Sentry West Lincoln & Mazda

Sentry West delivered my new car with a dent. When I brought it to their attention, they scribbled down the name of an outside repair location and told me to arrange for repair myself.
Well, now two years later, the dent is still there and I have moved on to another dealer.

Jim Kelley, Service Manager, at Sentry West Mazda is the consummate professional. Two years ago while our CX-​9 was in for service, he highlighted an item that needed immediate repair. We trust him implicitly. So much so that we bought a 2016 CX-​5 from his company and our 1^st service with the vehicle was recently completed in the same professional manner with which they serviced our CX-​9. It is rare to find trustworthy service professionals today — just read Consumer Reports — Jim Kelley and Sentry West Mazda are not at all like that. What a breath of fresh air. And we absolutely love our CX-​5!!!

Called to make an offer on a used mx5. Was told I would get a call back the same day. I did not, so emailed them off their ad on Autotrader. Despite being clear with my offer, I received a call asking how they could assist. I explained it again and was told I would hear back, which I did hours later. It’s experiences like this that continue to give dealers a bad reputation. Communication and transparency are key to an organization. Maybe not this one. It shouldn’t take 24 hours to get a counter offer or in this case a rejection of an aggressive but still fair offer.

Nice salespeople. No high pressure here, just lots of patience and many cars to try out. I didn’t know what kind of vehicle I wanted and my salesman, Dean was nice and let me try out as many as I wanted and was knowledgeable about all the cars. I was able to strike a deal for my trade that while wasn’t what I wanted, was fair and they came down on there side too. So I think everyone felt a fair deal had been struck. Finance was pretty good, again nice people all around. Its nice to be respected rather than hustled when you go to buy a used car. Hopefully my new car will last me a long time and there service matches up to the sales department.

Sentry West Lincoln & Mazda I just want to say THANK YOU for NOT budging on your price!!! I am a bit confused why you wouldn’t offer anything but the price listed on the vehicle, but then drop the price the following day on Carguru and Auto Trader. Maybe it was just us and you will want to sell it to the next folks that are interested.
Al (our sales person) we just want to say thanks for not fighting to make the deal happen! I am not sure if it was you or the business manager but one offer and one offer only is an interesting sales strategy.
Back to why I am thankful. We found a much better deal on the same vehicle at another dealer who really seemed to want to sell us the car.
Folks when you are looking for a new vehicle and come across Sentry just remember the price you see is the only price you get !!!

Finally got my wife her CX-​5 GT. Not a bad experience, very nice atmosphere, relaxed, no pressure. I knew what I wanted and all we had to do was crunch numbers.
I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars due to our low trade in value for my wife’s car. We could have done much better in that regard but what can you do, I still got a great price for a top of the line CX-​5 and she loves it.
Good people here at Sentry. Very satisfied and am glad we finally dealt with a dealership not full of scumbags.

I bought my car here back in September. At first I was kind of put off that I had to go hunt down someone to let me test drive the car I wanted to look at, but in the end I was beyond satisfied with the lack of pressure, knowledge, and professionalism everyone that i worked with there had. Jay was my salesperson, and I thought he was great — laid back, knowledgeable, honest, and very friendly. The sales manager was super-​nice, and even the Finance Manager (who I was nervous to deal with) had everything ready to go for me and got me in and out the door as quickly as possible. A very good experience, overall.
Since my purchase, I’ve had to deal with the Service Department a couple of times for an ongoing and bizarre issue with my Bluetooth. From the initial phone call about the problem onward, I have been beyond impressed with how I’ve been treated. I’ve dealt with Dan, Eric, and the Service Manager, Jim, quite a bit. All have been courteous and friendly every time I’ve interacted them. When my issue could not be resolved after leaving the car with them for the day (they gave me a free loaner — I just paid for gas), I thought I would be SOL. However, Jim continued to check in with me and continued to investigate on his side of things. Today he was able to resolve my issue permanently!
I had my last car for 10 years and drove it until it had nearly 200,000 miles on it. I never once received the level of service with my previous dealership as I’ve received from Sentry West. Very impressed.

NO NONSENSE SALES: Rob, the sales manager, and Jay, the salesperson I worked with were knowledgeable, friendly, and did not apply the type of sales pressure that customers dread. I emailed in advance telling them what I wanted to test drive. When I arrived, the car was right in front waiting for me.
Once I made my decision to buy, we arrived at a price very quickly, without a lot of haggling. In addition, I got a really fair price (more than I expected) for my trade which allowed me to leave it with them instead of taking the time to sell it myself on Craigslist.
I wasn’t bargain shopping, so I can’t really speak to their ability to give better discounts than the competition. I bought a 2014 Mazda3 in the first 2 weeks it was available. I paid just a bit less than the sticker plus taxes, etc. I had basically just hoped to have an easy buying experience, and that’s exactly what I got at Sentry. No hassles. No bullshit.
SERVICE ABOVE AND BEYOND: I once read online that 1 out of every 100 cars is a lemon. While I think the statistic is probably fabricated, it does happen. Unfortunately, it happened to me. It’s a long story not worth retelling, but I wanted to mention that when my car had some issues within the first week of purchase, the service manager, Jim, gave it his personal attention, even keeping me posted via email. When it was clear that the original car I purchased was flawed, he worked with Mazda to get me a brand new vehicle. Obviously, you can’t hold the dealership responsible for a defective car. How they respond to your concerns and fixing the issue, however, is what separates the dealers dedicated to customer satisfaction and those just trying to make a quick buck. Sentry responded quickly and decidedly, and partnered with the manufacturer to make sure I got the new car I paid for. (Ps: the new 2014 Mazda3 is a great car. Driving one will blow your mind!)

