Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough

We had visited several dealerships in the area before deciding to choose Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough. Most of our decision was based on the service we received from Pierre Ladkani, our Sales & Leasing Consultant. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt no pressure and no typical «sales pitch». He was concerned about our car needs and was knowledgeable about the vehicle features. When we asked to take a test drive, he even allowed us to take the vehicle without him (even though this was against protocol) so that we could discuss our opinions freely with out feeling awkward. Our experience with Pierre was a significant determining factor in our decision to purchase with Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough and we plan to return in the future.
Also of mention was our Finance Director, Adam Tremblay, who took extra time (late in the evening) to ensure we had the best coverage for our new car and worked with our budget.
Overall, we are very satisfied and very likely to recommend this particular dealership to others.

I brought my son’s 2004 Honda Civic in to be serviced at this dealership based on the recent airbag safety recall. I also scheduled an oil change and asked them to look the car over and let me know if there are any other mechanical issues I need to address. I wanted to get my son’s car ready for him to drive back to school in September. We dropped the car off the night before so they had it all day. When I picked up the car that evening, all the items on their check list were crossed out. It seems they decided that since the car looked like it belonged to a college student it wasn’t worth their time to look over. They just charged me $ 35 or so for the oil change and didn’t even bother to rotate the tires. When I got home I noticed that the rear tail light bulb was rattling around in the enclosure. None of the fluids had been topped off either. I called the service manager to complain about the lack of service but didn’t get much of a response to any of this. I own two Honda Civics (one which I bought new from this dealership in 2008) and a new Acura RDX that my wife and I just bought from another dealership group, partially based on this experience. This service center probably did me a favor since I ended up bringing my son’s car to Erickson’s, a locally owned auto repair shop in Westborough and had front end suspension and exhaust system work done at a reasonable cost, plus confidence that they took the time to really look the car over to make sure it was safe and sound.

you f****in suck. rude people. made an appointment for 11:00 am, they still didn’t look at the car at 4:00pm. brought the car to look at 11:00 am to look at and they said were going to look at it by noon so we could get to work. still at 4:00, NOTHING, NOTHING. we had to go to work, so we took the car and the wheel fell off right around the corner. herb chambers you suck. never never again. fuck you!!!

I used to like this place. i went there all the time. i got almost all my parts i need for my car. if i was lazy doing work myself i would go there for service. they treated me well. Van used to be very nice. hes the only reason i went back. i even left a great review a while back. today i made an appointment at 11:00. i sat down told them about my wheel problem that needed to be fixed asap, and i was told it was going to take up to an hour to know everything. they were not busy. not that it should matter because i had an appointment. they should of put me first before all the walk ins, if not what the fuck is the point of making an appointment. i waited till 330 for them. just to find out they they did absolutely NOTHING. My car was sitting for over 4 fucking hours. i asked for my key back so i can leave (and even that took 10 minutes) and when i left my wheel came flying off my car NOT EVEN five minutes later on the road. i slid into a middle of an intersection and damaged a lot underneath and my front end. so thanks for fucking my over!!! thanks for waisting my fucking day. thanks for making me take a day off for nothing. thanks for waiting my money. thanks for everything!
maybe you should bring Van back. give him a raise so its worth his time and gas. maybe promote him to a manger position, and get a new crew in there. its only logical.

Rudest salesman ever after we stopped at several dealerships along Rt. 9. Receptionist didn’t even know where the new cars were! I was torn between Toyota and Honda… this made up my mind. I will never go there again. Salesman Sean had a smart answer for every question we asked. Jerk. Ahhh… you work as a car salesman, get over yourself.

I have to give these guys some credit. They actually look at their Unilocal reviews, bravo! Upon reading my review the manager Tom was very kind and apologetic and reached out to me personally to make things right. We talked on the phone and through email and without me asking he reimbursed us the money we spent on the repairs which we greatly appreciate. My hope is that Herb Chambers does take this situation seriously and works with its employees on customer service so this kinds of issues don’t crop up to need fixing.
My new review is 3 stars; because as wonderful as my experience was with Tom and his willingness to amend the situation, the fact still stands that we were sold a very underhanded deal and I would hate to see this happen to someone else.

I bought a used Honda Accord there in February. The salesman was nice– not pushy, and didn’t try to talk me into anything. Next on to the «business manager” — ick. He was determined to talk me into any extended warranty that he could. Here is the kicker; he wrote all the options on the back of scrap paper– handwritten! Seriously, Herb Chambers owns half the dealers in this area!
I told him to print them out, I would review them, and let them know the next day when I picked up the car. I was told «no!»…the price changes daily, and all would be unavailable the next day! I refused to be rushed into anything, so I declined. Next he offered his «employee discount», and since he was being pushy and annoying, I again declined. He then made a rude comment under his breath, and I almost canceled the deal.
Fast forward to my oil change. They sent a coupon, so I figured I’d try the service dept. they said I’m due for a «major service», and said it would only be about another $ 30. When I asked for more details, they said I needed an alignment and tires rotated for a total of $ 150. Umm, I’m not an accountant, but that’s $ 110 more than the oil change. Two hours later (and I had an appointment!) I finally left– after asking me to promise to give them «a five star rating». I am going back to my regular mechanic.

