Within 30 minutes of me calling, Young was at my house. Young took care of business and was on his way to the next job in no time. Very polite and professional. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a locksmith!

It was about 3pm and I needed a lock changed on my mailbox because I just sold my house and the new owner was moving in the next morning and needed to have this done ASAP. He was very very helpful and could make himself available within an hour. That’s what you call service, plus his price was pretty reasonable given the circumstances. I even recommended Young to my brother that needed a key made for his motorcycle the next day. That was this morning, on a Saturday. That’s awesome service and he’s an expert at what he does. I would definitely recommend Young again to anyone who needs a locksmith.

I used Mr. Young’s services today and can report good and honest work. He re-​keyed 2 locks and installed 2 deadbolts for me in a timely manner. Young’s Lock & Key is an amazing business. Mr. Young goes all out to help. I have a 1997 Saturn that my son lost all the keys to. Mr. Young explained that it is too expensive to change the locks for this old car, and he would try to make a key for the car. He said he would try but it would be difficult and if he couldn’t he wouldn’t charge me. Three hours later he is still working and I will pay him something even if he can’t get me the key. I’ve done business with him before to make keys and my keys always worked!

Great customer service and highly skilled locksmith. Couple months ago my car key broke while opening the trunk so I had half of the key stuck in the lock. I finally decided last week to get it fixed. I called Young’s Lock & Key and Mr. Young was very friendly over the phone and gave me a quote. I made an appointment to bring my car in that afternoon. He knew exactly what he was doing and took just couple minutes to get the broken key out. I had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this place.

Like the other reviewers note, you can’t beat a local guy who knows his business. Mr. Young responded personally within 1 hour (after 5pm yet!) to my non-​emergency service call to re-​key all locks at my business. And his price was excellent. Recommended!

Mr. Young is wonderful! I highly recommend him for anywhere in San Leandro or closeby, he is professional, courteous and prompt. I actually never got to meet him as my problem happened late at night with my lock and after speaking with him I knew he is trustworthy so I left him my key and he fixed my lock while I was at work. He seems to be a very kind man and on top of that, he answers his phone late! Good in an emergency or regular hours, I am sure. If I ever have another problem I will always call him. Good price too! What excellent service I received! My call was answered by a person, not a recording. The appointment was set up for the same day. When a job caused him to run behind schedule, he called me right away to ask for a later time. He was profusely embarrased, as he told me this never happens, but he wanted to be respectful and let me know as soon as possible.
This was a point in my book, as just the other day I talked to a different locksmith, who gave me a rough estimate and we set up an appointment for him to come over the next day. He told me he would call me back in about 10 minutes. He never called back. I wasn’t sure if he was coming the next day or not. I called and left a voice mail message. He never bothered to call me back.
So back to Young’s Lock & Key, he arrived at the new appointment time, was extremely corteous, and knew what to do right away. My lock situation was a bit different than just a house door re-​key. He made new keys for three different locks in a very short time. One of the locks was a rare lock, which should have costed a lot more than what he quoted. However, he chose to honor his original quote.
He accepted various type of payments, which allowed me to decide my best method.

I bought a new house in San Leandro, and called around for someone to change the locks. No one from Oakland or Berkeley would come here. The owner of Young’s returned my call, arrived promptly, completed the work quickly, and was professional throughout. He is also licensed. Go for it.

Young’s Lock & Key went above and beyond in creating a new key for my 70’s Porsche. I had lost the ignition key; they came out and spent a considerable amount of time with the car to create a new key from scratch. The service was excellent and well priced. I was very lucky to find them.

They warned me that there are some locksmiths that are scamming people, so be sure to call a local locksmith that comes recommended to avoid any funny business.
