Don’t think that this recycling center takes metal. they take it for «free», even on their website it will say they accept metal. misleading I brought broken kitchen aid,

My family has been going to Danny’s with their recycling for years. So of course this is where I bring mine also! Typically the majority of what j bring are plastics and some aluminum cans. With about a trunk (small sedan) full each visit I get anywhere from $ 19-​$ 24 dollars. Not only do I get a decent chunk of change the costumer service is outstanding! Wether I have my son with me or not I am always helped out unloading and turning in my recycling. The cashiers are just as friendly. They make sure and have a lollipop for my boy every time. I very much appreciate the outstanding service here and will always bring my business here.

They recycle everything. From metal, bottles, glass and etc. even the ones that the ones in supermarket parking lot doesn’t take.
Busy. But fast and efficient.
Doesn’t offer the best rates. About ¹⁄₃ — ½ of market rate.
I guess being able to recycle everything + fast makes up the difference. Totally up to you if it’s worth the rate. For me I have no choice. Only recycling place nearby.

This place is ripping people off. I get more money taking my recycles stuff to other places.
I don’t trust them when they measured to see how many lbs. you got from your cans, bottles… etc. Scam Ware Alert.

Last Saturday, I went there and got my first money from Recycling :). It was around 9 o’clock, was busy but they have many workers, so we didnt wait long. For bottles, we paid well, but I think not for glasses and cans, but that was my first time and U cant compare them with somewhere else, but I like getting money by recycling :) Keep doing and coming here!
Not many parking places, be careful!

Pro: quick service; drive in & open the trunk; some guy will come by give u a few buckets… They take aluminum & other metal cans; plastic bottles; glasses (ask to count if u hv less than 50, better deal than weighing)
Con: may not be best prices… Dirty; watch out for cars & trucks in their parking lot.
For quick & easy recycling and reasonable prices, I’m here every few months.

I don’t know how they have a 4-​star rating!!!
I had a small amount of glass, plastic, and aluminum and they weighed it. I did not get the full value of the CRV! I just moved here and am new to this process, so I told the guy that, but he obviously took advantage of me not knowing that I had to tell them to count, not weigh. Rip off!

1 cent for a POUND of metal= 300 pounds for $ 3.00? Who is the real crooks here?
AND thye Scan our drivers licenses and Finger print us??? THEY are they ones with such LOW PAYMENTS who should be fingerprinted.
They have NO UP FRONT prices for «LIGHT WEIGHT {300 pound is light weight!!!}.
No 1 cent pricing…

I don’t need to BE «HAND HELD» but BASIC COMMUNICATION (or signage) of the process would of at LEAST earned them two stars—

I always count my aluminum cans before taking to the recycle center. Danny’s runs a dishonest business, I have more than 12 lbs of cans (they are about 30 to a lb). Danny’s only gave me 11 lbs instead and when I brought up the discrepancy, all their workers just laughed at me and did not do a single thing to satisfy my concern.
Very dishonest practice and will NEVER come back here again!

Danny’s paid me $ 1.85/pound for crushed cans and a pound contains about 33.6 12oz cans which equates to 5.5 cents/​can, a 10% increase over what I paid for them! They are fast and helpful. Do not take the labels off of your 2 liter beverage containers because Danny’s will not return deposit on bottles without labels.
I was in and out in 10 minutes with $ 121.00 for 3 large bags of crushed cans.

I generally love this place but the last few times I’ve come I noticed that the amount they gave me was unusually low. I saw a sign by the cash office today that said you have to *ask* the technician for the CRV when you start in order to get it. Why would anyone not want the CRV? How do they not automatically include that? I am so disappointed. Maybe I should find a new place to bring my recycling to.
Also, they gave me a damp $ 5 bill =(Eww…
Edit: after reading other people’s reviews, I also agree that they do a terrible job of explaining. You pull in and they just take your stuff and walk off, almost always without a word. It really is bizarre when I think about it. I’ve been going a while so I’m sort of used to it and I kind of know what’s going on but apparently not really.

You HAVE TO tell them that you want them to count your plastic bottles/​aluminum cans or they will weigh them and pay you based on the weight of the bottles/​aluminum cans. It’s a rip off because it gives you less refund than counting the plastic/​aluminum containers. I didn’t know that since it’s my first time coming to a recycling center. I came in with 2 sorted bags of aluminum cans (61 cans), plastic bottles (40+ large plastic bottles), and a bags of 10+ small plastic bottles and beer glasses. As I read on California Recycling website, a customer is allowed to bring up to 50 aluminum cans and 50 plastic bottles and 50 glass. That’s why I sorted all of my recycled containers before coming here. As I pulled in, an employee directed me to park and told me someone will help me soon, After waiting for 3 – 5 mins, finally some guy came out with a huge plastic bin to help. He put all of my bags inside his plastic bin and walked away without telling me anything. I didn’t know where he’s going so I started following him. He walked to the area where the cashier is and started talking to someone standing nearby while ripping my bags to dump all of the bottles and cans out. Still he didn’t explain to me what he was doing, so I decided to walk to the cashier and asked a lady there how the whole process worked and when they were going to count my stuff. She looked annoyed and told me that I had to tell the guy when I came in. As I turned around to find the guy who had my recycling bags, he already put all of my aluminum cans in the scale and dropped them off in a big bin with other people’s cans. Then I asked him what he was going to do with my plastic bottles. He pointed at the other scale and put his bin with my plastic bottles on that scale. Finally he gave me a piece a paper with the weights of plastic bottles and aluminum cans and directed me to bring to the cashier. At the cashier with a different lady this time, I asked again how everything worked if I wanted them to count my bottles. This lady also looked annoyed and repeated exactly what the other lady said «YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM FIRST»
How about training the employees to ask customers when they come in first?
Although the difference is only a couple bucks, it’s still dishonest of them for not telling the customers about the options instead just taking the recycling bags away without any explanation.

