Our ours are Monday-​Friday from 9am-​6pm and Saturdays and Sundays by appointment only.

History

Established in 1999.

Owner, Nic Shangle was raised in the South Bay area of California. His love for cars, whether it’s an old classic or new exotic vehicle, led him into the auto detailing industry.

Originally a mobile detailing business, Nic has finally opened up a brand new Polished Detail shop in 2015 to keep up with demand for ceramic coatings. We still offer our mobile services and pick up and drop off if you decide to leave your vehicle with us at the Polished Detail shop.

Business Owner

Our founder, Nic Shangle, has been in the auto detailing business for over 16 years. He has been featured in many magazines, in The Car Matchmaker (an Esquire Network television show) and in The Daily Breeze newspaper.

Nic Shangle was the previous owner of Eye 4 Detail and West Coast Auto Spa. He chose to rebrand and restructure his talents into a new business model and new company and Polished Detail was born in 2015. Polished Detail concentrates on a straight forward pricing structure and simplified offering of detailing packages and ceramic coating packages.

If I could give more stars, I would. Having a brand new black truck, I didn’t know how I would keep the paint looking nice for the life of it. Meeting Nic and going through the process of the Ceramic Pro and how nice his cars looked with the product already installed, I was sold. Throw in his passion for flawless vehicles and the pride he exudes for his work, that’s the type of person I want working on my truck! Add in Mel in the office and you have a small business that’s doing big things. If you love your car enough to be Unilocaling for the best to keep your car looking the best, look no further.

Detailing as good as it gets! …that’s what you get at Polished Auto Detail. The proof is in the results. I took my 1965 Corvette Stingray (a great car but with flawed paint) to Nic at PAD and he transformed it into a show winner! First place at the Gilmore car show in LA the very next week! Very knowledgeable and professional – highly recommended.

Let me start by saying that I’m very picky about how my car is cared for. I refuse to take my car through a machine wash and in the past only washed it myself always using clean towels, 2 bucket method with grit guard and even learned to handle a random orbital polisher to do some minor compounding/​polishing work myself, but nowhere as good as the professionals.
I spent the last couple years in Pittsburgh attending grad school where I had trouble finding a good detailer, and since I was living in student housing, I didn’t have the means to wash my car myself. My car was starting to look pretty bad from the harsh winters and bad road conditions.
I just returned to Southern California a few weeks ago and made it a priority to have my car back in pristine condition. I had the pleasure of working with Nic and just picked up my car today after having it fully detailed and coated in Ceramic Pro. I can say that my car has never looked better, even compared to the first day when I purchased my car 6 years ago. Nic is very knowledgeable and stands behind his work. He’s even having me come back in 2 weeks to walk me through how to wash the car now that it is ceramic coated. I’m always happy to support those that offer honest and quality work in the auto community and Polished Detail is definitely the place to go if you want your car looking its best!

I came to Nic with a blue metallic challenger so he could apply the ceramic pro gold. Man did that challenger come out sweet! I sent it to him 3 weeks after rolling off the lot with it and with that coating on it now it looks way better than any car on the dealer lot.
Nic and his team are very professional and know their stuff. If you are thinking of having your car look show room ready all day every day I’d say go for it, you’ll not regret it.

I have yet to get my car detailed here BUT!!! I did drive in to get a quote and see why they had so many stars on Unilocal.Turns out this is such a high caliber of car detailing! These guys have been in business since ’99 and know what they are doing.
The owner walked me through the shop and explained the process of what exactly they do and educated me on their process. Nothing like any wax job I have seen. These guys literally make cars look like glass!!! I can’t wait to get my car taken care of and brought here to have it ceramic coated and looking wet and shiny as crystal.

Going to Polished detail was one of the BEST DECISIONS I have ever made when regarding my car. Words cannot express what an excellent, and outstanding job he does. He puts in the extra effort that not all other places do to really bring the colors of your car back to life.
I drove all the way from the bay area to long beach and needed my 2002 Toyota ready for Toyota fest, he went above and beyond with what I expected. He took a 14 year old paint job and made it look like it had just been freshly painted. I have never seen my car look as good as it does now, I can actually say that my car looks better in person than it does in pictures! And it’s all because of the OUTSTANDING JOB that he did. I really believe it is because he did such an AMAZING job, and made my car look so good that I was able to win an award at the show.

