We hired Kristeen for her full-​service wedding planning package, and «full-​service» doesn’t even begin to describe it! Instead of just checking off items on a list, Kristeen likes to get a sense of your style to really make sure that your wedding is uniquely you. We really appreciated her straightforwardness because it saved us both time and frustration. She made us feel like we had a great advocate when it came to dealing with the venue, vendors, and other contractors involved. Her recommendations for vendors were excellent and her rolodex is a very valuable tool. On the day she did a great job of keeping everything running smoothly and keeping any hiccups (and stress) away from our view. The absolute best thing you can do for yourself when planning your wedding is to hire Kristeen. She is, simply put, amazing. She goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy while planning a world class event. I would not have been able to get married without her. The planning process was seamless, and on the day of the wedding, we were calm and relaxed because Kristeen and her team handled every detail beautifully. She designed my wedding, and coming from the most picky person I know, every detail exceeded my wildest expectations. As a floral designer for weddings, I have had the pleasure of working on several beautiful events with Kristeen. She is always so warm, polished and on top of every last detail! It is rare to find a wedding planner who not only can handle the many facets of and the stress associated with executing such an important event, but also one who can juggle it all while smiling and making all those around them feel totally calm and completely taken care of — Kristeen is a wonderful combination of both! Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying my mother in her toast at the reception thanked Kristeen for saving our relationship through the planning process. This is pretty telling of how important she was for us. Besides for communicating with all our vendors, and spearheading a lot of the décor and details, Kristeen played the role of middleman and diplomat between us and my parents. She answered all our and my mothers’ questions graciously and spent many afternoons on the phone and in email exchanges about the various details of our event, the big ones and the inconsequential nitty-​gritty.
I don’t think many mothers of the bride can honestly say that they credit the wedding planner in maintaining their relationship with their daughter!
Planning a wedding gets stressful – While your intention is simply to celebrate your love to your soon-​to-​be spouse in a beautiful environment that represents your relationship, surrounded by your closest friends and relatives; believe me, you will suddenly find yourself incredibly stressed about every decision, irritable and combative, spending hours at work on Pinterest or blog-​hopping. Everyone unleashes their crazy during times of emotional stress and you may find your wedding has turned into a battleground for deep seeded power struggles and festering family wounds. It doesn’t help that since you changed your status to engaged, Facebook and gmail marketing are constantly weighing in about your wedding band, your bridesmaid dresses, where you should get your wedding stationary, and where to go on your honeymoon. One parent is obsessing over appetizers, the other is disowning you over orange ties, and you are in full scale war with a bridesmaid-​zilla. It’s in this mess of stress and disfunction that Kristeen shines.
We hired Kristeen after we had already found our location when we panicked over the venue contract. We initially hired her for partial planning with an upgrade to have her handle all vendor communications but ultimately ended up upgrading again to full planning with her as we got more overwhelmed and closer to the wedding.
Our wedding honestly would not have happened without her – she was worth every penny – she did all the graphic design for menus, programs, escort cards etc. and coordinated all the vendors and as I mentioned did interference with my family. :P She also helped plan our rehearsal dinner which was well beyond her agreed upon services. Kristeen is calm and collected when she needs to be, but energetic and fun to be around when the task calls for it. Kristeen came to every dress fitting with me because my family is on the east coast and I just felt more secure completely re-​tailoring the size and style of my dress with her there to give input. She offered support through the entire process. She was an excellent listener and very attentive to the things that were important to us – for example using recycled eco-​friendly materials whenever possible. She never pressured us to get more or spend more than we intended on décor or lighting or any of our vendors and more often negotiated deals we never would have been able to on our own.
You will not regret hiring Kristeen. My only regret is that when your wedding is over you feel like you gained a spouse but lost your temporary best friend.
Kristeen is so dedicated to her current couples that we don’t see her much now. After departing from our last dinner together I felt sad and my husband asked me what was wrong. I joked, «I think Kristeen is breaking up with us.»

Kristeen is a fantastic wedding and events planner who I would work with again in a heartbeat!

Kristeen was really the perfect wedding planner for me — super collaborative and brought in great vendors, constantly shared cool and creative ideas for placecards, centerpieces, décor, etc. I wanted a chalkboard for all of the place seatings, and she found me one and even went so far as to pick it up! That is just one example of her willingness to make your day special. The day of, she was on top of everyone and everything so that I could enjoy the memories and not be stressed. Most importantly, she is passionate about weddings and I highly recommend her!

