Not my bag.
I stopped in, drawn in by their $ 5 t-​shirt sale. I’d been trying on outfits along Haight all day and at some point some crazy stain had made it’s way onto me.
First off, most of the items here are junior sizes. That means the bust doesn’t fit for anyone over an A cup unless you go down a size, and then the torso may not fit.
The dressing room here is… tight. And not awesome tight — like two inches from the curtain tight. So, yea… not my bag, even though it did smell really nice in the store.
I came downstairs and stood holding the items I’d tried on for a few moments with the cashier glancing at me and busying herself with something else, I finally told her I’d put them away myself and after doing so she thanked me.
I ended up purchasing the $ 5 tee (even though another in a different color fit tighter… hmm) and to add to the strange service that this visit was (overheard conversations regarding business earnings, etc.) the cashier never gave me my change.
Now I don’t need 5 cents and frankly I was too polite and tired to ask for it in the moment. But yea. Weird.
Probably won’t come back. I’m with other reviewers. Forever 21 is probably a cheaper and better fitting bet.

Very cute stuff and they’re currently running a deal where you get a free pair of designer sunglasses (of your choice) when you buy a bag or an article of clothing. The change rooms upstairs are very trippy. They look like futuristic teleportation pods, but prettier. However, the space is extremely cramped, so I wouldn’t linger near the changing area if you’re claustrophobic.

I love this store. I love their fingerless gloves that they sell (sell fall/​winter time only) they are unique and perfect for SF rainy/​foggy weather.
But I also love their unique jewelry! I’ve bought plenty of decently priced earrings and necklaces here before and I always get such lovely compliments on them!
They sell bags too but i have yet to buy any from here…

So many stores carry purses and accessories everywhere… why is Stuf better than others? I think having a small shop helps… and they pack it with stock at every available space. All the colorful purses on both sides of the wall, the window display, the little «sale» corner nook… the couple glass display cases with cute accessories… display of sunglasses behind the register…
An orange purse on display caught my eye. I tend to attract to larger purses because it needs to fit a laptop to/​from work. The plus of this purse is it can become a backpack so it’s great for traveling too. When I asked to look at the orange one — I was told it also came in green and black. Love the green but I have quite a few green purses already so I stuck with the orange — Giant’s color and something that pops, also not «bright» enough so it can be a «fall» color too.
Tried a few of the bling rings, saw some cute bangles, admired some long earrings… ended up with a very simple silver hoop and of course, the orange purse.

I don’t know about you, but an entire wall of cubby holes filled with beautiful purses and handbags… arranged by color… ABSOLUTELY turns me on.
Stuf is a tiny accessory store in the Upper Haight wedged between a shoe repair shop and a toy store. It’s easy to miss, but you’d be depriving yourself of a good thing if you do. While you’ll find cool and relatively cheap sunglasses, earrings, and scarves here, the cherry is the amazing selection of handbags and purses made of either vinyl (right half of the wall, made for milk money), or leather (left half of the wall, meant for splurging). Stuf fully stocks up on pieces that are trendy yet made well (these ain’t no cheaply-​made Aldo purses), unique yet classic (why spend an entire paycheck at Coach?).
In addition to offering a huge variety of cute, sturdy bags, every now and then they have these amazingly awesome, too-​good-​to-​be-​true sales. My last visit they were doing 20% off ALL genuine leather handbags (yes… TWENTY. PER. CENT!!!). With such a substantial discount, I was able to score a delicious chocolate brown Italian leather Tano shoulder tote (
) for under 200 bucks. This was nearly 50 bucks cheaper than the market price.
Oh yeah, baby. This store is entirely worth singing about. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

The right Stuf!

Peacock feathers are truly mind-​blowing.
The way they glisten and catch the light. A magical fusion of iridescent greens and blues. Formed by natural colors — which no matter how hard we try — we just can’t quite replicate.
Stuf carries a small but stunning array of phenomenally breath-​taking peacock and feather earrings. They’re unique, elegant, and locally made.
I bought a pair of long pair of peacock earrings this weekend — and can’t stop admiring the way the sun kisses each feather wisp.
A small and rather unassuming store — Stuf is worth stopping into and browsing around. They carry a noteworthy selection of locally made jewelry, bags, and other accessories.
My favorite part of my visit to this store this weekend was the personable guy who rang up my purchase. I noticed a beautiful blue ear piece — adorning his semi-​stretched ear lobe. I commented on the color and he smiled and confessed that it was the top of a Sharpie.
A huge grin spread across my face. Sharpies are one of my favorite things in the world — and seeing them recycled as an eye-​catching jewelry accent truly made my day.
Trust.

