Extra Storage

I had a great experience with this place. I just needed storage between a move. The price was good, the check-​in process was easy and the service was great. No complaints.

This is where you want to store your things. The facility Is very well kept and safe. The office people are awesome! Shannon, Jason, Melissa and Kyle are friendly and kind. They’re a dying breed of goodness. I’ve kept my things in this facility twice over the years and have always had a positive experience. Remember these guys deal with people who are moving. Nobody loves to move, yet the staff here makes it easy and they have great personalities that are a relief when going through the hell of moving.

I was referred here by a friend and am happy I rented from them. They were able to accommodate me with a unit the same day I came in. Helpful staff, good prices, clean units!

Pros — Initially the cheapest place around. People in the office were super nice and friendly; especially Shannon.
Cons — When I signed up, I heard a lady loudly complaining about her rent having been raised quite a bit without her knowledge (I guess she didn’t check her email). Due to this, I paid attention and yep, within a mere 4 months, I received an email, stating that the rent would be raised by — are you ready? — almost 40%! Yes, from $ 82, to $ 112. I consider this so shady and unethical that I immediately went in and cleared out my unit.
Beware, these guys seem to be doing this frequently — catch you with low rates and raise them within a couple months.

The rates for this storage facility go up frequently.
I’ve had the storage unit for 1.5 years and I’ve had 3 increases — a total of 19%. This was not known to me when I signed up.
I was told that it would continue to go up by ~10% every 6 months. I also have a unit at Public Storage in San Jose (on Santa Teresa) for the past 1.5 years and the rate has never gone up. I’m completely disappointed and I would not recommend them to anyone

Pros — Good price for the space.
Cons — The manager (Shannon) is not easy to deal with. Read the contract carefully as it’s a scam for not pro-​rating the unit if you move out early, even when you give them more than a month of advance notice. Billing is not clear.

This storage facility is fabulous! Granted I don’t have much else to compare it to. I paid $ 98/​month for a decent sized unit that fit lots. I stored: a queen size bed (complete set), a three person couch, chair, small coffee table, small tv stand, nightstand, two medium boxes, 2 decent sized paintings, and a floor lamp. Not only was it cheap, the owners were incredibly kind. Very personable too! I highly recommend this storage facility if you’re in the need for storing belongings. I only left bc I didn’t need the stuff anymore. Otherwise I’d stay with them! :)

I have been renting here for 2 – 3 years. Bottom line:
— Good prices
— Helpful staff
— Easy payment options
— Great security
The prices are competitive and the staff are helpful. I once left a ton of stuff in one of the elevators (a blonde moment) and the staff put it in a safe place. They went out of their way to use their exit/​entry records to figure out who it was. They notified me and gave me my stuff back.

Don’t get me wrong, they are by far the cheapest place I could find. I had a 4×4 unit for $ 38 a month. First month was ½ off, but they do charge a $ 15 first time fee, so the discount came out to be a wash.
After 3 months (I always paid my rent on time), they sent a letter saying increase rent from $ 38 to $ 58, ok fine, even though their website says it’s $ 48 a month. After another 2 months plus 4 days of that I moved my stuff, and they wouldn’t prorate/​refund the rest of the 26days of rent back. I though most storage places would to that, at first they said no because I was over the 7-​day refund window, then I showed them how my pay period starts at the 20^th of every month and it was 24^th when I moved out. Then they said they just recently changed their policy, no refund at all, and told me to call back to talk to the manager.
I tried calling back and every time it was always the same, manager not here, call back later.

This place stinks. I have been renting here for at least 2 ½ yrs there used to be a couple running this place and they were so nice until late last year that I found out that there’s new people running the place Jason a guy who works here is just plain rude and very incompetent about the job… how could he run this place when you ask him something he’s answer to you will always be NO… I had been paying rent for the past 2yrs online and for some reason when I tried to sign on online im getting trouble signing in, I had click forgot password and retrieve it to my email when I signed back in it still not letting me, I know I did not put in an incorrect password so I called the storage and when Jason answered of course he does not know. His also not willing to help at all so I had asked him if there someone who works there who can probably help me he said that the person who can help me was at lunch. sooooo rude didn’t even offer to tell me that there is actually someone that can help but just out of the office… no work ethics…

I am so happy that I have chosen this storage company for my storage needs. The units and grounds are very clean and well kept. The staff is always friendly, courteous, professional and go above and beyond what you’d expect. The units are priced far below what other companies are charging and for what you get here, I am very impressed. I refer my friends and family to Extra Storage. Thanks Shannon and Staff, you guys are great

We love everything about this place!!! We recently moved from Southern Ca from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment so we needed something spacious but didn’t have a lot of extra spending money to pay for a storage monthly. I looked around and Extra Storage was by far the cheapest price for what we needed. When we went in to sign the lease, the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The area is always clean and easy to get in and out when we go there. We could not be happier :)

I really like this facility. When I first walked in it was because I was actually on my way to another storage facility, but I got the wrong place. Well, the staff was so friendly and so helpful — and not mention probably the most affordable storage in town — that I stayed. They are great. I signed a year-​contract, so my rent won’t go up, and I am quite happy. Overall, very friendly atmosphere. The only downside is the hours. The opening time is nice (7), but the closing time (7) can sometimes be a little too early. If we need something, we just have to plan to grab it ahead of time.
I would definitely recommend this.

I’ve been a single woman renting a good sized storage unit since April. I have always been treated really well. I did my research on the price and the location. This is a very competitively priced place. It is really clean (important to me), and the people call me back right away when I have called. There is room to move up or down, it is secure. The bathroom is in a safe location and clean. What’s not to like?

We had a storage unit for at least three years if not longer. There were times where the managers needed to work with us, but it always got paid. They were nice enough at those times.
When we were taking things out of this unit recently, it was decided on the spur of the moment to just take everything out as they seemed to continually be raising the rent. Since there wasn’t that much to take out anyway, we just took it all out.
The account was under my daughter’s name but us, the parents, paid for it. We had the key, the numbers needed, etc. The manager (man) came around to ask us exactly what we were doing when we arrived there but we were vague in our answer because we really didn’t think he needed to know what we were doing but we understood his asking. He left and never returned. We made two trips and everything was out. Not much stuff.
The man came back, looked over what we had done and called my daughter in a not-​so-​nice tone and said, 1) it was up to her to be there and not us even though my husband’s name was on the contract, 2) that we left the door up to the unit and the lock on the ground which was not true according to my husband who had close it but not locked it, 3) that he came back a few times and asked what we were doing and not getting an answer which was not true and, 3) why weren’t we giving the 10 day notice we were supposed to be giving.
Doing something as simple as making an impromptu decision as «let’s just get everything out instead of taking half and leaving half», was just that, a quick decision. I think security and privacy is important, more so today than ever, but I think these people go WAY OVERBOARD. While we were going to re-​rent another unit later this year for just our things, we WILL NOT be doing it at this place.
We had just paid our rent so they received a whole month’s payment without reimbursement. Cha-​Ching!!!
I didn’t like this place as a result of the man’s insistence on what we were doing, why we were doing it and his lying to my daughter. This is a storage unit for God’s sake. He received his unreimbursed money, why cry about it? Never again from them.