I have the unique perspective of having worked with Kristeen in a couple of capacities — she was an employee of mine just before she started her planning business, and now I’ve chosen her to be the day-​of coordinator for my wedding next year.
As an employee (and, it seems, as a planner — I have followed her work closely) Kristeen brought an amazing attention to detail, collaborative nature and a stunning sense of quality and style to everything she did. I trusted her completely not only in all aspects of her role but in filling in for me in my own role when business and personal travel demanded time away from my desk. I was brokenhearted when I learned she was leaving us, but thrilled to see that she was going into planning and I knew absolutely that she would find the degree of much-​deserved success she has.
When I got engaged last month, THE first wedding decision I instantly made was that I would hire Kristeen to be my day-​of-​coordinator (if I were having a more elaborate wedding, I’d hire her for full planning, but my fiancé and I want a relatively simple, yet stylish, memorable and flawless event — and we want to be stress and worry free that day so WE can enjoy it as much as our guests!). I have every confidence I will get just that as a result of her efforts on my upcoming wedding day and will absolutely come back to Unilocal to report on how the day went!

Kristeen was amazing, she did an awesome job at our wedding and I will always be grateful to her. We hired Kristeen LaBrot Events to be the coordinator for the day of our wedding in Santa Monica, October 2012.
1) If you’re on the fence about day-​of coordination, believe me, it will be worth it in the end. As other reviewers have commented, it’s clear looking back that we couldn’t have done without Kristeen’s help. We chose a venue where we had to hire vendors to bring everything in from the outside, and Kristeen’s network of professional/​vendor contacts and sometimes preferred discounts, were well worth the money we spent to hire her for day-​of-​coordination.
2) We met with other planners, and I could tell that they weren’t all ecstatic about being hired for day of coordination vs. full planning. When Kristeen took us on she treated us like our wedding was as important as any other she was planning. Kristeen is also real with you, where another planner might not be. In our introduction meeting (when we were not yet her clients), she gave us the budget shock we needed, and that’s ulitmately why we wanted to work with her.
3) Kristeen took us on and was incredibly responsive, provided helpful vendor suggestions, and trusted that we would come up with a cohesive vision of our own once all was said and done. She came over to our place to get instructions about all the little décor pieces and details we had either purchased or rented to use at our reception venue, and she took copious notes. It’s impossible for someone to see exactly what you have in your head but when we arrived at the reception venue during cocktail hour, Kristeen had everything in place and it all looked great. The only things that were not perfect were really as a result of my own errors in communication or leaving a few things to the last-​minute.
4) Kristeen was very organized on the day of (even though I was not), and brought additional helpers to set everything up. She was like some kind of incognito wedding ninja during the wedding, because seemed to be everywhere she was needed but also blended right in.
We’re so grateful to have found Kristeen and recommend her highly.

From start to finish Kristeen went above and beyond the call of duty. All of our guests at our wedding commented that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to, and I owe so much of that to Kristeen. She completely saw my vision and helped bring it to fruition, and it was even more beautiful and elegant than I had imagined it would be. She always kept her cool with any bump or turn we encountered along the way. My fiancé and I were very particular about many details, down to the temperature that our different wines were served at. She attended to each detail with complete precision. The day of the wedding I was completely at ease because I knew Kristeen was ON IT! I would, and do constantly recommend her to anyone who is planning a wedding or shower. She is absolutely THE BEST!!!

WOW! What an amazing planner and person. Kristeen was incredibly professional while still being laid back and fun. She had an answer or could easily find the answer to my many questions. She was so available too… she always returned my emails quickly, even the super late night ones. On our wedding day, we were able to just relax and enjoy ourselves. I definitely enjoyed being a DIY bride and designed a lot of stuff myself. Kristeen lets you have your own vision and does everything she can to make it come true.

Kristeen is excellent. She helped execute our vision and most importantly, she made it so we could actually enjoy our big day. When I had a breakdown about napkins (you tell yourself you won’t be that kind of bride, but you will), Kristeen talked me off the ledge. On the day of our wedding, when the wind picked up and it was colder than anticipated, she found us heaters. In short, Kristeen gives you peace of mind. Without question, the best money you can spend on your wedding!

