Flooring 101 – Simi Valley

Our experience with Flooring 101 was excellent and I can’t imagine how they could have done a better job. My wife and I bought a house in Simi Valley and decided to have the floors changed before we moved in.
We went into the store on L.A. Ave and met Cliff. He was wonderful, courteous and walked us through the entire process of selecting laminate wood floors for our house. He and Harry came to the house for measurements and then provided a detailed estimate that included removing carpeting and tile floors. They also included all new base boards in the house. Their estimate was fair and we contracted them to do the work.
The materials were delivered a week in advance of the scheduled installation date. Communication was constant and no questions went unanswered. On the scheduled installation date there was six installers waiting for me at the house and they jumped on the job. They did an entire house of removal of old and installation of new laminate wood flooring in one day. Plus the job turned out fantastic. We couldn’t be happier and we highly recommend this company to anybody. You can’t go wrong!

Out of four companies we were considering to do our new hardwood floors, we finally decided on Flooring 101, and we are so glad we did. They made it as easy and efficient as it could be. The whole job (around 1000 square feet) was completed in one day. The workmanship was really first rate, including all of the precise trimming work, moldings, etc. They handled all of our furniture moving without a scratch. Everything looks spectacular, and they truly led us through it amazingly quickly and easily. Great work!

We used used Flooring 101 through Costco for our new carpet. It was a FANTASTIC experience. Our Sales person Harry H. was so great and everything he promised us happened. He was professional, friendly and really made sure we got the best deal and the best carpet and the best padding for our budget! The installers were also great. They moved all our heavy furniture, put in our carpet and then put the furniture back where it was! Harry called after and checked to make sure everything was to our liking and that the installers did a good job. Our carpet is absolutely beautiful and the discounts provided working with Costco and Flooring 101 are great! I recommend this place to everyone needing flooring!

We used Flooring 101 through Costco to install laminate in our downstairs and carpet in the upstairs. It looks amazing and was very affordable. The salesperson, Harry, was outstanding. The wrong carpet was initially delivered and I called him; he immediately drove to my house, verified it was the wrong carpet and worked to get the issue resolved.
I highly recommend Harry and Flooring 101.

I don’t understand the good customer service reviews. If you work here and are an older white male for some reason you have a bad attitude. They made me sit around for 30 min to pick up a case of floor tiles I arranged to pick the night before. Not the worst place but definitely not the nicest bunch.

I cannot say enough good things about the people at 101 Flooring. Tony and his crew are friendly, competent, trustworthy and super knowledgeable which really helps in making decisions.
On time, excellent work, very reasonable cost, attention to detail, great follow through… I highly recommend this place and will definitely go to them again for any flooring projects that I may have in the future. I absolutely love my new floors!

This is in regard to the Simi store. Their customer service is really poor. When I walked in the rep helping me kept referring to me as «this guy». I finally told him I was «a customer» and asked him to stop referring me in the manner he was. I was placing an order that was being handled in the Oxnard store by Saul Munoz (awesome help there) and because I liked his service I wanted him to get the credit but I didn’t want to drive back to Oxnard.
Anyways Saul was great, told me to go to the Simi store and they could place the order there. They made the experience so bad! It took over an hour to place the order because the manager and sales rep kept trying to take credit for the sale. They even called Saul and gave him a hard time for the situation. If it wasn’t for Saul at the Oxnard store I wouldn’t of ever used this store!!!

Short and sweet.
We shopped all surrounding areas. We found a hard wood flooring we liked at another store. I called Flooring 101. Mike gathered my information regarding the flooring. Beat the price of the other store. Install was great too.
Mike is the man.
We will use Flooring 101 for our next flooring project.

I came to Flooring 101 for the first time last August. A helpful and knowledgable sales rep named Cliff showed me around the store and offered to come out and measure my home for square footage, even though I told him we were probably several months away from making the commitment to purchase our flooring. I was delightfully surprised at his willingness to take the time to do this and it was actually very useful to give us an idea of what costs we would be facing down the road. Several months later (and after some planned AND unplanned renovations) I was back to give Cliff the good news… we were ready to take the plunge! He came by our home again to measure (because of the renovations some things had changed) Cliff lent me several floor samples to keep in the house and make my final decision with. After some deliberation I found the perfect one! A unique grey-​stained engineered hardwood…(and at a price that was very competitive, even less $$ than some of their local competitors). I was very happy, even though the company they ordered the product from said the floor wouldn’t be available for several weeks.
OK, so fast forward several weeks… several weeks turn into several months of being strung along by this vendor, (not 101 Flooring’s fault) and before we knew it the material was not going to arrive in time for our renovation timeline. It was getting stressful and my husband and I had to make the tough decision to abandon our original choice :(! and pick out a new floor. Of course, there was nothing quite like the one we had originally picked, but Cliff and manager Tony were incredibly helpful in resolving our problem. Because of their relationship with the vendor and their willingness to cut out their profits to do right by us, they were able to get us a floor that would have otherwise been out of our budget to make us happy (once again!)
The new floor has not yet been installed, (I will update my post in a few weeks after it is!) but I wanted to share how blown away we were by the outstanding level of service we received. I don’t believe that there are a lot of companies that would go to this extent to put the customer first! Flooring 101 rocks! :)

Decent place. Salespeople are knowledgeable. Hamo, a salesman, was very helpful. He was willing to work with customers.
There are two things they could have done better:
1. I had a delivery order and they promised to call me as soon as they were ready to deliver. But eventually they forgot to call, seemingly because they forgot it was a delivery order.
2. I wish they had reminded me to order the trim pieces together with the laminate. Each order has a $ 75 freight charge, so ideally you should order all you need at once.
Overall a solid place. 4 stars.

I just called these guys with a couple of basic questions and the way they were answered, lost them a customer. Rude with attitude. Clearly didn’t need my business. I’ll find someone who does.

I had a great experience here, i dealt with Daniel and Halley and both were great and went above and beyond to solve our problem. They helped carpet the house and tile the downstairs. The were both very friendly and easy to work and very helpful.
The installation was great and quick and looked perfect!