Stuf is the magic gift store. Great presents are born here.
I dropped in before my recent visit to NYC, and picked up a bag for myself (the gorgeous grey and black «Love Poem» bag) and a bracelet and necklace for a long-​distance friend I hadn’t yet met in person.
She’s a storyteller, a writer friend, and she **loved** the bracelet. It was made by a local artist who makes buttons from vintage storybooks, then turns those buttons into jewelry. This was her «Little Red Riding Hood» bracelet.
My friend loves this bracelet so much, she wore it to her big lunch with Jon Hamm — «Mad Men“‘s Don Draper — last week. He noticed her bracelet right away; she told him that it came from me.
But really, that bauble came from the lovely ladies at Stuf. I can’t thank you all enough. Happy holidays to one and all … and believe me when I say I’ll be in again. SOON. :)

This place is probably my favorite accessory store in the Haight. They have cute charm bracelets, cool rings, an a nice array of bags. There are these ADORABLE animal watches. I know all this makes Stuf seem like it’s kiddy or something, but it’s definitely not. They’ve got some good lookin’ stuff, I’d say check it out if you’re a girl who likes artsy, feminine accessories. Very reasonable prices too. Also a good place to get gifts.

Easily my favorite store in San Francisco. They have really cute inexpensive purses when you want something trendy, and they also carry Tano bags which are my absolutely fave when I have a bit of money to spend. The staff are super helpful and sweet.
I hope that everyone who is a fan of Stuf and has the means heads in during the economic downturn and spends some money there to make sure it stays healthy!

It’s really hard to walk out of this store empty handed. Countless trendy but affordable earrings (woven, wired, threaded, beaded, feathered, door knockers, hoops) and snazzy scarves and shades. The vast selection of leather purses, on the other hand, are not so cheap.

I just scored a fab pair of laser cut resin shoulder grazers.
I looked at a similar pair that was on display at the Renegade
Craft Faire for $ 55. These babies only set me back $ 5.
They will be making their debut on the Mezzanine dance-​floor
at the Soul Slam party this weekend. Grandmama would be oh-​so proud.. .

Great accessories, great bags. Jewelery is completely reasonably priced here and one of my favorite places to check in with for something to complete what I’m wearing. Their stock is forever changing and the music is always good while I shop – usually some obscure remix by Diplo or even some Madlib. Sales people are helpful too.
I once bought some fabulous oversized gold hoops here and lost one the very first night I wore them, came back and told them and they replaced my pair for FREE.
The purses are pretty stylin’ too though a little more expensive, and well worth it.

The first place you should go to complete the outfit, buy some cute
new earrings, change your wallet. I love this little slice of girly heaven. Careful, you might get addicted!
All earrings under $ 25, super cute. Great hoops. Purses are lovely, some local designers (why i go there)…seriously though, its the hoops. The earrings… if only my cat would stop batting them around the house then maybe I could hold onto a pair for longer than a week!

The entire time I was in this store, I kept thinking about how much I wanted to Unilocal it, and here I am!
Let’s start with the name of the store, «Stuf.» Totally NOT a misnomer because this place is filled to the brim with stuf. P. S. I keep wanting to say STOOF…
Moving along, I agree with Lolia’s review in that there are a ton of purses that are designer knock-​offs for kind of a lot. Every purse that I picked out was in the 50 – 75 dollar range which I wasn’t really willing to spend considering A) I had just gotten out of Goodwill and purchased two dresses for 4 dollars total B) the styles weren’t that unique, the quality looked a lil subpar and C) I would rather spend money on the A M A Z I N G jewelry they had.
I literally looked at every single thing in the store and ended up purchasing a long necklace with a thin gold chain that wrapped its self around a large green stone (probably fake but who the eff cares), a pair of jesus earrings and got a free pair of these really cool yellow heart earrings for spending over 20 dollars (but not much over). I was surprised by how cheap the jewelry is and how C U T E. I really liked the beebalalou line they had and am linking you RIGHT NOW.
Wow I hope linking that wasn’t illegal somehow slash i tried to use my impressive html from my 8^th grade geocities webpage days, but Unilocal wouldn’t let me. sadface.
The style of most of the jewelry is very kitschy and gaudy to the max, which is actually the way I like to live my life, so it worked out well for me. But they also have styles that are a little less INYOFACE and a little more sedated, but still, obviously, cool.
I am also still regretting/​hanging my head in shame at not purchasing this leather wallet they had. It was a shiny, purple/​periwinkle color with a pinkish sheen… very Mermaidesque, but it was only 20 dollars for the longer wallet and 18 dollars for the smaller (which came with a coin purse with a lock clasp. adorable). Anyway, if you guys head over there you should def. get it. They had that adorable Mermaidy one and also a mustardy colored one, and a white one. DO IT TO IT.
The one complaint I do have is that, in my opinion, they don’t display the REALLY cool stuff in the window.