One word, three letters… WOW!
These guys did an amazing job with my car! It’s only a couple years old and is well maintained but definitely needed some TLC. As I’m sure many with salt-​water in close proximity have noticed, the salt and sand in the dew and the wind wreaks havoc on paint, exposed metal like the wheels, discs and calipers. The reason I fell for my car was because of the paint morphing in the sun as I walked up to to it on the lot 2+ years ago. It started to lose a little bit of that magic even though I was good about keeping the paint protected by traditional means. (e.g. clay, wax)
I’M BLOWN AWAY at what Polished Detail was able to accomplish with their detail and ceramic coating package. The luster of the paint has completely been restored and is now protected under a baked-​on ceramic coating. How cool is that? They were also able to take a ding out of the passenger door even though the body is aluminum. Big time plus.
After seeing the amount of time and effort they were spending on other vehicles and my own, I knew the coating was worth every cent. Customer for life.

Took my gf’s car to «polish detail» when she was out of town as a surprise for her, I wasn’t sure if they would get it done in time before she got back into town, Nic assured me that it would.
Not only did he have it before she got back, but when she got home she literally walked around the block looking for her car before calling me and asking if I’ve seen it, I told her it was outside as I had used it to go to the store (polished detail) SHE HAD WALKED PAST IT OVER AND OVER not realizing it because how well there team restored the headlights, ceramic coated the paint and clean the rims, she said «she’s never seen her baby like that»
I told her «now that we have polish detail and Nic and his crew on our side, it never will look like that again»

Polished detail goes above and beyond! You will NOT find a better detailer around. Not only do they utilize the best products BUT they know WHAT they are doing with them. A detailer can have the best products in the world but without the Knowledge on how to correctly use them, they’re useless. These guys make cars go from grimmey to shinny! Is you’re looking for something fast and cheap, keep looking. If you’re looking for a REAL professional detail, look no further.

I just bought a brand new Audi S4 and immediately took it to Nic to have him do his magic with ceramic coating and such. My car came out so pretty and interestingly the coating brought out the pearl in the paint which made it really stand out. Two weeks later it rained over night, when I came out in the morning my car looked like the picture I attached, a million beads of water. Within 1 block of my house the beads had fallen off my car and when I arrived at my destination it looked like I had just gotten my car detailed, not one water spot on the paint. I was amazed. Great job you guys!

I recently brought my 2015 BMW M4 to Nic /​Polished Detail and I could not be happier with the experience.
Polished Detail’s work is some of the best that I have seen. I researched and looked at several different coatings and shops, but I eventually decided to get Ceramic Pro installed here.
Nic did an amazing job throughout. I brought my vehicle in for a quote. He talked me through the type of packages they offer, where coating can be applied, the condition of my vehicle, common installations and coverage areas, and any questions I had about the process.
It was evident that Nic was a master installer with years of experience. This shop has an easy to read price guide for estimates, but for a hard quote, you need to bring the vehicle in so they can examine the state of the vehicle and walk through the package or options you want installed. The quote I was provided was fair and straight forward.
When I picked up the vehicle from Nic, he walked me through the work that was done, showing me the areas Ceramic Pro had been applied to do, and answered any questions I had. He even showed me basic maintenance techniques for the coating.
I then brought my vehicle back in within 2 weeks for the inspection, and the process was a breeze.
Not only does Nic /​Polished Detail perform excellent work, the respect and diligence Nic has for his customers as well as his top notch work ethic is truly hard to find.
I will bring my next vehicle to Polished Detail in a heartbeat.

