This company is amazing. I was going to go back home (NYC) for summer vacation from school and I needed somewhere SAFE to leave my belongings. After I harassed them with plenty of questions which they happily answered, I agreed and I’m so happy I did.
They bring you boxes!
Come pick your things up. Then when you want your things back they deliver it right to your door.
It doesn’t get any better than that! And the prices are so good! You pretty much pay for the amount of things your store.
So give them a try, believe me you won’t regret it!

Have used these guys for a few years now through 3 moves. Super convenient, very professional and reliable, friendly staff, fair pricing. Vince is also a model employee and does one of the most exhausting jobs around with a great attitude. Highly recommended.

This is the letter I sent to CityStash the day they were supposed to arrive, back on October 3, 2015:
«I am sorry to have to write this message but I have had a terrible experience with CityStash — and I haven’t even received the boxes yet. I placed an order for ~ 10 boxes and was perfectly ready to spend $ 50 – 120 a month to store my stuff. This took place on Monday, September 28 and I scheduled the box drop off for Saturday, October 3 from 10 AM — 12 PM. I received a voicemail yesterday, Friday October 2 at 3:41 PM indicating that my order was going to be cancelled because I had not responded to an email (which was sitting in my spam folder). The voicemail was unintelligible and I only found this out when I called Vince and he explained what he meant.
First of all, why would you cancel an order without consulting me first? If you can’t deliver the item, that’s not my fault nor my responsibility. We discussed the situation and then he had the gall to tell me you have a four month minimum — which is contrary to what you have on the website. I agreed to it because I don’t plan on taking it out any time soon, but he continued to see if he could adjust the delivery time. I told him I picked that time block out because that’s when I have available. My job is not to turn my schedule around for a service provider — I’m the customer, and the time block was available online.
It’s now 12:09 PM on Saturday, October 3 and no one has contacted me nor shown up. I needed an alternative to Boxbee because they’re not taking boxes anymore and I’m sorry to say you’ve likely cost yourself $ 100 a month for the foreseeable future. I probably would have left them in there for the next couple years actually. I invite a dialogue or response if you feel so inclined.»
I got a voicemail later that day but what’s the point if you’re not going to respect my time, money, or effort on the very first moment we’re supposed to do business? Shame on you, CityStash.

I think that the idea of renting storage on a per-​item basis with pick up and delivery is a great service to offer in San Francisco. Unfortunately, while the idea is great, when I attempted to store my mattress with CityStash, their operation was very poorly run and unresponsive.
I signed up for pickup and gave them my payment information in mid-​July. They made it clear that pick up wasn’t confirmed until they responded by email, and they did respond to me with a reply that let me know they were nearing capacity and booked through the next week for pickups. The email was directly from an employee and he let me know to check back in with him during the next week so that they could try to schedule me in and asked me to follow up if I had any questions. I replied with a thank you and let them know that my schedule was flexible and would check back in with them the next week.
5 days later, I replied to see if we could schedule a pickup. NO REPLY.
7 days after that, I sent yet another email to check in. NO REPLY.
Two weeks after I had first contacted them and still not receiving a reply to my previous two emails, I called CityStash directly. I was able to speak with a «manager,» who asked me to email him directly.
I emailed the manager directly. NO REPLY.
I followed up with the manager 1 day later. He finally replied to me and asked me how long I wanted to store the mattress for (more or less than 4 months).
I sent the manager an email back with an answer. NO REPLY.
FOUR WEEKS after contacting them and never getting a real response, I ended up just donating my mattress because I’d run out of time to figure out what to do with it and didn’t want to deal anymore. If CityStash couldn’t handle my storage request, they should have been upfront, rather than simply ignoring any communication. Because storage is often time-​sensitive, this is especially unacceptable.

These guys are awesome. I was in a pinch and they really came through. Vince was very flexible, and went through a tremendous amount of trouble despite my crazy situation. Their «ala-​carte» model is pretty convenient, and they have an online tool that lets you manage the items you’ve stored. I highly recommend them!

I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Based on all these excellent, glowing reviews, I saw this services as the perfect solution to my current situation (moving in with my partner temporarily as we look for larger place together).
I submitted a work order on ¹¹⁄₃₀ for a pickup (nothing too massive – a bookcase, a mattress, several boxes, folding table) on ¹²⁄₁₃.
And then… nothing.
I finally emailed them ¹²⁄₇ to inquire as to see if the order was accepted, and… nothing.
TODAY, I finally get an email from Vince, the operations manager:
«My apologies for the delayed response to you you order request. We received your work order scheduled for Saturday December 13^th. Currently we are extremely limited for large item acceptance. We can take you medium boxes and your luggage. Unfortunately that would have to be the extent for the time being. Once we have available space, I would be more than happy to take your additional items whenever that may occur. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks»
I have entirely planned my move around the availability of this service – if I had known weeks ago that they could not accommodate me, I would have chosen another route.
Now I am scrambling at the last minute to figure out what to do for this weekend… very frustrating. I wanted to believe in this excellent business model, but now have to seek out more traditional movers/​storage solutions. Argh.

