «I don’t want this on my flat bed» to one business owner to the next bad move leaving us stranded not a way to run a business. My advice do not use this company.

When you have a flat and you are on the side of the road and cars are zipping by you need service fast. D&S towing is a fast and friendly team and they were quick to pick up my vehicle and take it right to the repair place. A week later I have a dead vehicle and I knew who to call to get me moving. The staff is very professional and minimized my pain. Thank you D&S Tow!

I had the unfortunate opportunity to do business with these folks at their Carson City office. I found the office ladies to be nasty and rude. I have AAA and because I had some custom work on my car they refused to tow it. Note I spoke with AAA and they had no problems with towing my car. I have heard that D & S was about to close their Carson office just prior to getting the AAA contact. Business was bad and now I know why. Many good towing companies in the area. Take my advice and stay away from this one.

I called D&S Tow late at night, Max was prompt picked up my vehicle and got us home. He was very professional and stayed with me answering any questions I had. I will not use another tow company in town. Mallory answered the phone and was sweet and helpful as well.

So we have several fleet vans and trucks 12 years and older. D & S Tow has always provided good response time and friendly drivers. The last thing you ever want to do is call a tow company because usually the tow cost is the least of your worries. Susan the owner and her group have made a tuff day a little more calm with their great service. Thanks D & S.

I used to use AAA for my towing and it got to be such a pain because they would only tow me a few miles and then I would have to pay for anything over that which usually happened. I decided to try a local company D&S Tow and was very happy with the results. One of my fleet vans broke down and they were quick and very polite. I was surprised how nice the driver was. This is the only tow company I use in Reno or Sparks.

Despite the crappy circumstances of being in an accident and totaling your car, I am so happy with the D&S service I received.
When I called, Kimberley helped me to great lengths. She was upfront, professional, and also personal with the charges and situation. She explained everything to me, and gave me different scenarios if I chose to keep my car in the lot. It was almost the weekend, so she communicated with her drivers very well to make sure there was no errors when I met the driver after hours.
The driver, Anthony, was great. Also professional, informative, and personable. From the moment he pulled up to meet us at the tow yard to the minute he left us and my poor car at pick and pull. He really made this whole unfortunate experience bearable. Pleasant, even!
If there are any negative reviews about this place it is probably because those people have negative attitudes all the time.

The towing business must be a tough one to get good reviews in. Think about it: Whatever the reason your car is being towed, you’re gonna be in a bad mood. Well whatever mood you are in, you’ll be in a better one if you call D&S tow. My car wouldn’t start on Saturday night after dinner, and on a friend’s recommendation I called D&S Tow.
First: they must have like 300 trucks all over the place just waiting to come rescue people. Seriously: they arrived 5 minutes after I called.
Second: The truck was new & clean. The driver looked, was dressed, acted (and smelled!) like a competent professional, not like an escapee from prison.
Third: They didn’t treat me like an idiot, and tried, without asking, to fix the car there and then.