I just picked up my MB CLA45 AMG and I am bubbling over with excitement on how absolutely gorgeous it looks! Nic worked magic on the paint restoration and the ceramic pro coating. I would never have guessed it would turn out to have such a deep reflective glossy shine. Not a single swirl mark or spider web. Nic’s work is amazing and he is a true perfectionist with an amazing eye for detail. The thing that puts him in a class by himself is his outstanding customer service. He is approachable, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The whole experience from the day I stopped by to see what it was all about to the ongoing service is top notch. **BUYER BEWARE** this business does not list their pricing structure anywhere! Don’t trust any business that doesn’t list standard pricing or refund policies.
I paid over $ 2000 to have my car done just to find out later that they charged someone else only $ 400 for the same job! Save your money and use a legit detail shop that is licensed and bonded!
Almost any major car detail shop will offer you the same type of coating or something similar for far less in price! Don’t fall victim to this scam!

If I could give this place 20 stars, it still wouldn’t be enough. Nic is such a geek when it comes too auto care and detail. He can talk hours about making your car look its finest even though the car is not his. He takes so much pride into his work. I think his whole staff does. Now lets talk about this Ceramic Coat. Lets just say its awesome. It rained a couple of days after picking up my truck and when it rained and dried. It looked as if the truck was never in the rain. Yes, that perfect. From my understanding, not anybody can do Ceramic Coat. Yes there are some good detailers out there that might try. But what Polish Detail has is the state of the art environment. He is able to wash and perform his procedure under his environmental control which makes his work major league. I have no doubt in my head about paying for the services I received. Also Nic is an all around great guy. Any problems or questions you have and he is right there to answer.

Several months ago I bought a Porsche Cayman S with under 5,000 miles. Every week I would have it hand washed at the local car wash. While the dirt would go away more and more swirl marks would show up. One night at a grocery store a Professional Driver named Eric approached me and explained why his car looked so good. I immediately began researching Polished Detail and the product they use Ceramic Pro 9H. I decided to meet with The owner Nic and see if it would be worth it.
Needless to say I went through with it. Nic stripped all of the wax off revealing how bad the swirls/​scratches actually were on my car. (These will be elaborated upon in a second Unilocal review about the dealership that hid them from me) Polished Detail performed corrections and made my car look better than new. See the before and after picks to see how bad the scratches were and how shiny, clean and wet the car looks now.
Above all of that the most impressive part of the experience was the customer service. I can’t go on enough about how great it was. The initial meeting sold me. He didn’t try to sell me on the product. He just let me walk around the shop and see the results. Then answered every question and explained all the benefits. Nic was great about answering and returning calls. He kept me posted throughout the entire process. When I went to pick her up he went through everything he had done and had pictures to back it up. There is a lot to say for people who take pride in their work. I can’t imagine many shops as good at corrections as Polished Detail and you will be hard pressed to find better customer service anywhere.

Nic’s Polished auto detailing is absolutely amazing! I originally was going to go with the ceramic pro sport detail package, however after doing some research i upgraded to the ceramic pro light which has a 2 year warranty. I was unsure initially what the car would look like, but after picking the car up and how bright and ‘alive’ the paint was i was very pleased! In fact i told Nic that i plan on returning to his shop for custom request for aesthetic reasons.
After picking up the car, i first noticed that the vehicle looked better than when i originally ordered it straight from the factory line. I am very picky and particular when it comes to the paint and coat of my vehicle and all expectations were surprised by the level of quality of the polished detail. I advised Nic that i would like to add the Ceramic pro 9H package for the next future detail. I strongly recommend Nic’s polished auto detail to my co workers, friends, and family.

I was reluctant to take my 2013 RAM to get polished afraid of all the horrible jobs i have seen out there… Mind you my paint was already in really bad shape from a sand storm. But a co worker referred POLISHED DETAIL to me so I decided to go check it out. Went in to see they’re work and check out the shop. I was very impressed with the honesty and professionalism Nick showed (my paint was BAD)… Went in for a polish and detail and decided to get Ceramic Pro 9H gold package … Wish I would of went with the PLATINUM PACKAGE… Saying Nick did a phenomenal job isn’t saying enough… My RAM looks like it was dipped in black glass!!! !!!
I used to spend half the day (6hrs minim) washing then spay wax and polishing and it never looked as good as it does now! Now it takes me 30mins to wash and it looks better than new! THANKS NICK!

Excellent work, very professional and extremely careful with his work. I get my cars detailed on a regular basis and just completed the ceramic pro coat.
