I gave this nail salon a bad review but I need to start off by stating that the women that gave me a pedi was quiet but sweet. My pedi experience was typical and I had no complaints at the time. HOWEVER within a few days after my pedi I noticed both of my big toes were tender. I gave it a week and the tenderness got worse so I removed the polish. I was shocked to find that both toes has a nasty nail fungus! I’ve had regular pedis for 10 yrs now and this has never happened. I cant help but to suspect that the infection came from that salon. It was in fact the first and only time that I went there. I ended up requiring medication to kill the infection but I’m losing one toe nail and the regrowth process is taking forever.

I’ve been going to Star Nails for 5 years now and love it! Cindy does such an awesome job and is always so patient and accomodating. The entire staff is friendly and it’s just a nice place to hang out while you get your nails done! Great location too! Right across from Starbucks and many favorite shopping destinations! I moved out of Santee years ago but keep going to Star Nails to get expert service from Cindy.

I recently started going to this shop since it changed to Star nails. I get mine done from Cindy, she is very sweet and does an awesome job. I am very picky about my nails, and the issues I had before was lifting, or chipping of my tips. I haven’t had a chipped nail yet, I have been going for about 4 months now. Not to mention she makes them nice and thin :)

I would give them no stars if I could. This place is far from spa like. The employees were loud and running up and down in front of the spa chairs. At one point employees were wrestling in the back area. One woman that worked there was loudly singing and it was like a scene from the American idol try outs. Stay far away if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy.

My friend and I came here for a much needed spa day. We went all out, including gel polish on my nails and both her nails a toes. Within a week it was peeling off my nails! I was able to just pull it straight off all my nails. I’ve had gel polish before and I know this is not supposed to happen. The polish didn’t even go to my cuticles either, so I had this strip of unpainted nail right next to my cuticle. I know the polish on my friends nails started peeling, I don’t know about her toes. The regular polish on my toes still looks great at least. I really do not plan on coming here again and would not recommend it.

Just recently moved to Crest and was in need of a pedicure very badly. I came to Santee Trolley Center because I Love to Shop there. After getting my daily Starbucks fix I decided to try this place out. They are under new ownership and there name is different now… Star Nails. I was greeted with a friendly hello and ask for a pedi. It was a very relaxing and amazing. Qyuen did my pedicure and she was as sweet as could be. I didn’t know you could not put the tip on credit card. She wasn’t worried about it… I felt bad so I am going back today to tip Qyuen. I am going to let them do my nails and see how well they follow my instructions on how I like my nail… thin and natural. I was given a guarantee if I didn’t like them to come back and they will fix them for free. I will be back to review them after the fact. Tips: CASHONLY

I too have followed Tina Le from shop to shop and it is worth it. She does an EXCELLENT job and I have terrible nails. I tried so many different salons and my nails broke, peeled, lifted, cracked. It is rare that that happens now.

I’m a dude, but I like to get manicures. The basic cut, file, and buff. Usually takes about 10 – 15 minutes. Tell me why they kept pushing me back… a total of like 2 hours. They said come back in 15 minutes, I did, and I see they took a walk-in client. Really? I’m so over this place.

Let me start off and say that no other Nail salon compares to this one! I am 100% loyal to them! and I live in mission valley lol TINA who has done my manis/pedis for about 2 years is AMAZING :) she is so sweet and nice and always asks me about my day and remembers past conversations that we have had. Even my mom likes her a lot! This place is so welcoming and comfortable! Everyone is nice and I say hi to everyone when I get their, I recommend anyone thats how good they are but Tina is my favorite and the prices are reasonable too!

NEWOWNERSHIPATTHISSHOP!!! I have been seeing my nail girl Tina Le for the last 5 years and let me just say SHEISTHEBEST! I myself am in the beauty industry so I am really picky! I have followed Tina from shop to shop because she gives you the best customer service and is excellent at shaping all types of nails! She’s also great with designs beyond«flower» :) I came to this same shop before she took over and it was bad! Terrible customer service! If you are looking for a great manicurist, Tina Le is your girl! The shop now offers $ 5 off coupons from a spa pedicure which helps in today’s economy!

Horrible! i had a some time to myself on a saturday and decided to ignore the reviews and give them a try. Worst idea ever. Very Very over priced for the job they do. I asked for a spa pedicure and she set a timer! I have never been treated so badly in a salon. I was there to relax and have me time and instead broke the bank for a CRAPPY pedicure. Next morning My toe was swollen and in so much pain. Not a good sign. It has been 3 days and its already chipping.. . please listen to the reviews … DONOTGO!

So I decided to go here after shopping at Target for a quick eye brow wax. All I needed was a quick clean one. Requested for not thin. Repeated it a few times. Somehow the lady thought I meant thin when I said not thin. Because at the end I ended up with super thin eyebrows. Other time which should have been my lesson that this place doesnt listen is went in for a pedi/mani. Wanted to do it seperate but they decided to do it at the same time. So if you want someone to listen to what you want since you are spending money here dont recommend coming here.

I can’t stand this place. They totally overcharged my mom for a lousy pedicure, $ 32! THIRTYTWODOLLARS for a pedicure in San Diego??? There is a nail place ever 20 steps in SD. I brought a friend there a few months ago and they charged the same price for a mani and a pedi. They said that the pedi was some special shit… yeah right! Never, ever again… it’s so gross anyway.

A chop shop. Crowded, loud, not sanitary. facials there SUCK. A typical steam and cream, leave the room 6 or 10 times facial. Bad, loud crappy spa music. The back door is always open and you can hear the sounds of the street and smell the cigarette smoke from the workers that poke out for a smoke break between clients. Upsell, upsell, upsell. Flowers, jewels, paraffin(which has a thick layer of grey dead skin cells and sludge at the bottom– ew). They talk to each other and not to the client. Pass!