Terrible, terrible.
Bought my 2011 Accord here last summer, and after negotiating and telling the manager I didn’t want the extra service coverage and shit like that for 30 minutes, I caved in to him and my wife. When he assured my I wouldn’t pay for any repairs on the vehicle, «I”ll never have to pay». Fuck that guy.
He literally told us that when we had our unborn child, due 4 months later (shes perfect by the way thanks for asking), that we wouldn’t wanna take out of our savings to pay to get our car fixed… fast forward to 3 weeks ago…
Bring my car in, needs a brake job. Guess what? not fucking covered. Oh, so the 30 extra bucks a pay a month for 5 years doesn’t cover that I guess, luckily I’m a rich school teacher so I can take out of my savings (poor baby I guess).
Guess brakes aren’t included in my never paying for anything! I would love to go down here and punch that fat guy in the face that sold me this crap.
Don’t trust these goddamn jokers.
To the credit of the dealership, the guy in service finally gave into (my amazing) wife after an hour of her time on the phone and cut our bill in half. Why doesn’t this earn a star? BECAUSE I shouldn’t have had to pay in the first place!

Visited this dealership last week. Before shopping in person we do a lot of research, we were going to the dealership ready to buy, pre-​approved for a loan with our bank. We secured a sitter for our infant son and brought our older, interested in cars, son with us. We brought an empty infant seat to test how the whole family would fit. Our goals were to take the car on the highway to ensure it was fine when driving at highway speed, and to ensure our son would fit comfortably sharing space with the infant car seat. We arrived and walked in to 3 staff chatting. They all stopped but no one greeted us, we approached and asked for the car. They said it may have been sold, and they’d check. We took a seat to wait, the one nice thing was they offered water or any drinks — pretty standard for a dealership. We waited almost 15 minutes before anyone came back to update us, they had indeed found the car. We went outside and prepared for a test drive. Typically we test drive without any employees, this was the case for the last 3 car purchases. We were told we had to be escorted by staff. While not ideal, this was not a deal breaker. We would have to put the infant seat in to see how it looked, but not actually drive around with it. The entire time we were preparing for this the staff was completely neutral, and then rude when we did request that we test drove without him. Everyone was buckled and ready to go and my husband stated that he intended to take the car to the highway just down the road to see how it would drive at highway speed. We were then told we could only test drive on a designated route, and were not allowed to take it on the highway. We offered to put $ 500 down to be able to take it on the highway. In the past we’ve purchased a car that we didn’t take on the highway and found out later on it had issues. They would not accept the money to allow the test drive and told us we could return it within 5 days if we found it had any issues… we left without test driving or buying the car. This is a ridiculous process — purchasing a car to test drive it and then returning it if you find issues… What a waste of time, all in all we were at the dealership 45 minutes, never drove the car and of course we had paid a sitter for the evening so we could take our time with the paperwork, all for nothing. What a disappointment!

This Honda is the absolute worst, in terms of customer service. They are so pushy and aggressive. My entire family rides Hondas. We have always come here, for all services, for as long as they’ve been around. The people here have been useless in terms of giving advice, had no suggestions for our problems (that the mechanics here most likely caused), made accusations against my mother, and pretty much shushed us (without listening to our complaints). I work in customer service and have never had the arrogance to treat customers the way that the people here treated us.
I don’t want to get into the details, but I think it’s really suspicious when my mother’s car and my car go through the same exact problems, when we both had been coming to the Honda at Westborough for every maintenance.
I hope I never have to come here again. I will certainly find an alternative. Just look at the five most recent reviews– less than 2 stars.

Quick oil change, great interior detail! Fast service and nice people. They did not push me to get the full detail or any other work done. It seemed like they just wanted to help. Will definitely be going back here for other services!

I have never bought a car here, but I’m positive that I never will. I have come here for service for issues with my Honda Accord, and am always met with extremely high prices and told that I have a «need» for services that I do not. I came here for an oil change and they told me it was going to cost me $ 195 for services that I «Needed» before they would change my oil. I brought it to someone else and there was nothing else needed. When the plastic broke on my key, they told me it was going to cost $ 65 for a new key and $ 120 to program it. I didn’t need a new key, I just needed the plastic casing which I found online and replaced myself for $ 5. I’ll avoid this place at all costs, as they have so many.

