I highly recommend Bovie Lock & Key! Jeff is super responsive, prompt and works quickly. He rekeyed a lock for me and made scheduling easy as can be. He’s also very clear about pricing and his prices seem fair. I would definitely call him again for any locksmithing needs. Thanks again Jeff!

If my husband & I could rate Jeff Bovie higher we would. We have numerous doors that have not worked well since we moved into our home over 20 years ago. Most of the doors required shouldering, or kicking at the bottom to get them open. We have tried to get locksmith to re-​key and to install new hardware in the doors. Reed Brothers, our monitoring service, sent a man out to give us an estimate. He gave an excessively high estimate (actually over 100 times more than another locksmith & for less work). The Reed Bro. estimator also incorrectly claimed that some work we requested could not be done. Further he never provided a written estimate, nor did he return our numerous calls. Two other locksmiths from local companies also did not follow through. After a year of trying to find someone competent to install new hardware & re-​key our home, we checked with Unilocal. We selected Bovie Lock & Key because of the good rating. Jeff Bovie installed new hardware (deadbolts, door knobs, hinges, keys) on most of our doors and rekeyed the others. He provided the hardware we selected and installed it within a week (something Reed Bros. had said was impossible). We not only have new hardware, we have doors that open easily. Jeff knows what he is doing. We are still stunned that our doors now open easily. We had thought the doors ill-​fitting, when they were simply poorly installed. Use Jeff! He’s theBEST!!!

Bovie Lock & Key is as good as it gets. Our front door was not opening with the key we used for yearis. Jeff said the house/​door had shifted making the lock off center. I called Jeff and he was there within a couple hours to fix it. We didn’t even need new keys. He explained what what going on and fixed the door structure very quickly. He appeared very trustworthy as well which is VERY important to me when it comes to the safety of my home!
I recommend Bovie Lock & Key without any hesitations!

Jeff has done work at my house twice now. Once in 2012 and just last week.
He rekeyed all my locks for a rental property and recently changed hardware and rekeyed locks at my home.
Both times Jeff did a great job at a very reasonable price. He suggested I buy my own hardware to save money both on hw and rekeying charges, and told me exactly what to buy.
Jeff is a hard worker with unquestionable integrity. Very hard to find such an honest and capable guy. I wish he did more than lock service! I’d hire him for anything he could do.
I recommend Bovie Lock and Key without reservation.

I had previously called another place and they told me it was 19 for service call plus labor starting at 35… no exact quote…
Then I called Bovie Lock and Key, he quoted 75, was there in 15 minutes and done in 10… thanks so much for helping out when needed…

Went ona Father’s Day dog walk with wife and son. Came home to realize we forgotten our house keys. We have brand new locks all around. Called Bovie Lock & key. dude was here in 15 minutes! Got us in and did a great professional job for a super price. reed bros. would have charged me an arm & a leg!

Great hours, reasonable prices, quality work. There were some issues working with my old locks and doors, but Jeff stayed (and even came back) until the issues were all worked out.

Amazing service. I called at 7pm on a weeknight for our tenants who broke their key in the garage door while moving. Jeff was at the house in 5 minutes and finished in ½ hour. He called me to offer choices on the new lock and to explain what he was going to do and how. Better than reasonable costs considering it was an evening emergency. I live out of town and he could have soaked me and didn’t.

Just missed Jeff (I called, he called back within 5 mins but I already had called someone else. But he sounds like a great guy based on call — good prices compared to others and no upsells.

Jeff re-​keyed my locks lickety-​split and for a great price. I thought my whole door handle had to be replaced, but he assured me it was in great condition. I think it took Jeff about twenty minutes to talk me through what he was going to do and get it done, including making me a few spare keys. Give him a call!

This past Saturday my three year old got locked in a bedroom. (She couldn’t or wouldn’t unlock it from the inside). Despite the 49er playoff game, and I learned later, his mom’s 65^th birthday, Jeff was there within minutes, and got her out no problem. He didn’t charge extra for weekend service, and his price was fair.
I will call him again anytime I need locksmith services. Jeff is a great guy, kind and respectful and knows his craft. I recommend him without hesitation.

I locked myself out last night and am so glad Jeff came out to get me in. The lock on my door is different then any other I have lived in (2005 construction) it has a self locking bolt. Jeff showed up promptly even though it was after hours, he got me in quickly and was professional the entire time. As a single female I appreciate a respectful demeanor when dealing with service ppl at my house. Jeff does not charge extra for after hours which is awesome. Highly recommended!

I had rented a UHAUL and was moving stuff into storage —
There was a padlock on the back of th UHAUL and sure enough I locked the keys in the back it. All the keys — so i couldnt drive anywhere —
Luckily I had Jeffs business card — called him and he was there at the extra space storage within 20 minutes and had the lock opend about 10 minutes later.

Expert, friendly, great hours, cheap and super capable/​knoweledgeable

Jeff was pleasant, courteous and above all on time. He knew how to work on the old mortoise locks in my 1940’s apartment. His prices were very inexpensive. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Jeff did a nice job re-​keying our locks after we moved in. He responded to my inquiries quickly, was friendly and professional, and arrived on time and completed the job quickly.
I wish there had been a little more clarification beforehand about total cost, and I think this is partly my issue for assuming everything was included in the re-​keying/​cost of new keys estimate that I was given (and that is listed here on Unilocal) — there was no mention of the added cost of labor when I spoke to Jeff on the phone.
Not a big deal in the long run, but worth mentioning because it did confuse me a bit when I was handed the final bill, and could have been avoided easily with a little more clarification up front when services were discussed initially.
Jeff’s flexibility with dates/​times was much appreciated — I’d use Bovie Lock & Key again, no question.

Recently I had a home break in and needed more security — Bovie Lock and Key showed up on a Saturday, provided me with several security options that would compliment my 1911 Craftsman Home, and installed my locks that same day. He was clean, courteous, efficient, and even repaired my original fixture to boot (without asking). To top it off his price quote was 20% less than any competitor. I now feel safer in my home, and have Jeff to thank for it.
I am definitely a return customer.