Pulled up in the early AM hours before work and in the dark I was in and out in a flash. One of the workers saw I had a 20+ year old water heater and jumped off his forklift to help me bring it down from my truck. He took the cardboard I had from the new one as well. In and out in 5 mins at dark o thirty in the AM. Made a nasty chore as easy as possible!

A positive score for Danny Recycling. Definitely going back there again. The workers there don’t cheat me at all. Most of them SPEAK Spanish or Vietnamese. They intentionally count correctly because their count is the same as my count, amazing. They don’t pay for several types of plastic, glass, or cans because that is not what the CRV program is about, duh. Hummers are cool, but that is my personal opinion.
Beware of their customer service, its so good like baby back ribs, or if you don’t eat meat, like grass! If I had a problem with one of their worker, I would tell management and not cry about it on Unilocal.They work for a recycling company, I would not expect them to be a lawyer and ask for $ 500 in cash for any wrong doing. As a customer, I WOULD be asking for money.
My last straw was when I came back again for another wonderful experience filled with unicorns and fireworks to recycle some CRV cans. I got 0.95lb so I don’t know how I can ever get 0.5lb on my transaction without asking and clarifying before leaving the yard. Honest mistake happens, you just need to figure it out yourself and not have your hand held your entire life. So it was corrected on the spot.
Stay away unless you enjoy excellent customer service, fast reliable service, money back for the goods THEY take, not the goods YOU want them to buy.
I would give an extra star because I am Danny, but the other Danny other did so only 5 from me.

Danny can’t handle the truth. He needs to try being a man and at least own up to his mistakes. He had to stoop so low and copied my review, giving himself 5 stars. It’s called plagiarism. Is it even allowed on Unilocal?What a joke!
Under my watchful eyes, each time they «honestly» miscounted 24+oz recyclables as 5¢ and didn’t pay for containers with CA CRV either. I had to correct them every time.
The coupon price is deceptive too. They interpret it in their favor and blame the customer. Danny shamelessly claims each incident to be an «honest» mistake. Who is he trying to fool?
Instead of apologizing for their misconduct and unethical business practices, Danny insults and belittles his customers. No wonder many are staying away.
I guess we’ll have to file a compliant with BBB and Consumer Affairs.

Very friendly and helpful service. A man even helped me park my car. I was in and out quickly. I recommend pre-​sorting your recyclables prior to arriving to speed up the process.

Very efficient, they process your drop-​offs and issue you your money (if that’s the case) in rapid time, even when they are busy (Sat. afternoon). They do pretty much any sort of waste — e-​waste (including fluorescent bulbs), mixed paper, wood, metal.
Props to them for actually checking ID’s when you drop off scrap metal — having been a victim of vandals stealing metal, this means they aren’t part of the problem.

Today I went to recycle my sons plastic bottles. We arrived exactly at 4:50pm and there was a guy at the gate waving me away. I asked what time they closed, he says ‘we close at 4:50pm’…what, seriously??? Another guy came up and I asked if that was the posted time online, he says ‘I think so’…psssh, wtf!
Rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate… I understand if I had showed up right at 5pm or even 4:58pm, but seriously you’re turning people away ten minutes before you close your place business when it would have only took 5min. max. to get me in and out???
I guess they feel like they really don’t need the business and can make-​up times that they want to close, regardless of what their posted times are.
I’ve been coming here for years, but it might be time to search for a different recycle center…

My family and I have been coming here for years… They are usually very helpful. OK yes I did come in @ 4:59 pm but right away the guy starts cussing in Spanish… I told him thank you and I’m sorry but he kept pointing to his watch and then roughly grabbed the bags from my hand. I took my 5 yr old out of the car to go wait to get paid and the worker was separating the stuff and was throwing the bins and yelling at the people to hurry up.
Ok again I know it was closing time but to act like that is so not cool. My son said «mom, why is he acting crazy?»

The only place I’ve been to to recycle my bottles so I dont really have much experience to compare this place to. However, I get so scared to drive in because there is glass, computer components, and other sharp electrical parts to poke a hole in my tires. Hasnt yet though (knocking on wood!!!). I always use a coupon from the penny saver. Whether it helps or not I dont know. Ive brought glass bottles but they just toss them into a broken glass bin. Not sure if I got paid on that, feel like I didnt.
The staff is pretty quick to come over and help you unload and sort. You can come in with a whole car full and leave within 10 minutes. Getting out is another story though. I feel like its a fender bender waiting to happen.
I usually try to come before 9am on a weekend because its just going to get busier as more people show up.