Great Dealership to do business with. I have been using their service dept. for almost 5 years and they are great. They don’t try to get you to have things done that are not needed and they repair things correctly the first time. I also just purchased a car there and the process was very smooth and painless.

Went to another dealer and fell in love with the dolphin gray Mazda 3… but the manager of the other dealer nixed the deal I’d made with the sales guy in advance. They were shocked I walked. Now that I knew what I wanted, I talked to Tim Colleton and made a better deal on the phone, he faxed the credit app, and the next day I picked up the car.
People there were easy to deal with. So far car is great. Will update after I have some service experience.

Great service department. Service appointments fit my schedule, comfortable waiting area, service times are reasonable. Nice people to deal with; fair and honest prices.

I had currently bought a Mazda their a week later I had a problem with the radio. I bring it back so they can check it out and tell me they’re gonna need the car for the day so they can fix it. I asked about a loaner car since this car is new and already an issue they tell me that I would have to pay 30 dollars for it. I told him the car is brand new and it’s a manufacturer issue they should cover it. I left their so annoyed I decided to call Mazda myself and they had no problem fronting the bill for the loaner. I failed to mention this was the second car I bought from this dealer so the customer loyalty was there but where was the dealership loyalty. They kiss your ass to get you to buy the car but when it comes time for them to step up and actually take care of the customer they look the other way.

Went here because my car broke down in a parking lot in Framingham, late on a Friday afternoon. I had bought my car at the dealer in Medford, so I didn’t know anybody there. The service guy stayed late to meet the tow truck and get me in a rental car… even though I had forgotten my wallet at home so he had to take my word that I would call him with the credit card # when I got home. So… for treating me like a human being instead of a number, five stars in my book. Plus they fixed my car quickly and washed it for me — nice touch!

Worst experience ever. Went in saw a Mazda I really wanted, first they tried to backpeddle on a price tag hanging in the car! Said it was left over from the Presidents Sale in Feb. Strange how the website showed the same price. Acted like they were doing me a huge favor by «honoring» the price. Would only offer me 500. for my trade when toyota already oferred 1500.00. But I really wanted that car. So I filled out the application and waited. and waited and waited. Called, emailed and showed up in person to be told, the couldnt find my file and the sales person went home early because he was at the registry all day. Poor baby, After calling several more times I got the so called «buisness manager» on the phone. 8 days later and still working on my loan, said he was missing info. Told him Toyota approved me and she said No they did not! really? then why am i driving a brand new toyota? Even called Derek back to tell him I could finance through my credit union but he didnt call back and neither did Mike. Guess they didnt want my money. Anyway worked out I got a better car for less money and I will NEVER visit that place again.

Despite the other two reviews, the sales was exceptional!
I traded in my $ 300 a month gas guzzler of a jeep for a Mazda 3. I got a great trade in value for my jeep! I was very happy with the service of Russel, the sales manager and also the one taking care of my trade in. Scott was great as well! When we first got there we walked around for a little before Scott came to talk to us. VERY appreciative. I hate car salesman that jump all over you the second you get out of the car. It’s quite annoying and makes me take my business elsewhere to be completely honest. Anyway, he let us test drive some cars, and also made small talk which was very easing and made the car search much more relaxing. Derek, in financial is great as well. Due to being young and my credit, it was hard for me to get a loan, but they showed how much they really care for their customers when they want them to leave happy. Needless to say I love my Mazda and I appreciate all the work and effort of the Sentry West team for all their help!
I would definitely recommend anyone to purchase their next car through them!
On a side note, a week later both Scott and Derek called/​emailed to follow up and see how I was enjoying my new car. Talk about great customer service!

I have had the run-​around with Sentry. I made an appointment to get my car fixed. Three different things needed to be done and I was told that it would be 2 hours. I sat in the waiting area for 10 min and was then told that «to fix the car the right way, it would be 5 hours». I want to know why it wouldn’t be fixed correctly the first time.
I rescheduled to have my car «fixed the right way» and showed up for my appointment on time. I had arranged a ride and left the dealership. 15 min after I dropped off my vehicle I received a call stating «it would be 2 hours for two of the issues. But it was going to be 8 hours for the third issue and would have to make ANOTHER appointment and leave my car there the whole day» because «he didn’t know that another thing needed to be fixed». The disorganization of Sentry is ridiculous. I am never going to be using your services nor will I recommend the dealership to anyone looking to get their car fixed.