I purchased a 2014 Pilot there. The whole thing was all about the ratings. That’s all they cared about. Honestly, if I had to hear one more time about the ratings!
My car went in for service this weekend. Again, it was all about the ratings. The guy told me at least 5 times that a neutral review was a negative review. Really, it affects the service there and is a major turnoff to think that everyone is being nice, so that they get good ratings. They should just provide good service and it would speak for itself.
Saturday I had an oil change and tire rotation, which even with a coupon was quite pricey! When I left I discovered a small nick on the door that wasn’t there prior to that. It wasn’t a big deal, but the first nick hurts, especially on a 5 month old car that cost $ 40,000. I emailed them to tell them to take better car of vehicles in their care and they emailed me back and said they’d love to help me purchase my next car.

After a nightmare at Honda in Auburn, Herb Chambers really stepped up and showed us the service we expect from a Honda dealership.
We bought a certified used Honda Odyssey 17 days ago and while traveling on a highway the inner side wall of the rear tire blew out. We purchased the tire warrantee from the original dealer in Ri and were told any Honda Service center would honor it.
We originally took the car to Honda of Auburn and after an hour and a half wait, they refused to honor the warrantee. Our Rhode Island dealer contacted Herb Chambers and they graciously took the car on the spot. They didn’t charge us a penny and apologized for the other dealership’s behavior.
I am more than pleased with the experience we have had with Herb Chambers and plan on turning to them for all our car needs from now on.

I’m not good in writing. but hopefully u guys can understand. I purchased my 10 honda accord in this place. I even introduced my couple friends to buy cars here too. But I was really really disappointed for my last time visited. i took my car to do oil change there. Everything Is fine until my service guy came over take to me said my car needs to change (engine fluid. brake fluid.power steering fluid and transmission fluid) I think. 4 types of fluid recommend to change at the same time. My mileage was around 52k at that time. i asked him if these replaces are necessary. He told 2of them must be replace immediately. I said if it is necessary than go ahead get this done. I think one of them cost 89, The another one cost 99. But I felt something suspicious. So I called 2 other honda dealership and they all told me it’s absolutely not necessary to replace at this mileage. i felt extremely uncomfortable when I heard that. So I find one of general manager talked to him privately. He seem know what is going on, his face reaction look really worry. Than he started offering me
.ice cream… He is nice guy nice attitude. But At that moment. I 100%knew that I got scam but I also expose them. It ended up paying about 200 more which is not really a big deal. But I’m mean. You guys should not be dishonest and take advantage to costomer. Really really wrong. Don’t go there to do service. Don’t try to burn your money away seriously.

The worst nightmare since dreaming of monsters!
2 months later and we are still living the hell.
I thought our sales person was helpful… but guess not.
They lost all future business.
This last deal has cost me more than what I agreed to pay.
They have done NOTHING to fix it!
And all they can say is: Sorry? WHAT THE F*&K!
And I thought Bernardi was bad!

The staff at Herb Chambers Honda Westborough are by far one of the best. Dealing with Anthony Kent was probably one of the best experiences I have had, recently I recieved a «Happy Anniversary» letter stating I had met my one year anniversary. I will not hesistate to buy another car with them when my lease is up. FANTASTIC STAFF!

I recently purchased a used vehicle in October (have leased with Herb Chambers previously) and the entire process from start to finish was very professional and painless. The purchase price of the vehicle was very fair and my salesman John Belez was one of the most relaxed, no pressure, and knowledgable salesmen that I have ever dealt with. The finance manager Adam Tremblay was awesome too, gave a clear and concise explanation of all the paperwork and had me in and out. I absolutely love my new car and couldn’t be happier!

So disappointed with this place! They will only take advantage of you here, and mark up everything from labor to parts at a ridiculous %. Easily charging more than twice a good mechanic will cost.
My AC stopped working and they wanted to charge me $ 1,020 for a compressor on a 2006 EX Civic. Which is OUTRAGEOUS!!!
It is unfortunate but Herb Chambers Honda must not be aware that car parts are now a commodity, and everyone with an internet connection can see what the actual cost of parts are. There is no longer a «special club», and ridiculous mark-​ups are no longer acceptable.
So when I was quoted a compressor at $ 460 when a new one should coast me $ 250 I can’t help but feel that I am being taken advantage of. That in conjunction with a $ 560 labor charge for 4 hours of work leads me to believe one of two things:
1. At a 50% mark up on labor the mechanics are earning $ 70/​Hr. equaling $ 145,000 a year!
2. Or in addition to a parts markup Herb Chambers Honda is also taking advantage of me for labor too!
Either way I can only associate Herb Chambers Honda with deceptive business practices and greed.
I recommend you never go here unless you hate having money.

I have to take the time out of my day to write this, because I own a small business and I know how important real experiences are for business.
I was in the market for a new SUV this month and was dealing with Dave Yang. I went back and fourth between the CRV and Subaru. Every visit to the dealership David was very kind and patient with me. I took 2 test drives and eventually went with Subaru. But, even though i didn’t buy a car from him, I will recommend him to friends.
A honest person is hard to come by in this type of business and David was a class act!