Though I’ve come into the store many times and I love handbags, rarely does anything strike my fancy. You can find cheap jewelry here and obscure handbag brands that mainly look like knockoffs of Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Fendi and other designers. I bought a Marc Jacobesque looking leather purse and didn’t carry it around for long before the spring/​metal part poked through.
Their purses aren’t that cheap (expect to pay around $ 50) so if you want a stylish looking purse that’s not hundreds, even thousands of dollars, and you want a knockoff, I suggest trying Aldo or Target. If you want cheap costume jewelry, try Forever 21, Target (again), or H&M.

I have a mild obsession with earrings. The more unique, the better. So when I discovered that Stuf had earrings from South America that are made out of fish scales — yes, I said fish scales — I was all over that! A lot of the funky jewelry is really cheap, and the purses/​clutches/​handbags are reasonably priced as well. You’ll also find other accessories like sunglasses, hair accoutrements, etc.
Beware: you might overlook this tiny shop because it doesn’t have its name on an awning — it’s on a window sticker that’s hard to spot. Stuf’s become a new favorite for a day of shopping on Haight.

My mustard colored handbag that I got at Aldo last November has a torn lining, broken zipper and almost broken handles. Not saying anything about the quality of Aldo’s bags, but I guess I wear through purses like other people do sneakers. I’m not a multiple handbag kind of girl. I like my one bag, and I stick with it. With that being said, I need to make a trip to Stuf.
This place has an entire wall of cubby holes filled with purses. Its a bag fans wet dream, or for me just a place where i can find my next everyday bag. Everything here is reasonably priced. A good quality bag for $ 50 is a totally reasonable find here. I’m into the funky accessory, cuz if I’m carrying it everywhere, I want to be noticed and complimented and this store can provide just that. Want funky matching earrings to go with your funky handbag? I’m sure you can find some on sale here too.

What I first wrote off as just another trendy Haight Street store to pass by and ignore has now become one of my favorite places to shop. I always pop in there whenever I’m on Haight Street. I can’t help it. Especially since the cute and unique earrings are usually in my price range. The quality isn’t too bad, you just got to be particular about what you’re choosing. The purses/​bags are a little more pricey but you never know if you’ll stumble upon a great find.
That wall of purses? You’ll probably find me staring wistfully up at all the cute bags. Sigh. Once I make more $$$, I plan to spend some it at Stuf. (Someone get me a gift certificate for here!)

I’ve had my ears pierced since I was 13. After they finally healed I wore ridiculous amounts of earrings ranging from ghetto pre-​J-​Lo hoops, to fluorescent dangling balls to little mini cheetahs. Yep, earrings, as tacky as they were, they were a BIG part of my teen years. It wasn’t until I developed what some may refer to as, A REALITY CHECK that I realized what a dork I looked like in them and retired my ear holes for a good 12 years.
It wasn’t until a friend gave me a really cute pair of earrings last year that I thought, «Hmm, maybe it’s time to give them another try» and a hobby was born! Now, I am on a mission to collect really cute earrings wherever I go and lucky for me, I happened upon this store and scored 3 new pairs of adorable earrings.
They have a variety or unique and interesting styles here along with tons of purses, which are all very cute, but I prefer the vintage purses myself. Price wise, the purses seemed a bit high, but the accessories and earrings are priced very fairly.
So give it a go, just stay away from those fluorescent hoops and cougar ones, I’m thinking it will be a long while before those bad girls come back in fashion ;)