We live in a 500-​square foot apartment, and we’re about to have a baby! We needed to make some space for the crib and other baby items.
When we looked into storage services, we came across BoxBee and CityStash. BoxBee is considerably more expensive and their boxes only came in one size. Not exactly ideal nor is it practical. CityStash, on the other hand, have various box sizes and they store items/​furniture of any size.
We’re so glad we chose CityStorage. They have a super friendly staff, and they provide such a great service!

Moving sucks! That isn’t anything new but City Stash is a service that you don’t want to do without of you have to store your stuff. The customer service has been outstanding from my initial phone call to the driver who came to pick up my stuff. When I booked my order I received the standard 2 hour window. What I didn’t expect was a) I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours of my call and b) the driver contacted me and we got the work done ahead of schedule which freed up my time for other things. My things were moved quickly and with care. Why would you go anywhere else? The price is great, it is convenient and the service is outstanding!

This place is fantastic. I wasn’t even looking for a service to haul my gear, just a place to store it but these guys do it all. Vince is the man and explained everything to us, especially a few of the things on the website I didn’t pick up on. He was personably and very friendly, even calling the day after picking up the gear to check in (I couldn’t be there for the pickup). I’ve read a bunch of bad reviews of storage spaces where you have to do all the labor. This outfit is a no-​brainer and the service rocks. The price is right to boot.
One point of note, if you want them to come in less than 24 hours and the website allows for that, make sure you call to confirm. It seems the website can be a little too generous with their scheduling on a tight turnaround.

Friendly, effective, efficient, timely … These guys get it Done!!!
They made 2 or 3 runs to pick up my 400+ boxes, were all-​of-​the-​above every time.
Also, the office people have also been all-​of-​the-​above every time, such as Patrick.
Also very! helpful when I asked storage-​manager Vince to see if certain unique boxes were among all that was stored … and he found them !! First a few, and then ALL of those I needed;
AND helped me by getting them down from high storage and onto a flatbed dolly and out to (& loaded into) the car !
I **strongly** recommend this company !

Look no further, these are the guys you want! I was in a very sticky living situation and wanted an exit out ASAP! City Stash seemed legit so I registered a pick up online– so easy! They arrived right on time, made me laugh and got the job done in a flash. So professional yet easy going. I couldn’t figure out how to dismantle my bed and in no time, without questions asked, they were on it. Great service, kind and funny staff. There is no other when it comes to stashing your items away! Cute mustaches too… Way to put the Stache in Stash!

There’s nothing worse than getting just too small of a storage unit — or a storage unit that isn’t open at the hours you need, getting a zip van, etc. Enter CityStash.
They were super helpful, very responsive, and easy to work with.

I needed somewhere to store my furniture for a while and Citystash was incredibly convenient. They drop off the boxes you need, you pack everything up, they come to pick it up, store it, and deliver it whenever you need. Easy! Friendly yet professional staff and top-​notch customer service were just the icing on the cake.

City Stash is amazing. I’m a student at USF and they make moving in and out so much easier. Definitely using them all four years of college.

CityStash is beyond phenomenal! I’m a law student at Hastings, and had to move out of my apartment and relocate for my summer job. CityStash made my moving and storing process so much easier, and affordable too. Their workers are super friendly and personable. One point of constructive criticism I have is to make their pick-​up/​redelivery time slot more narrow. My time slot was 3 hours long and I probably would have preferred a one hour window, if possible. Other than that, CityStash and their people are amazing!

These guys make people lives so much easier!
The way city stash works is so simple and convenient that using storage anywhere else does not make sense.
They left the boxes at my place, I filled them up, and they picked it up on the scheduled day. They also took some furniture.
Whenever I need my items back they will bring everything!
I am just very happy that I don’t have to worry about my stuff while I’m out of the country.

«Wow — this is the right way to do storage! Their people come to my house and handle everything for me. I have a typical tiny San Francisco apartment so I used these guys to store some excess household items. There are very few self storage facilities where I live in SOMA… so happy I now don’t have to drive halfway across town to store!

I used CityStash last summer to store some of my belongings while I went down to southern California for Summer vacation. I was extremely impressed with how professional and affordable they were. I loved the option of only storing a few bins, which was perfect in my scenario, rather than buying a whole storage locker! I’ve recommended them to all my dorm friends at San Jose State and will be using them again this year as well :)