Kristeen is awesome. She did a great job at our wedding, and I frankly don’t know how we would’ve pulled it all off without her. First of all, she is crazy organized. She goes above and beyond on everything. She provides helpful suggestions, referrals, tips, and other tidbits of information to get the best bang for your buck on every wedding detail.
Second, she’s has tremendous vision. She listened to what we wanted, understood our personalities, and excelled at turning our ideal «wedding look» into a reality beyond our expectations. Our venue was gorgeous, and she was the main reason why.
Third, she’s an indispensable asset for the big day. You don’t have to fuss over details. the wedding day was run with professionalism. We didn’t have to worry about details. This was a monumental task considering she had to deal with so much family, non-​english speaking guests, caterers, the whole nine-​yards. She expertly managed all of these elements with minimal burden on us.
Finally, Kristeen is a wonderful person. She is kind, sweet, and incredibly competent. I would highly recommend Kristeen to anyone thinking about getting married, and I encourage you to retain her early in the process.

I really have no idea where to begin on this review. I guess I should say Thank You to Kristeen for everything she did for Joe and I’s wedding. She went beyond the call of duty for us. You can really tell she LOVES what she does. She came to our rescue when our original venue fell through and she found us the beautiful Marrakesh House. If we needed vendor referrals, we looked towards Kristeen because she works with some of the best people out there who won’t nickel and dime you. She responded to every email and call within moments. Day of the wedding, my husband and I had nothing to worry about. We knew everything was safe in her hands and if something went slightly awry she would rectify without us even knowing something was wrong.
I was very fortunate to work with Kristeen at this time when her business is starting to blossom cause I know deep down inside she will be doing celebrity weddings in no time.

Kristeen is amazing! She helped alleviate any stress I had before and during the wedding. (and believe me, I was a major stress case!) Thank you, Kristeen!

This is one of the hardest reviews I’ve had to write — only because there are soooooo many WONDERFUL things I want to share about Kristeen. So, Im attempting to keep a balance between a professional and gushing review – without sounding like a total KLB Events groupie (which im proud to say I am ;).
First of all, hands down Kristeen was THE BEST wedding investment I made. I was in my 11 month of wedding planning, when decided I should hire a DOC. I definitely regret not hiring Kristeen immediately after I got engaged. I thought I was doing somewhat okay wedding planning on my own, but once Kristeen came along wedding planning became so much sweeter.
PRE-​WEDDING: At our first meeting Kristeen instantly put my wedding jitters at ease. She immediately took initiative to help me with my long to-​do list. Although I had hired Kristeen only as my «day of coordinator», she was unbelievably kind to assist me with my remaining 2 months of planning. Whenever I contacted her via email or text she responded promptly and sometimes during my insomniac laaaaate night planning, she would chat with me via facebook, just to make sure i was doing «OK». I cant imagine any other coordinator ever doing that.
Kristeen kept in touch with all my vendors and made sure every one of them followed through. Her sweet assistant Renee, went to take pictures of potential photo spots. During rehearsal, Kristeen was a stand in bridesmaid, when one of my BM flaked out. And she ran to city hall the day before the wedding, when I frantically thought I needed a fire permit for my reception candles (turns out i didn’t). I can give a hundred more examples how Kristeen went above and beyond the normal DOC duties before the wedding.
WEDDING DAY: I thought I was going to be a nervous wreck on my wedding day, but I was able to be a calm bride because I knew Kristeen was my coordinator. Kristeen and Renee, unpacked, set up, cleaned and packed every single décor for my reception. It was a hectic 13 hour day for them, but they carried on with grace, professionalism and a smile. There were a few mishaps caused by my reception venue but of course Kristeen was there to save the day. The venue messed up a surprise meal I had for my husband, so Renee ran out to get a replacement dish and was back within minutes. Then Kristeen sorted out a bar tab situation and saved us a couple of hundred dollars. Again I can give many more examples how great Kristeen was at the wedding. Best of all my husband and I were able to dance the night away without any stress, thanks to KLB Events.
POST WEDDING: After the wedding I was afraid my photographer didn’t capture a particular detail shot. I had expressed this concern with Kristeen… of course being the wonder woman she is, she took initiative and contacted my photographer — even though its post wedding and shes no longer my DOC! Now thats dedication!
Kristeen is confident, great listener, patient, knowledgeable, creative, organized, professional, and has impeccable taste. She carries all the qualities of an excellent coordinator. Every time I hear someone is engaged, she’s the first person I recommended. I cant stress enough, how Kristeen is indeed THE BEST wedding investment any bride could make.
PS: The while the hubby and I were dancing he leaned over and said: «Turns out we didnt need David Tutera, we had you and Kristeen.» Even the groom was impressed!
