Star Nails

Was not impressed and left feeling gross. Was running errands in the neighborhood and stopped in for a mani/​pedi with my daughter. Between cold pedi water, cobwebs on ceilings & floors and dirty chairs, I will not be going back.

One of the worst pedicures I have ever had. It was so rushed, not worth the amount I paid for all of the extras. The gel manicure turned out nice but I still wouldn’t come back here.

This place has screwed up my pedicure the past two times I’ve been there. They carefully go to put on my shoes and then bump my toes against the shoes. Won’t be back after I’m 0 for 2.

I came in on a Saturday afternoon. not crowded, clean, calm music.
I got the basic pedi with a man, he gave the best massage, didn’t rush.

Always a five star for me! I have taken the time to get to know the ladies there and I won’t go elsewhere! Quyen and Cindy rock! They all know me and we have a barrel of laughs!

This is my second time here for a pedi, both times I have come here I have a great service and my pedis turned out nicely.
The décor is rather odd with a giant half boat on one wall and a «crashing wave» above where I sit. Its not ugly, it just feels out of place like I should be in a preschool or VBS.
Their sanitization practices are very good as they use a liner in the foot spa; however the salon is a bit unkempt and has a lot of clutter.
The lady that gave me my pedi was very sweet and meticulous in her work (which I appreciate).
Overall the experience was good, nothing over the top or spectacular. Nice to have one place in Santee to go to.

I have always had a good experience here. The ladies that work here are friendly. I always walk in and never have to wait. The ladies do a great job and they don’t take too long.

I’ve been here once. Had an excellent spa pedicure with queen. Paid extra for longer massage which was excellent! It’s a little pricier then most places but you get what you pay for. I’d definitely go back again

I have never had a more horrible experience getting my nails done! First the lady cut me three times which, normally I am understanding but three times! Then she didn’t even clean the cuts she just kept going blood and all. I got shellac done and it came out uneven in spots and had bubbles from the nail dust! I asked for an accent nail to be glittery white and she did it silver even after I asked her to fix it! :/​I have never let without tipping and I was so frustrated I just left after paying! I work in the service industry so I believe in paying for a service preform but this was just too much!

just got my eyebrows done here and i’m super bummed! they waxed too much and left a gap in my eyebrow. plus, they didn’t wax away all the eyebrow hairs near the outside crease of my eye. what a waste!

I’ve been to this place many times. I’ve spent a lot of money here. For the last year I’ve not gone because I was ill. Finally my daughter and I went for some pampering and to get out of heat. I’m not only disappointed, I’m angry. I feel like I just spent 136 $ to get lousy service and lousy attitude. They wouldn’t even wait for my pedicure to be finished before they asked me to pay. Wow… I was there to relax. I’m also disappointed in my nails. When I tried to let the girl know they were not matching lengths and I kept saying no to her upselling was when the attitude started. I am never going back there again.

Had an amazing time here! My friend recommended Cindy or Quyen. I got the deluxe mani/​pedi, it was so worth it for the extra massage. I bought my own polish sonce I liked the color, Quyen did an amazing job on my manicure. I have small nail beds and fast growing cuticles and she did a great job of shaping the nails and nail beds for a professional look. As it was my first time I didn’t realize it was cash only for tip. I offered to run to the atm but she insisted I just pay her next time. It was busy on a Friday afternoon so I highly recommend setting an appointment. Great service and great work equals 5 stars in my book!

The absolute worst pedicure i have ever had!!! He never rubbed my feet, he put a little lotion on my legs and that was it…, oh and he did manage to make my toe bleed… seriously awful!!! This is why I haven’t gotten a pedicure in years!!! I hate paying for crap like this!

They were a big waste of time. As a widowed single mother, I finally had someone to watch the baby for a little pampering time before running some errands. They told me it would be a 30 minute wait. 55 minutes later I started to a walk out and they stopped me and promised it would be 5 more minutes. 15 minutes later I left without getting any of my coveted pampering. They wasted very precious time for me today. It’s OK if a place is busy, but don’t just keep saying things to keep someone there. An accurate wait time would have been nice. Instead they just kept screwing with me. I’ll never go back.

I’ve been going to Star Nails for over 5 years now and love it! Cindy does an awesome job and is always patient and kind. Quyen is a nail artist and will give you a custom design. The entire staff is friendly and it’s just a nice place to hang out while getting your nails done. Great location too! Right across from Starbucks and many favorite shopping destinations. I moved out of Santee years ago but keep going to Star Nails to get expert service!

My family and I always go here to get our nails done, they are the best! Always ask how I want my french tips done and are sure to get it right. Not pushy with selling the upgrades, and very kind. Love this place!

I’ve come here twice to get a pedicure, the first time was amazing, honestly the best pedi I’ve ever had. We came first thing in the morning and it was empty, clean and had really good ventilation — great experience.
The second time we came in the afternoon; it was packed, they had a really sad variety of colors there were five of us and they didn’t make any attempt to seat us together. They tried to upsell every one of us and argued when we said no. Within a week every pedi was chipping or otherwise messed up. Some had chipped off by the day after the pedi. Terrible experience.
I don’t think I’ll be coming back which is disappointing because after the first time I thought I had found my new pedi spot.

Firstly, the place was very clean. Their tool cleaning log was in plain view, which was nice to see. I came in ten minutes prior to closing, and felt bad for asking if they were closing soon, because I knew they wanted to go home too — I was told to sit down, and that it was okay.
I usually bring my own polish, but because of having a 10 month old with another due soon, I opted for gel instead. They had a lot of colors to choose from, and their prices were pretty standard. One woman walked in, and after learning the prices, rudely said they charged too much. I come from Washington state, where just about everything is cheaper than here where we are stationed, and the prices were pretty much the same as nail salons back home. They did a good job, and were friendly too. If I had the time to do things for myself, like get my nails done, more often, I would be a regular.

Went here today for a pedicure and left very disappointed. At the start of the pedi the girl was nice, talking, smiling and happy. Then she handed me the paper and tells me to pick what service I want. i told her the basic pedicure was fine and she told me no, I needed the more expensive one. Why? She proceeded to argue with me insisting I needed the most expensive pedicure. I said please just give me a «basic» which did not set well with her. She started talking to the other workers in her language and they all laughed. She never said another word to me for the remainder of the time. I’m sure they thought I was cheap but why do they have to up-​sell everything! Just give me what I am asking for. Will not return to this shop as there are way too many other places to choose.
